Simple mobile spreadsheet
What do you like best about the product?
Lightweight, mobile integration, versatile uses, multiple view types
What do you dislike about the product?
Mobile app has limited functionality, could use more support in programming functions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Airtable to track project progress, to support our product reference library, track to-dos, and as a sign-up sheet solution at events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Airtableis great for simple straight forward needs. It will not support complex database manipulation needs, but is a great simple and light weight way of sharing information.
Excellent Tool for Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is a super flexible and robust space where my colleagues and I can collate and retrieve info quickly and clearly. It super for sharing out and gives everyone access to the up to the minute info which is crucial for our department.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to get help on the phone for customer service and the proprietary vocab airtable uses to describe basic spreadsheet components get very confusing when using the web-based help tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable helps us get info out of individual emails and into a space where everyone can see it and use it. It is streamlining our communications internally and externally.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is great tool for teams.
Very useful for any org if you have the budget
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use, and combines functionalities of a relational database with the easy-to-use nature of Google sheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, the pricing model is not flexible for client facing use. Additionally, your data is somewhat stuck in airtable as the CSV export option is very limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for a nonprofit that is always gathering and analyzing data. Anything that used to be done with Google Sheets or Access can be done with airtable.
Great for keeping on top of multiple projects
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable makes it easy to take a birdseye view of all the projects you have on the go, while also being able to easily dig into the detail. It's also really beautifully designed and fun to use!
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't found anything yet! Just my own time limitations at learning to make the best use of all the built in functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Am more able to keep on top of multiple marketing and comms activities, and track interdependencies.
Database for Dummies
What do you like best about the product?
Actually, Airtable is a brilliantly engineered online database for smart people that see value in organizing people, resources, activities, and absolutely anything else you can think of. I love the ease of use, the flexibility of the platform, and the freedom to include everyone within your sphere either via free user, or public form.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable is wonderful, though not perfect. I've attempted to create database tables ("bases" in Airtable speak) with a large number of records. Unfortunately, a base with a large number of records tends to slow the platform down dramatically, so much so that I broke my database into many bases so that each base has no more than, say 100 records. This has worked well for me, though I can imagine this may not be a solution for everyone.
Another significant drawback is the lack of a "Search Across Bases" functionality. Over a period of time, I have assembled quite a store of resources within Airtable across perhaps 25 or 30 bases. There are times when I am unable to recall the exact base within which I recorded a certain resource. With a "Search Across Bases" functionality, I would have not problem finding anything and everything I have quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, such a search functionality simply does not yet exist in Airtable.
The third Airtable drawback is the Airtable Iphone/Ipad app not having the ability to truly mirror the various views available in the online version of Airtable. For instance, I use "Groups" extensively on Airtable's online version, though "Groups" are simply unavailable on my iPhone. It's actually a big deal as I am unable to view the data in the same way while I'm out and about.

Airtable has helped me organize all of my resources, budgets, activities, and people associated with my startup. I have found there to be huge benefits in using a mind-mapping app like Mindmeister in conjunction with using a database app like Airtable. Mindmapping initially helps me to get all of my thoughts out of my head, for instance, and creating database tables (or bases) thereafter within Airtable allows me to structure my data with more precision and clarity.
I intend to upgrade my Airtable account to take advantage of the advanced functionality available in the Pro version. I do believe that Airtable should make available the advanced functionality on the Plus version for a limited number of people within an organization (for small startups like my own). Had they done so, I would be a paying customer already. In any case, I am grateful for Airtable's functionality and Free plan availability.

Helps us keep track of spare parts
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has a nice balance between power and simplicity. The supporting documentation and video tutorials make it straightforward to set up something that gives us far more power and flexibility than a simple spreadsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support was a little slow to respond at times, however this was possibly worsened by being on the other side of the globe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to help log spare parts and consumables as part of a AV production rental house. We also use it as a "to-do" list for staff which saves us running multiple systems.
Database, Financial Tracker, Project Management and more!
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is a database and then some! Perfect for gathering, storing, and viewing various types of information ranging from an easy to navigate contact list, to "at a glance" budget reports. Views make it quick, easy, and effective to manage how a user sees and stores data.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the web version a work of art, the mobile app is a little behind in features. There is active discussion about closing this gap though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Contacts lists, expense reporting, surveys, donations tracking, equipment tracking, project management, calendar
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to understand all of the different field types. Almost every function you can think of can be performed, it just takes a little ingenuity.
Organization Done Right
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I am able to easily keep track of information with my colleagues and everyone is able to stay on one page.
What do you dislike about the product?
It works very well for what I use it for. There's not really anything I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are keeping track of our sales pipeline and forecasts. It makes it easy to collaborate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It works for me and my company.
Great project tracking program with lots to offer.
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use for an entire team. Can add as much or as little detail as you want for a project record.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have yet to find an issue. Usually when I ask, "oh can it do this or that?"... it usually can.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creates a better, smoother workflow for us, making it easier for the entire team to understand the project status, and next steps.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Might as well give the trial version a try if you really need a solution. That's what we did, and we liked it, so we went for it. It seems to be working out!
