Great collaboration tool for multiple teams

  • June 19, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable easily enables users to create personal views from the main book. These views can be filtered upfront, saved and later on be used in different stakeholder meetings (where each stakeholder is looking into a topic from a different angle). No data maintenance of several tables as all is directly synced. Colour coding and pre-formatted tables are really user-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Gantt-chart is a nice feature, but the zooming function is not working that well for me (either too much detail or not enough). This highly depends on the specific project timelines of course.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy overviews for work-meetings with different departments, enabling to focus really easily on what stakeholders need.

A game changer at work!

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to use automations to automate repetitive tasks to help save time and drive efficiences with employees. It is 'nicer' to use than Excel (and looks better), although it can't do all the same things as Excel to be fair.
It is MUCH easier to have multiple people looking at the same data and just create different Views, with different filters/sorting/grouping set up. Information is knowledge, knowledge is power... You can get a lot of info in one place on Airtable and easily link it, which means you only need to put it in one place, then link elsewhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some limitations with the Interfaces, but these are getting better slowly. Some discrepancies with the Admin Panel (it is confusing as to who is an Editor of which Org Unit etc).
Need an expensive Editor license, even if you're someone that just needs to tick one Checkbox on one table! THey need to introduce another license that has restricted Editor rights (but I believe something might be coming).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dealing with Workflows which involve multiple departments e.g. managing a Contract, as it is uploaded, then goes for Approval, then onto the next stage and so on.

What do you like best about the product?
It's flexibility! I can build something to be as simple or as complex as I like, and the possibilities are endless. It also make db design fun- almost gamified. Endless features that are constantly updated - if something is missing it tends to be added soon.

Poor data anayltics abilities, and no native powerbi integration is annoying

Production control, avoiding expensive niche software and uilding solutions on our own.

Powerful Platform with Some Support Issues

  • June 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AirTable is powerful, customizable, and configurable in ways that allow my team to accomplish almost any task, even as non-technical users. While there is a learning curve, a few quick trainings and time to "play" allow individuals to very quickly understand what's possible, with plenty of room to grow that knowledge base over time. It's feature rich and they are consistently improving at both small, quality of life levels, and big additions. Compared to out-of-the-box options for project management or workflow development, it's hard to imagine a better tool. Members across our University are using AirTable every day and interest grows from others as we achieve success with the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
While our initial support from AirTable was friendly and strong, the past year to 18 months have been a struggle. Unresponsiveness, unhelpfulness, bouncing between support representatives constantly. We've also experienced a frustrating lack of customer service from the billing and accounts receivable side as well.

Licensing, provisioning, and permissions is also an issues we still have not yet seemed to crack. The flexibility of adding licenses is nice, but the timeline and understanding of the "true up" process is opague, and it's hard to budget with that in mind. We received a discount for being an educational non-profit, but the product does continue to grow in price rapidly as we add more users, given its per seat style. For higher education, it would be better to price as other Ed Tech companies do and look at University size.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AirTable is helping us solve many issues across our office, and other offices around campus. Primarily we use AirTable for workflow and project management surrounding events and collateral development, but it runs the gamut: PTO tracking, staff management, easy explorable data dashboards, donation wardrobe inventory, and budget tracking. The only barrier preventing even more usage is AirTable's unwillingness to review our DPA below a certain annual licensing cost.

Airtable has been a gamechanger for me, professionally

  • June 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I keep telling people how flexible Airtable is, and how it allows to showcase data from different perspectives, which gives so much power to Analysis and scorecard type of angles
What do you dislike about the product?
It should enhance its automation features and add more type of fields, that way it could leverage its competitors more
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have all our cases database stored in Airtable, and with its synced tables function, we can have cross-functional bases. Also, it's made our process easier with the automation feature, notifying collaborators and making sure we are on track with every case we handle

Relational databasing for dummies (like me)

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm an accredited Airtable developer who designs custom bases on a daily basis. Easily editable/accessible user interfaces are what makes Airtable stand out to me compared to similar products. Low code automation and custom data integrations make it easy to work with data and revolutionize the user's workflow. Rollouts and implementations have been widely successful for customers and users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable does have a learning curve for its more complex elements, and many features are locked behind different licensing tiers or are only available to enterprise users. Implementing product updates can also be a challenge. Some integrations are limited, and often, a third-party service (Zapier) is necessary to fully implement a solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable solves issues with database solutions that are easily accessible to end users.
