Integrated over 10+ Clients on Iterable
What do you like best about the product?
Iterable has the best in class workflows and automation features, as well as extremely robust APIs. The tool is extremely easy to pick up and offers one some of the strongest flexibility in integrating with other tools and platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of integration with Shopify and Magento, particualrly when compared to other automation tools. Their internal reporting tools are also not that strong, however they do allow you extract everything via Webhook which helps offset this if you do your reporting in Looker or another tool (which a lot of our clients use).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For most of the clients we have helped migrate to Iterable, they were solving for a more complex workflow automation tool that could better send data back to their system and push data up. They were previously using legacy systems that required syncing a database, which didn't make sense given they were using Segment.Io or some other ETL tool to manage their data. In addition, the tool is about 50x more intuitive and marketer friendly, while still having many of the same, if not better capabilities than enterprise level tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Iterable is one of the strongest mid-market tools in the automation space, largely driven by their workflow tool and strong integration with Segment.
Great software, helpful team, easy onboarding
What do you like best about the product?
I love the access to their CX team via chat. They can help me find what I am looking for quickly and are generally very helpful. I love their workflow capabilities and that you can now see aggregate workflow data.
Because they are smaller, they really care about their clients and their needs. They are always improving their software and adding new things that make my job easier.
Because they are smaller, they really care about their clients and their needs. They are always improving their software and adding new things that make my job easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are a smaller company so they are still working out some glitches but all in all, they are helpful in addressing our concerns when we have issues. Hopefully as their team grows those glitches become less and less common.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable allows multiple team members to work across multiple projects easily. We are able to manage drips and campaigns and it's very user friendly which makes onboarding new users easy.
Good base for some businesses
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that it is truly an omni marketing tool. Lots of opportunities to create meaningful workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little clunky on integration, composure of campaigns individually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Addressing a home market of users
Great features that allow marketing team to be empowered, but still some rough edges
What do you like best about the product?
The workflow/journey editor has quite a bit of flexibility and customization -- allowing marketing teams to take raw data and yet operate very complex segmentations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though the journey editor is complex by nature, some of the segmentation is overly complex. For example, emailing customers 7 days after a purchase is very difficult because selecting 'on a date' is timestamp specific. The workaround is to pick people 'after 8 days ago' AND 'on or before 7 days ago'. This is an example of a rough edge. Nonetheless, the team is building out more features fairly consistently to solve these problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our email marketing and transactional emails. This allows our eng/development team to integrate once with a platform and marketing team to mostly have all the flexibility they need without further eng requests.
Iterable makes email marketing and data work seamless together
What do you like best about the product?
Integrations with platforms like Revv and the ability to build intergrations!
What do you dislike about the product?
Could have a better reporting template that we can export into a PDF with client branding!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving segmenting problems that other email marketing platforms can't do.
Helpful tool for blast & trigger email marketing
What do you like best about the product?
The Iterable team is constantly improving its product and is eager for feedback on features and changes. Their service team is always available and willing to help troubleshoot any issues. It's easy to set up UTM parameters, create custom audience segments, build "snippets" for content that's re-used across emails, and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were easier ways to categorize emails (but I believe the team is actively testing a version to potentially roll out this feature) to streamline reporting. I wish heatmap data could be included in reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to send more personalized email communications through Iterable's segmentation features. We're able to automate more communications by building out workflows and triggers.
Easily operated at all levels of marketing experience, quickly responsive when needed.
What do you like best about the product?
Intercom is always manned throughout business hours and the response time is always under 10-15 minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are glitches in drag and drop templates that carry over to proofs prior to email sends.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email fundraising, product promotion, advocacy.
Iterable is great tool for email marketing, especially when clients pair it with Revv for donations.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the drag and drop function of composing an email. It is very user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the web push feature, most users pull through with a placeholder email. I reached out to iterable support so my actual email would pull through so I could obtain proofs, but did not get very much help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When paired with Revv, we are able to automate a lot of functions through workflows. Saves us time and energy.
Simple UI and powerful targeting
What do you like best about the product?
I love the combination of overall intuitiveness/ease of use with powerful features such as the workflow feature. I also particularly love how the ElasticSearch database and their APIs give us the flexibility to represent our complex data easily, and surface that data easily to marketers using the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had a couple issues early on with stability, with emails failing to be sent, though that's not been an issue recently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to empower very complex email targeting/user segmentation while keeping the software accessible to entry-level marketers.
Great email service provider for creative and data-savvy email marketers
What do you like best about the product?
Love how creative we can be with our complicated data. Iterable lets us use workflows, blast campaigns, and API triggers to send highly personalized and beautiful emails. The experimentation framework is pretty robust, so we can learn quickly, and the analytics UI is pretty good (and always improving). Furthermore, the Iterable team have been good partners when we've had questions or concerns, and I really appreciate how technical they are since our team is very technical.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a few major data breakdowns over the past year that have hurt our sends. We're also currently dealing with some data load issues as we've increased the volume of data that we update daily with Iterable. There are some bugs in their experiments framework and analytics UI that are annoying, but far from dealbreakers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're sending more personalized content to our users, and how flexible their system is has allowed us to test and learn rapidly and apply those learnings to other parts of our business. We're currently using their API trigger functionality to also transition other teams' emails to Iterable, which allows other teams to work more efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be clear with your Iterable rep about what you want to accomplish -- I think we have been successful with Iterable because we shared our business goals, data, and our strategy with them. They are great business partners and will work hard to find creative solutions if you're communicative.
