Pretty Impressive

What do you like best about the product?
I would like to say it is a pretty impressive software with tons of capabilities but that does come with a catch. The catch is pretty much learning everything on your own or through forums and taking time to tinker. So sometimes if you need to quickly piece together a project it can be both a blessing and a curse depending on how simple or complex youre needing it to be.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think for how impressive the technology is theres still some features that could/should be included and has a ton of potential to grow. Some features seem simple and like it couldve been easy solution for but gets complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping create effeciencies as well as bring together a simple single source of truth for our project manegment and data.

Digitize Business Workflows/ Processes in Weeks, not Months

What do you like best about the product?
We have our own dedicated software developers to create internal applications for our special use cases, but the design meetings, testing, and maintenance of these internal applications are long and inflexible. With Airtable, we are able to modernize our workflows without having to go the route of custom software where our end users can easily make updates as business requirements change without having to wait months for someone in IT. As a comparator, two different teams with similar workflows embarked to modernize it. One team worked with our developers while the other used Airtable. The team using Airtable had an internal tool ready to use in 30 days vs the custom software route which took 8 months and does not look as polished or have nearly as many integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our most common use cases for Airtable is requesting items from different departments and asking others outside our organization to update records. There is no easy way to set up a form for another team to request items like adding items to a shopping cart. You are confined by the number of fields you set up. Also, while the release of portals helps with having others update records without paying for a full license, it still isn't economically viable for someone who would touch Airtable once a quarter to have a portals license.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to create internal workflows/ applications fast and allow our teams to customize that solution as their needs change without having to tap IT resources.

What do you like best about the product?
I love Airtable's ability to sync data across multiple tables, it's visual offerings for viewing + understanding information and it's ability to make my job easier through automations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! Any "issues" I have with airtable end up being me coming upon a feature I just need to learn more about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable helps me convey data across different tables with different views for internal and external audiences. It also solves the issue of maintaining reminders and contact via automations.

Fantastic Data and Automation Tool

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable makes building complex automations and databasing accessible to the average user. The UI is excellent, so it doesn't need any other tools to dress it up. The integrations are also pretty extensive, so there's bound to be a tool in your arsenal that works with Airtable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the formulas are lacking - sometimes you have to use workarounds for something that would be simple on a different tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the coolest things that Airtable has done is to bring some of our most popular database tables into a more accessible environment. So, for the average user that doesn't know SQL, they can still access valuable data and utilize it to enrich what they do on their team. I love that people can build useful tools that are relevant to our company and share them so they are public tools. This has saved me a ton of time, as I'm able to build off of some of our more capable developers.

My Experience with Airtable as an Employee

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has maximized our company's daily logistical and information management to allow us to streamline data with it being in the same place, rather than across many platforms as we used before. It is nearly entirely customizable and personizable which is helpful as different team members have different needs/preferences in the info they use and need. We depend on this system everyday for reliable customer data and communication. It is quick and easy to access which is critical with live support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge I have with Airtable is that there is no live human support or assistance. With as complex and flexible Airtable can be, I occassionally get overwhelmed with the possibilites or am unsure how to execute steps to get the end result I want. There is a good community page and tons of videos on Youtube, but sometimes straightforward with a person step by step is best and helps one truly learn. It did have a large learning curve for us, but once the systems are built and in place, it's a breeze to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable majorly consolidated the number of additional platforms and processes we used simply to keep ourselves and our customer information/job cycles organized. This simplifies my job with fewer places to check and update daily, making me and my time more efficient and effective. Each step was slow and cumbersome, not to mention redundant to be sure nothing got lost or forgotten. The way my team can now work together to see the same up to date information in one reliable place has modernized us from manually updating spreadsheets to being consistent and quick.

Understanding how to work the automations takes some time but there are tons of resources online to help with what you need.

What do you like best about the product?
My organization was already good at using spreadsheets to stay organized, but Airtable has so many more capabilities than a spreadsheet. The abilities it has to automatically populate fields through linked records, automations, or integrated forms; to visualize information in a multitude of ways, and to connect databases across our whole organization have made our info-tracking processes so much less confusing and more seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
For folks who more traditionally prefer keeping themselves organized through pen and paper, or simpler digital tools, Airtable can be a bit overwhelming. There is certainly a learning curve to the software. I appreciate their learning library of explanatory videos and written guides, but having a few more beginner tutorials that really break things down and have more examples would be helpful.

Another detail is that most Airtable templates seem to cater to the business realm; my nonprofit organization has been able to adapt many of these to our needs by translating things like customers to service clients and etc, but having more templates directly relevant to the nonprofit world would be a game-changer, as my nonprofit is now using Airtable across our entire workplace, so there is definitely a market for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is allowing us to become less siloed in our data storage; we are now able to connect things like our contact lists across programs, where every staff member can access this data in one convenient spot. The added benefit is we can connect data fields from their individual bases to the main contact info base, allowing staff to make updates in their own working bases but have the changes be reflected for everyone; this is easier and more intuitive for staff than having to make updates in the main contact info base.

The multitude of ways to visualize data from the same base has also been a radically positive change, as some of our programs really benefit from being displayed as more than a simple list-style spreadsheet. Being able to group/sort by status, see deadlines on a calendar, or limit views to certain fields has made it much easier to comprehend the frequent and/or complex changes in our work.

The automation features also help reduce the manual labor of transferring data from one spot to another and ensure accuracy.

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable can be used to collect and manage a wide variety of data. There are many integrations that allow users to do things like generate letters based on a template, maps, dashboards etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrations sometimes break and require troubleshooting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking grant payments, contact information and qualitative notes.
