Rapid development has transformed how we build internal subscription and integration apps while maintaining transparent pricing and strong support

  • November 28, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Mendix is rapid application development, so we develop multiple applications for internal purposes, and we use Mendix because we can develop it faster than a traditional programming language.

A specific example of an application I've built with Mendix is Subscription Tracker, where the user can get a subscription for a particular charger or manage their subscription.

What is most valuable?

The best features Mendix offers in my experience include that learning Mendix is very easy, the pricing is more transparent and cost-efficient, and Mendix environments are very highly scalable, supporting complex integration and having helpful AI features.

My experience with scalability and complex integrations includes a lot of integration with AWS systems and SAP systems, and I have integrated Mendix with Azure for SSO and the Auth0 system, making these integrations much easier than traditional programming languages. When it comes to scalability, we initially thought our application would require a small environment, but as users started using it, we understood it required more RAM and processing power, and we can scale the environment up or down with just a single click.

One feature I like most in Mendix is the reusable component, as it has its own marketplace where people like us publish widgets that can be used directly inside Mendix just by dragging and dropping it down.

What needs improvement?

Mendix can be improved in that, while it is good at pricing, it lacks a small business budget project for startups wanting to build their portfolio. The company can improve in that perspective, and I would suggest adding multiple language support such as Python or C++.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Mendix is stable in my experience, and day by day, the company is improving.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Mendix's scalability is great.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Mendix is great; they have SLAs, resolving production issues within minutes, standard support within a day, and low priority issues within three days.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We started with Mendix and did not use a different solution before it; although we reviewed other systems like OutSystems, we prefer Mendix because it is much easier to learn than OutSystems and the pricing is more efficient.

How was the initial setup?

I purchased Mendix directly from Mendix.

What about the implementation team?

My company has a business relationship with Mendix beyond being a customer; we are a partner.

What was our ROI?

Since Mendix is a low-code platform, the ROI is significant; we save a lot of money and require fewer people to do an application, reduced to two, which drastically decreases development time because this is not traditional programming; just drag and drop, and we can complete projects that would take years within months.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I do not have much experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing because the sales or business team usually handles that, and as a developer, I don't have a clear idea.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated OutSystems before choosing Mendix.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using Mendix is simple: just trust it. I give this review an overall rating of 9.

Rapid App Development Made Effortless with Mendix

  • November 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Mendix is how quickly it allows me to develop and deploy applications with minimal coding. The visual modeling interface is intuitive, making it easy to design complex workflows and business logic without writing everything from scratch. I also appreciate the seamless integration with other systems and cloud platforms, which saves a lot of development time. Collaboration is much easier because business users and developers can work on the same platform, speeding up the overall delivery process.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside of Mendix is that the platform can become complex for very large or highly customized applications. While the low-code approach is great for speed, advanced features sometimes require coding knowledge, which can slow down development for non-technical users. Additionally, licensing costs can be high for smaller teams, and performance can be affected if applications are not optimized properly. Some integrations also require extra effort to set up compared to traditional development platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mendix helps solve several key business problems, primarily by speeding up application development and improving collaboration between IT and business teams. It allows us to quickly create and deploy applications that automate manual processes, reducing errors and improving efficiency. The low-code platform enables faster prototyping and iteration, which helps address changing business requirements without long development cycles. Additionally, Mendix improves visibility and communication across teams, ensuring that business logic and requirements are accurately reflected in the applications. Overall, it saves time, reduces costs, and allows the organization to respond more quickly to business needs.

Has integrated complex systems and simplified app creation with very little coding

  • November 07, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have used Mendix for Teamcenter, integrating with Teamcenter using an API. I have created an app in Mendix for showing and mapping the data from Teamcenter and getting the data. I have also created other apps in Mendix, such as creating some data for student enrollment, including a registration form. I have also created many more projects in Mendix that I have already completed.

I have done integration mail projects. I have done other projects, including collecting data and student enrollments. I have also done a project where I created an AI robot that can talk and recognize your face. It will talk to you and answer what you are asking. I created it with the help of Mendix.

What is most valuable?

Mendix has handy tools, the UI is very good, and the toolset is also very good. There are multiple APIs there to integrate with anything, to other databases, or to connect with Teamcenter and other systems. I am also using Python for my robotics project. Very little coding is required in Mendix.

In my opinion, the best features Mendix offers include being a low-code software. Anyone who doesn't know how to code can definitely do coding and create an app in Mendix.

The low-code feature has helped my team and made my work easier because there are default templates, so we don't need to create or write code. We can just edit and create. There are templates and toolsets available. We don't need to create or write code for any API. There are also some apps that we can just download, connect, and work with.

Mendix has impacted my organization positively because we can work from anywhere. As we were doing in Python itself earlier, now we have created a Mendix app, and we can do our work there. There is no need to create or write Python code. We can do it easily, and anyone can. We just create users, they will log in, and they will write code or something, make changes, and implement it.

What needs improvement?

Since it's low-code, I would like Mendix to be web-based, so we shouldn't need to install Mendix to create an app.

For how long have I used the solution?

For the last four years, I have been using Mendix.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Mendix is stable in my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Mendix's scalability is great.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't used customer support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

What was our ROI?

I don't know about the return on investment with Mendix because I'm a techie. I don't know about the price.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't know my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Mendix.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I haven't evaluated any options before choosing Mendix.

As I don't know the price side, I can't advise others to use Mendix because it can be very costly in the current market. In the market for Mendix alternatives, there are other software options that are not like Mendix, but they are low-cost. So I don't know what advice I can give.

What other advice do I have?

I'm not facing any problems with my projects.

I was facing challenges connecting with real-time voice recognition, face recognition, and accessing data from other systems or databases while building that AI robot using Mendix and WebEx. However, Mendix helped me connect with other databases to get the data.

Currently, I have no additional thoughts about the features. It's great.

I have already answered all the questions regarding specific outcomes or metrics, including time saved.

I don't have any additional thoughts about Mendix before we wrap up. I would rate this review a 9 overall.

Has delivered fast app creation with AI and reduced field engineer visits through smart video solutions

  • October 29, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Mendix is to create smart applications in a fast way, applications that have integrations, use of AI, custom widgets, and so on. A quick, specific example of an application I've built with Mendix is an application with video calls, which stands out for me, and it's an application that I am really proud about. In this application, we have like two people talking in a video call and then the agent on the other side can take pictures from the user's phone, because the user's used his or her phone to join the call via a Mendix application, and then they talk to each other with a video call, pictures, drawing pictures, that kind of stuff.

What is most valuable?

The best features Mendix offers are easy deployment, fast application creation, easy to build logic, and lots of marketplace modules and components to use in your applications, so you don't have to reinvent the wheel. If you need to eventually customize code, you can do it by using JavaScript and Java, which just make things faster.

Mendix has positively impacted my organization, especially for clients, who are getting lots of benefits, particularly speeding up changes, because they eventually need to change business rules, or they need to change how their business works. Mendix makes sure that happens fast, and about the video call application I created, they now speed up their customer service by having that video call feature, meaning they don't really need to send engineers physically to the client's location to see what's going on. All they need to do is do a video call, take a few pictures remotely, and that's it. No need to drive, no need to spend fuel, money with the engineers' location relocation; saving money is the most valuable thing.

After implementing Mendix, they reduced by 98% the engineers' relocation, as 98% of the cases are now being done by video calls instead of in-person appointments, which says a lot, even though the company didn't provide any numbers on how much is saved.

What needs improvement?

It would be great for AI in Mendix to read my whole project and understand the whole business, so all I need to do is ask, hey, what does this button do, and why is that button there? AI could answer me why we have that button, and what that button does. I know that this is something in progress by Mendix; eventually, we will get that feature, but this is something that we definitely need because new developers that join a project might struggle to understand the whole business, especially in complex applications. I chose eight instead of a higher or lower number because Mendix would be a 10 if we have the feature that I just mentioned, like asking why that button is there and getting a clear answer about its business purpose. It would also be a 10 if we have a faster Studio Pro, like not taking too much time to process things, especially when projects are too large; those two aspects would make it a 10 for me.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Mendix for the last eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Mendix is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

You can scale Mendix using a private cloud, but if you want to scale it to a bigger instance, you have to contact a Mendix partner or the same Mendix partner that sold you the license.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Mendix is very good; we open a ticket, and they answer, of course depending on your plan, but it's very useful. I would rate customer support a nine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Mendix, I used to be a high-code developer, so I didn't really use a platform or solution; I coded with React, Node.js, MongoDB, which aren't actually platforms but open-source solutions.

How was the initial setup?

In the project that I'm working with, we are using the Mendix Cloud and with just a few clicks, we can deploy the application acceptance or production, which has made my work easier and more efficient because I don't really need to understand how DevOps works. I don't need to understand Kubernetes or Docker. All I need to do is to build my app and deploy it by just doing a few clicks. About the speed of development of app creation, I think it's just a matter of open Studio Pro, create the app, do all the pages logic we need, and then push to the point. So that's pretty much it.

What about the implementation team?

My company has a business relationship with Mendix as a partner, specifically an official partner.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Not much about pricing, as it's something that you have to reach a Mendix vendor to see what the possibilities are. From the pricing shown on the Mendix webpage, we have a basic package where you pay 60 Euros a month for five users and 10 Euros per additional user. This is all I know about pricing, but for a different size of Mendix Cloud, you have to consult an official Mendix vendor or partner.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated OutSystems before choosing Mendix.

What other advice do I have?

Right now, I'm working with AI, which is pretty new to me, but I'm learning a lot and Mendix makes sure we can use AI in a very smart and fast way by using the platform. My advice for others looking into using Mendix is to start with the basics; don't get rushed. Things will come up eventually and always ask for help. There are forums and lots of communities; you're not alone. It's a great platform to learn a lot and make a lot of money with it, so keep it going. The review rating for Mendix is 8.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

My Mendix review

  • October 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about the Mendix platform is that it accelerates the speed of software development.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things that I dislike about the Mendix platform is inability to run asynchronous operations efficiently and effectively. It's possible, I'll grant Mendix that, but I do think that there's a lot to improve to make it useful in production environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm predominantly solving business problems for client organizations. What we typically see is where an organization will typically or actually have a spreadsheet to administer some information, manage it and draw insights from it. We can do it better, more effectively and more user friendly than a canvas of rows, columns and cells. This is benefitting me in the sense that I get to solve these issues.
