A reasonable alternative to excel
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it tracks who accessed it and edited each cell. It's a low barrier of entry alternative to more complex software products if you need something like excel but more easily sharable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data integrations are highly limited, especially in the affordable tiers of the product. It's far too easy to use Smartsheet as if it's an application and many users want to integrate it with other data sources. Data shuttle is a stop gap, but not a great long term solution to linking live data with simple data entry through front end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A simple data entry interface to track information that does not exist or belong in other systems.
Smooth and effecient in Managing Tasks, Projects and Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
The platform offers users a simple and intuitive interface. It allows easy data uploading, sheet creation, editing, and collaboration with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Minimal incompatibility with Excel and PDF files makes it difficult to perform tasks that require the use of Excel and PDF. Adding a function that matches these file types would make things easier for some of us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increased transparency: Smartsheets give us complete visibility into our projects, allowing us to track developments in real time and identify areas for improvement. This allowed us to react quickly to developing situations and make smart decisions.
A great way to share data within a team
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to share sheets and be able to work on them at the same time is invaluable. There are a plethora of different sheet setups that one can create to tailor it to a project of your choosing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a high learning curve to use some of the more in-depth features and take full advantage of all of the abilities Smartsheet offers. It's also more tailored towards a business setting as opposed to a laboratory setting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is allowing our team to be able to track the progression of project implementation very concisely and well. We are able to store all of the relavant information in one place.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a good timeline management tool for groups. I like that team members can be assigned to different tasks and everyone can view progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that I have to manually save changes often as to not lose any information. An auto-save feature would be great! I also wish there were different ways to view the timeline and tasks as they are completed vs. a list.

Gannt Charts and the ability to create multi-process flows
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficulty in collaborating with clients is explaining and using. Rigid and hard to create quick collaborative processes. Printing reports is VERY difficult and not presentation quality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are creating processes and using Gantt charts to define timelines.
It's got some navigation issues, but it's got some great features too.
What do you like best about the product?
I really love how Smartsheet simplifies project management for me. The way it displays tasks in a grid format makes planning so easy, and its seamless integration with our other software tools is a major advantage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe that there is room for improvement in the search functionality of Smartsheet. Sometimes, it takes longer than expected to find specific tasks or projects, which can delay productivity and efficiency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Smartsheet's extensive reporting features, I have gained a more thorough understanding of our project's progress. The detailed metrics provided by Smartsheet have given me the information needed to make informed decisions, resulting in optimized outcomes.
Smartsheet is a solid tool, but could use improvements
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to have mulitple collaborators working on the same document, allowing for real-time updates and efficient workflow, similar to other organization platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will say, one thing I think could be improved is the saving feature - I wish this was automated like Google Docs and Sharepoint rather than having to manually save.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps my organization maintain a centralized database of assets that can be shared across different teams, i.e. Product, IT, Marketing, Finance, Legal, etc. It helps us be more efficient and productive as we can always count on our collaboarative smartsheets to be updated without the process of manually requesting access.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked how everyone in the team can access the platform and edit their relevant tasks rather than the burden fall on one individual.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pulling the gant chart into a shareable document/visual can be difficult as they have to spend a while playing around with different formatting options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping me to track the delivery of workstreams happening across the team, highlighting the critical path and showing where resources are being used most intensively.
Is intelligent. Safe. Smart and user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
That task requiring long and elevated timelines are simplified because of the way dates are cascading when you modify one, no matter at wich point you do it in your work back schedule
What do you dislike about the product?
It usually means it's an additional tool, that clients do not always have access to. Also, the fact that you have to manually save your edits before someone else could see it complexifies the "same time" work you do with your colleagues
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its a visual way (many visual options too) to see what the next months in your life will look like, lol. I espacially appreciate the fact that you can put tasks under others.
Solid experience with room to grow
What do you like best about the product?
Love the ability to see what my team is making progress on in real-time. Cleaner interface and syncing than something like Google Sheets, with a lot more customization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the downloadable templates are too specific and not easily changed to fit our business' needs, though they do give you a good starting point to make something yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us manage our workflow when it comes to accounting, month-end closing processes, and creating and updating KPIs. It does this all with multiple users logged in to the same interface.
