Great Support from Staff, But Platform Lags Behind Competitors
What do you like best about the product?
Our representative conducting the audit, Stephan Smit, has done a great job in helping us to prepare for ISO 27001 certification.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Scytales platform itself is significantly behind competitors such as Vanta and Drata, with respect to its features, functionality, reliability etc. It has been frustrating to use, lacks the depth and complexity of automated testing that other platforms include, and lacks the number of integrations supported by its competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us to aggregate audit evidence for ISO 27001 certification.

What do you like best about the product?
I truly appreciate Scytale for their clear and professional communication. The team is incredibly responsive and supportive, which makes a significant difference for us. Their regular touch-base sessions provide a great avenue for ongoing collaboration and ensure that we are always aligned. This kind of communication establishes them as a very reliable partner in our compliance efforts. Additionally, the feedback we receive from Scytale is both practical and of high quality, which is crucial given that we are not experts in compliance ourselves. Their insights are consistently insightful and precise, providing high-quality guidance essential for improving our processes and outcomes. I find their detailed, no-nonsense feedback to be incredibly valuable, and their operational efficiency has been impressive. The careful and consistent evaluation of our platform ensures that our SOC compliance is never overlooked. These elements collectively reflect their commitment to delivering excellence, and I find their service to be indispensable.

I would have liked more visual guides perhaps to integrate my softwares with the Scytale integration, but it is already sufficiently intuitive

I greatly appreciate the professional consultants working with Scytale. They are super efficient, always on track, and highly responsive. It feels like they are truly part of our team, adding immense value by handling major aspects of the audit process, helping us achieve the results we need. I also find the auto connect feature particularly beneficial as it enhances the connectivity with our internal systems, reducing the time we would otherwise spend connecting everything manually. Furthermore, the initial setup of Scytale was super easy, requiring minimal effort from our end, which streamlined the onboarding process significantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the platform itself could be a bit more intuitive. The process of collecting evidence and navigating through audits to get to the controls is a bit complicated and could potentially be made easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Scytale for SOC 2 Type 2 audits, streamlining evidence uploading, tracking action items, and integrating with internal systems, which saves time by automating connections.

What do you like best about the product?
I highly value Scytale for simplifying and automating compliance management. The platform centralizes all controls, evidence, tasks, and audit requirements, significantly easing the operation of our ISO and SOC2 programs. Its centralized structure offers one of the biggest efficiency gains by eliminating the complexity of managing spreadsheets, scattered documents, and multiple communication channels. The clear task ownership ensures continuous readiness, which is crucial for us. Additionally, their customer success team stands out for providing fast and knowledgeable support, which alongside their strong tooling, greatly reduces the burden of managing a compliance program. The ease of integration with our existing tools to receive automatic evidence and configuration checks was a major reason for switching from Confluence to Scytale. The initial setup was very straightforward, and overall, these features contribute to a seamless experience that enhances efficiency and readiness in our compliance efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some integrations are not fully operational, but the support is fast to fix these issues as they arise. The Trust Center could have more features for customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Scytale to streamline and centralize our compliance program. It reduces manual work, maintains control mappings, automates reminders, enhances audit consistency, and ensures continuous audit readiness, significantly boosting efficiency and minimizing human error in our ISMS operations.
A solid solution for compliance
What do you like best about the product?
Scytale offers a thorough and effective approach to compliance. The company also ensures strong customer support through the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Core features are in-place, but there are some QoL features that seem to be in the works. For example, they provide a solid policy editor who's API implies the support for version control, however the UI itself does not seem to have a "review history" functionality in place yet.

Getting solid evidence for SOC 2 compliance is challenging. Scytale provides structure, support, and templates that simplify the process.
Made SOC 2 feel manageable
What do you like best about the product?
But honestly, the biggest value was the human side. Tamanna Nankoomar was incredible — deeply knowledgeable, super practical, and consistently proactive. She translated the SOC 2 requirements into real actions that fit how a startup actually operates, and she kept us moving calmly through every phase. Having someone like Tamanna in the loop removed ambiguity and stress, especially close to audit deadlines.

The platform had it share of bugs with integration, not intuitive flow

Scytale solved the heavy lift of SOC 2 by turning it from a vague, spreadsheet-driven scramble into a clear, guided process with automated evidence collection and tight control tracking. That let us reach SOC 2 quickly without pulling the team off core product work, while staying confident we were meeting auditor expectations.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Scytale combines the ability to gather and integrate information, streamlining the process of evidence collection for SOC two certification. The platforms provide the crucial function of integrating data, making the evidence collection process much easier and automatic. The added benefit of working with a consultant hand-in-hand on a weekly basis makes the experience even more valuable, simplifying the review and certification journey significantly. I also appreciate the risk assessment module, which automates the tedious tasks involved in risk assessment, making the process seamless and efficient. This feature saves me hours of work, especially when I have to present risk details to management confidently. Additionally, the initial setup of Scytale was incredibly easy thanks to its excellent documentation. The detailed guidance allows me to integrate applications smoothly, offering a well-documented process that leaves little room for error. My high level of satisfaction is reflected in my willingness to recommend Scytale to other clients and also use it for compliance checks like ISO twenty-seven thousand one.
What do you dislike about the product?
I experienced some challenges with Scytale's integrations. There were specific integrations that did not function as expected, which seemed to require bug fixes. These issues were not extensive but did cause some disruptions. Since this is one of my first experiences preparing an organization for SOC 2, I may not have a comprehensive list of needed features or areas for improvement, but I anticipate that more insights and potential areas for enhancement might emerge over time.

I use Scytale to simplify my SOC 2 readiness by automating evidence collection and integrating with various apps, making the process more efficient and less time-consuming. It also aids in seamless risk assessments, saving me hours by providing comprehensive reports for management.
Effortless and Smooth Experience with GRC Manager Integration
What do you like best about the product?
Great platform for managing compliance frameworks. in addition to great support from a dedicated GRC manager, things are smooth and easy to understand and implement

Integration mismatch but over all integrations works well. some duplicates in data but that is expected

Clarifying the SOC2 process makes it much easier for technical teams to understand the requirements and what is expected of them.
