  • October 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
vRealize Automation has been one of the best solutions that we have used from VMware so far apart from the others we have in our organization. The best thing with vRA would be the quick VM deployment that happens with few clicks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I could really mention about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are eliminating human errors, enabling self-provisioning for our users and most importantly increased our VM delivery over the previous methods that we followed.

Great product but SSO is a bit cranky. Sometimes the SSO breaks and it is difficult to repair this.

One Click Infrastructure Automation :-)

  • October 16, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Entire Infrastructure Automation made easier. Regardless of the endpoint like vCenter, VCD, AWS, GCP, etc, it makes your life easy in provisioning the VM and maintaining it.
It just doesn't give you servers vRA software components that can be used for configuring the VMs with Database, Application, etc.
The best thing in vRA8 is that we are out of Windows (IAAS) VM :-).
A word should be mentioned about the Xaas workflows. These workflows enable us to do a variety of things like
1) Setting up the hostname for servers
2) Connecting to various tools like F5, Infoblox, to do various tasks.
3) Do all the Day2 activities like patching.
What do you dislike about the product?
vRA7.6 and below versions are a bit difficult to setup. Especially the IAAS server. Even though for end-user it is just a click of a button, for admins to set up vRA is a little tedious job.
Managing the Reservations, backup of Blueprints and Xaas workflows are still yet to be in full flow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best thing that vRA can give you is it can build N number of VMs in the desired configured state. We can bring up an entire environment of VMs consisting of 100 - 150 VMs with the configurations of Database and Application in like 8 hours(Depending on the DB used).
Even if one of your Datacenter goes down vRA can help you rebuild it with minimum fuss.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking out for Automating your entire Infrastructure Provisioning vRA would be the tool to go. Especially vRA 8 with the versatility it provides. And in fact, vRA8 is easier for administrators to set up and maintain it. Saying that whatever you want you can configure and use it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is used for incident creation and day two operation work an and it saves operations team efforts and time.
