Keeper checks all of our business' boxes

  • September 20, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an administrator, Keeper was an easy choice because of its robust product and its incredible customer service team. Deployment was a breeze, their help articles helped streamline onboarding, and their UX design is impressive. As a user, I could not be happier with my experience. From custom record types to its clean search feature to secure password sharing, and everything in between, I would recommend Keeper to anyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
As an admin it has been frustrating not being able to assign people to "Teams" before they enroll. Having to remember to go back and add them after (or sometimes forgetting entirely) has been a challenge. Sometimes the "sharing" settings on shared folders can be unintuitive and I have come across situations where people have read/write permissions but could only read. This could be user error, but it has been sometimes difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since we are a remote company, cybersecurity is at the forefront of our business, and we needed a reliable and secure system that was easy for all employee types to use in order to securely create, store, and share passwords.

What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally has quirkiness swapping profiles (work and personal) on mobile but getting better with every update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password management and security through complexity and unique passwords.

A solid password storage solution with some drawbacks

  • September 13, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's an easy and effective tool for creating, storing, and managing passwords. It helps ensure the creation of strong passwords to maximize account security and makes it relatively easy to access and auto fill those passwords when needed at login. There are various categories that you can use to organize your accounts and password information, but I rarely use this functionality since the tool automatically detects stored passwords when you access a particular website.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few drawbacks are that professional accounts that allow personal password management store separately on different devices, which makes it difficult and sometimes complicated to manage which passwords are being saved to which account. Another drawback is that the auto fill button is often overlapping with the decode/display password character button on some websites, which can make it a little difficult to easily click and have the auto fill feature work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me create strong, secure passwords and maintain account security. It also helps make those strong passwords easy to manage by storing them in an intuitive and easy to navigate format.

Upcharge Away!

What do you like best about the product?
Keeper is simple to use. I've actually been a customer for about 8 years. They have an easy plugin, lots of great features. It's a great product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had a business subscription for 5 years now. They have started slowly changing their billing practices. They now have minimum user counts - so even though we only have two users, we are charged for 5. That's not a big deal. But, we are now being charged more than $800 of extras that we cannot opt out of - if we want to keep our simple password repository. We like the product. We don't like the shady business practices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeper helps us keep our passwords and other confidential information secure. That having been said, we won't be renewing because of their deceptive billing practices.

What do you like best about the product?
I'm very satisfied with Keeper security. What I like best is the ability to save many records and share records knowing that it is secured. Thanks!
What do you dislike about the product?
So far it is good for now. Sometime keeper does not work in Safari.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None, but I heard that Keeper sometimes does not work with Safari on Mac machines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Using Keeper Password Manager is efficient.

Interesting for security automation

What do you like best about the product?
User interface is easy to use and intuitive. Sharing secrets with persons in my organization is easy and fast!
Ability to access the vault programatically with python and javascript has been great for our automation needs
What do you dislike about the product?
When sharing secrets, folder structure is not mantained which makes it REALLY hard for the receiving user to organize secrets.
When restoring deleted secrets from the recycle bin, folder structure is not mantained
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing database credentials is always tricky, by automating using KSM, the process is now done securely and automatically. Our delivery time for new infrastructure deployments has been cut significantly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Completely understand how KSM and one time tokens work its paramount to a correct product usage

An amazing tool and a great team.

  • June 20, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The overall tool is not much different from other similar password managers.
But some features made it easier to integrate with the identity provider (IdP) along with the possibility to share secrets with business partners without making them download or go for a demo of the tool, which is a real winner.
The API and the possibility to use the Key service message (KDM) integrated with FIPS 140-2 compliant systems for secret creation and storage is just another level and one of the prefered features available in Keeper Security.
The cost of the solution and its flexibility of it makes it a no-brainer compared with others in the market.
Also the availability and professionalism of the team is evident throughout,
Great products, great team and great cost in a nutshell.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are so good and available and professional that you almost get annoyed that you cannot find a flaw or an issue to pick on.
Jokes aside nothing to dislike, just a great team and product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password management integrated with IdP
Password security including protection against reuse and stuffing.
Password sharing to clients and business partners that do not use the solution.
Keeper Secrets Manager for our cloud deployments and other uses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at it from the full capabilities that it can offer, not just password management, you might be surprised and reduce from 2 or 3 tools to just Keeper Security.

Managing Keeper for 2 years

  • June 09, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm managing Keeper for 2 years and there are several features I like the most which I haven't seen in the other password managers:
1) Read-only access to the records - you cannot copy the password from Keeper and paste it into the field. But you can only insert it using a plugin integrated into the browser. That makes it harder to copy or revoke the password
2) 2FA saving option. You can store 2FA TOTP there which makes it nearly impossible to steal a record since only the creator of the record has ever seen TOTP. Keeper produces only TOTP keys, TOTP QR or TOTP has cannot be extracted back from Keeper.
3) Good integration with Google Workspace (Admin) makes it easier to administrate.
4) Doesn't allow to use plugin to enter password to access Keeper Vault or Keeper Admin. Quite a simple thing but I've seen worse behavior in other managers
5) Password windows are doubled - it is popup in the upper right corner and a tooltip in every input field. Clicking popup is usually faster rather than accessing the field's tooltip.
What do you dislike about the product?
Yes, there are some cons regarding Keeper:
1) We have server-based Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Each time I login there Keeper always messes around with the password to insert. Sometimes it offers Confluence password for Jira, sometimes Jira password for Confluence despite the URL specified in the record.
2) Sometimes either Chrome or Keeper plugin says that the plugin itself slows down the page and disables. Especially inconvenient that is in the same Jira server when you are working on a project and need to re-login again after a certain amount of time which is not possible and you need to copy-paste credentials from the other opened page or smth.
3) We are working with Yubi keys. It is working in Keeper and supported but for the Admin Console there is a possibility to select how often 2FA request will come up (every time, 1 time in 30 days, etc). Unfortunately it is not possible to select this period since the dropdown box is overlapped with a window requesting the key. And when you touch the key Keeper immediately switches to the next page disallowing you to select the period. Kinda of a bug I think.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problem it resolves - sharing access for different systems within world-wide team. Different sharing levels allow it share in a smart way, not just "send everything"
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keeper plugins are available for any browser and it is easy to setup without any help from administrator side

Excellent Password/Secrets Management

  • June 06, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Well-integrated UI, secure sharing between employees and teams, externally shareable "one-time" secrets, and a personal license for each employee to secure their non-corporate personal information (which is a nice benefit and helps encourage personal Online Safety). New features are added regularly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've been thinking hard but had trouble finding any real complaints. Most of the initial tweaks/suggestions I would have suggested around UI improvements have already been incorporated by their product team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Securely sharing secrets between employees/teams. Restricting access to secrets upon employee departure. Securely sharing secrets with external parties who do not have the software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The product itself is fantastic, but above and beyond that, with an Enterprise license, each employee also receives a Family Subscription for their own use while they are an employee. This encourages good online hygiene and security and is an extra benefit to employees.
