Amazing experience

What do you like best about the product?
The realtime monitoring and the backend traces are helpful. Very big data management is impressive. Instana js covering every nook and corner of an application. Comparison in with other competitor, Instana is best in its UI and how the data is segregated and presented.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the past traces doesn't have data, instana can try to improve that. Instana can consider adding server logs as a separate section. It would be also helpful if we can see a user flow as a separate one. Mobile view can also be considered adding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Instana for our website monitoring. For any kind of real time issue we are 100% trusting instana for reporting via alerts. Also after reporting , we again trust instana for the insights or data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A must try and 100% trust worthy product for incident report and management.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy interface nice map of dependencies it's pretty useful at the moment of point a failure in Kubernetes and VMS
What do you dislike about the product?
The discrepancies on the documentation don't focus on the to-do and focus more on explaining something that maybe we never use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
traceability, enrich user session data, resource monitoring, some benefits about others APMs it's an easy implementation with a low cost licensing
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's the new APM with the exact boundaries as others pretty useful in Kubernetes, lambdas, and cloud monitoring.

Good Product and a great team behind it

What do you like best about the product?
Instana supports a large number of technologies with their sensors and continue to expand them over time. Their strength is in setups that aren't completely cloud-native, or where components below container level are managed. The team that supports enterprise customers is extraordinary and does a great job in communicating and being available for questions and feature requests. They provide a Slack channel and from time to time also product management or SREs are pulled in on dedicated topics. Also the pricing model is by far the best I have seen and much more predictable than the one from competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
As for every small company (not any more thanks to IBM), feature requests are processed very slow. If you go full in on Instana, you need to buy a certain quantity to be recognized with new features. I waited for some features for more than a year and considered it basic technology support (e.g. Java AWS SDK V2, DynamoDB).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instana covers all operation monitoring aspects on application and container layer, does alert on unexpected usage and most important resolve bugs, we would not be able to spot. Just to give an example. The website sensor runs in the customer browser and we can detect frequently occurring JavaScript errors for specific browsers and resolve them. To some extend thanks to user tracking we can also provide customer support capabilities with the SaaS service.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check your application stack against the supported technologies and do a small PoC. Instana is always open for something like that. If a technology is not available reach out. We did and they developed the support for us, so everything is possible.

What do you like best about the product?
1. Co-relation between front end and backend.
2. HTTP error stack trace.
3. Custom error declaration.
4. Easy set up of the alert monitoring with slack and opsgenie.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Navigation sometimes feels irritating.
2. If I don't have any access it is not straightforward to understand.
3. Sometimes I have seen data corruption or filter not working properly when I am trying to pinpoint or investigate some issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Tracking custom events for a better understanding of my product.
2. Alerting and monitoring.
3. Investigating specific API flow for a user to better understand the issue.

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is good, tracing is helpful and efficient.
The setup for new services is straightforward too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since the takeover by IBM, the support has been slower, it's harder to get someone to talk with.
The purchase process is also very cumbersome. It feels like all the heavy processes and corp culture of IBM are taking over the strength of Instana. Releases are also becoming slower and less reliable.
I'm not sure this product is worth it anymore.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Response time, errors, third-party monitoring.

A spectacular interfaz

What do you like best about the product?
The monitoring system is very effective, and I think it is impressive.
It is a well-designed system. We can see all the problems and successes in the platforms and other systems. The UI and UX of Instana are spectacular. After learning the basics of using this software, implementing it is very easy and intuitive. All the information is clear to see.
What do you dislike about the product?
Instana has more advanced functions than I need to implement frequently. But these functions, when I want to use them, are confusing. The interface sometimes shows too much information and the configuration options get lost. Maybe it's because of my little experience using other Instana functions. Still, I wish t was more intuitive in some parts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now, we can monitor the performance of some applications we are developing for some of our customers. We can also see how our systems are working. It is crucial for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My biggest recommendation is to have several dashboards, one for each process being monitored. It is crucial to have the information sorted to observe and evaluate it.
And the second recommendation is to monitor all relevant aspects that occur in the company. Of curse, monitoring is not always needed to solve problems; sometimes it is just to keep improving small things. In any case, it is great peace of mind for us to know how our system is working.

What do you like best about the product?
When coordinating a team that is not yet engaged, it is helpful to monitor a system that consists of different services. Also, its monitoring system has been enhanced, and I feel it is the most comprehensive one I have used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Instana may take some time to learn or get used to the program's language. So, the cost must include adaptation and learning period. It isn't a big problem. I like this software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Regarding the graphs and reports that the program issues, we use them regularly in internal team meetings. We want to analyze situations and make decisions that are necessary to improve the company's number.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't be so apprehensive about how complicated the interface might seem first. You can search tutorials on YouTube or talk with technical support to clear your doubts.
