A user friendly platform with an excellent support team.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to fully customize campaigns and projects without having an extensive knowledge of how to email coding. The workflow capabilities also allow you to create some very customized marketing workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The insights don't allow for as much customization as I would like. There isn't much you can do in that part of the platform, so a lot of my analytics are done off of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable allows me to create customer segments with dynamic content, which helps personalize content for each customer.
Overwhelmingly Positive
What do you like best about the product?
drag and drop ability when mocking up email creative, and the list management and segmenting features make mailchimp almost unusable once you become accustomed to iterables interface. The workflow creation and management interface is excellent, allowing much of the day to day work to become automated. Also, the "help" intercom system that allows an iterable operator to chat in real time with a iterable representative is outstanding. This has honestly really been a lifesaver in many sticky situations. Their reps do a great job. The UTM feature in the advanced options is also a great tool that allows for easier segmenting and reporting, and it quite simple and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
the merge tags can be sorta finicky sometimes, but even then this is nothing when compared to the other issues ESP's have. sometimes the drag and drop feature can have some glitches. Sometimes the button formatting can be a little off set, with the button sometimes being too small for the text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
quick, clean, and easy segmenting of users who sign on. By using workflows we are able to segment by survey responses so that a user, depending on their given answer, receive a unique autoresponder email or series of emails. This allows much of the day to day work in the past to be automated, freeing up vital time that allows our firm to optimize our time thus increasing profitability.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
do it. mailchimp is trash.
An outstanding product
What do you like best about the product?
Rarely do people rave about their ESPs, but we rave about Iterable all the time. Platform is lightning quick and intuitive. And the UX on customer segmentation + campaign creation are superior.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting needs to catch up. We're able to get everything we need, but that flow could definitely use some work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to more easily segment customers so we can do more retention and reengagement campaigns based on user behavior.
Other platforms offer it- but we think Iterable just does it better.

Great for Simple and In Depth USe
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's easy to use for somebody who doesn't have super in-depth knowledge of the product, but it also has lots of in-depth features (complicated logic and workflows) for experienced marketers. Their support is usually timely as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I will get timed out in the middle of setting up an email, and in that case I wish they had an HTML backup that I could just copy and paste and re-do without losing my progress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it at an agency, it's really helpful having all of our email/SMS marketing in one place that's easy to use. It's easy to set up with clients who want to use it as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely better than mailchimp or anything lightweight like that, and very reasonable pricing.
Great platform!
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, great support team, affordable pricing. The workflow feature is also awesome. A drastically simpler way to do marketing automation than other platforms we have used.
What do you dislike about the product?
List importing is still annoying. They don't allow you to match fields (the header name has to be identical on the CSV). They really should change this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's mainly our email marketing platform, but also serves as a CRM in some cases. We also use it for SMS, Web push, direct mail, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask for Jeremy to be your CSM.
Great customer support but limiting platform for non-engineers
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate that my account representative and customer support are always extremely helpful and responsive. I also really like the drag an drop editor - there are a lot of possibilities there.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really have a hard time with the way lists and work flows are set up. It takes a lot of logic (and backward thinking) to get something done and often doesn't give you the result you want until many iterations. I also wish we could upload our own fonts. I never use the analytics dashboard because we all the different types of campaigns our business runs (multiple countries, multiple parts of the business) it's difficult to narrow down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using emails to bring in revenue and repeat customers.
Iterable has been a gamechanger for our marketing emails
What do you like best about the product?
First of all, the UI is really easy to understand and navigate - setting up a campaign is straightforward unlike in a lot of other email service providers. All the features are useful, especially workflows for automation. Segmentation is great too, and allows us to get work done without needing assistance from our analytics teams. Overall I would highly recommend them to other email marketers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when you search for campaigns, it won't pull up a campaign in the search results that does exist and should be displayed as a search results. You have to refresh the page a few times to get it to work. This happens probably 30-40% of the time when searching campaigns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable allows us to quickly segment users, send them emails, set up automated email campaigns quickly, and learn and iterate on our campaigns with a/b testing and analytics. It saves us a lot of time, since without them we would be stuck depending on our developers and analysts to get anything done to send an email campaign.
Has potential, but is a little clunky
What do you like best about the product?
- The flexibility of the tool is unreal, which is mostly due to the data model/elastic search. Ability to reference data objects is great.
- Great functionality through the API
- BEE editor integration for email templates
- Reasonable Segment integration

What do you dislike about the product?
- Navigation through the product is pretty clunky
- Reporting is sub-par, but we don't really use it anyway. Reporting in most email/marketing automation tools leaves a lot to be desired.
- Template/Campaign management is confusing at first. Not intuitive at all.

Be prepared for a pretty steep learning curve.
Iterable has been a game-changer from us
What do you like best about the product?
Iterable has allowed us to in-house and streamline our data-driven marketing and extend the channels we use. The workflows feature is simple to use and powerful for managing our programmes and we love the simplicity of 'Experiments'
What do you dislike about the product?
There's an ongoing bug with email heat map reporting that we're waiting for a fix on and the Insights feature could be enhanced. We also eagerly anticipating the ability to update Facebook custom audiences from workflows and set in-app notification expiry beyond 24 hrs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to turnaround campaigns much more efficiently and see our results and optimise in real time.
Iterable Gives Other Marketing Automation Products a Run For Their Money
What do you like best about the product?
Our company has been using Iterable now for over a year to service the needs of our clients. Iterable's layout, organization, segmentation functionality, ease of use, and ability to build complex workflows for drip campaigns are by far the best features.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are few aspects of Iterable I dislike. As far as limitations go, there are a few when using Iterable at an enterprise level (like the ability to clone projects and clone workflows across projects). In spite of these limitations, the Iterable team has always been highly responsive, is aware of the above limitations, and working to correct them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We employ an omni-channel marketing automation strategy that integrates social media, direct mail, and email channels. Iterable has helped us define our segments and maintain consistent communication across all three channels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have/service multiple markets and are looking to use Iterable in a way where you wish to re-purpose workflows for other markets, be aware that you will have to rebuild each workflow. This is because Iterable is still lacking the functionality to duplicate workflows and/or clone projects.
