Merge Accounting API review

  • December 26, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Merge is incredibly easy to use and understand. Their biggest feature by far is their native flexibility and transparency. They allow you to see everything that is happening under the hood making it easy to understand what is happening and to make your own design decisions about what abstractions might be made.

On top of that they have amazing support and are super responsive to all of our issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Merge's more flexible model is that you will run into more issues when you first integrate, but this is a worthwhile price to pay for the flexibilty and transparency they provide you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Merge solves the normalization of multiple financial data apis into a single schema. They dramatically lower the cost of implementation for us.

Smooth Onboarding Experience

  • December 22, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Customer success team is very well equipped with answers to both technical and business questions. The product is rather easy to use with support articles that gives clear instructions. Onboarding was rather straightforward and well supported. The concept of the product makes a lot of sense, i haven't used it intensively to give in depth review of the value proposition and usability yet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data can be over normalized some times as a typical downside of normalized API. Looking for more flexibilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integration with a large number of HRIS and Ticketing systems without having to worry about storing credentials.

What do you like best about the product?
Merge has been easy to work with from day one. From the start of the partnership until now, Merge has been great in guiding us through our needs. Merge employees are able to break down details in their processes to help bring solutiosn to the forefront. I felt as though I was able to put all of my trust in them to help deliver the best results! Thank you Merge for building such a great product and hiring people who are passionate, enagged and true partners with all who you work with!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not necessarily a dislike, but I am eager for more features to be rolled out over the course of time. Every update the Merge team rolls out brings greater use to team members like me and I am always hungry for more! Keep them coming and keep them coming quickly! I am so excited for what's next!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Merge is helping me take on the overwhelming task of managing APIs and all that come with them and their unification.

Merge defines and leads the industry standard in API unification

  • December 21, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Merge's value proposition is easy to understand (handle the hard part of unifying commonly use APIs for you) and it genuinely delivers on it. It's easy enough to be impressed with the offering as shipped, but Merge continues to add new features too. Adding new features in a way that's useful rather than spammy is very welcome and shows good product insight. The whole package genuinely makes the integration process not only way cheaper but more reliable too, because if there are any issues, Merge are the experts in their field and can be contacted for support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that comes to mind is happening upon an API that Merge hasn't integrated with yet, but that feels like a matter of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to feel locked in to certain providers in a startup. Changing between integrating with different providers can be such a significant undertaking on its own that the benefits of switching may not end up being worth it. With Merge, those choices are easier because the APIs don't change for the startup -- just a toggle on what provider is being used. Not being locked in is very freeing, not to mention general improved reliability.

Seamless integration and impressive responsiveness

  • December 19, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
As the CEO and founder of Fondo, I'm very satisfied with our journey using Merge. The initial setup and integration process was impressively smooth. Integrating Merge into our existing React/Next/Django stack was a breeze. The simplicity in weaving their APIs into our system for data handling was equally impressive.

What stands out most about Merge is the breadth of their integration options and their team’s quick response to our feedback. They've shown remarkable speed in enhancing features, particularly the admin dashboard. This dashboard is a goldmine of features, including proactive alerts for integration hiccups, complete with detailed explanations, usually related to permission issues.

From the perspective of our end-users, Merge delivers a frictionless experience. We've seen numerous clients integrate their ATS/HRIS systems effortlessly. The integration process itself, refined through thoughtful UX design, is typically completed in minutes.

We've been very impressed with Merge's ability to provide an exceptional integration experience for end-users and ease of internal management.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only area for improvement I see is in expanding their HRIS system coverage and branching into new domains like cap table management. However, I recognize that some constraints, such as the lack of public-facing APIs from partners, are outside Merge's control.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrations with QBO + payroll providers

Great tool to accelerate integration development timeline

  • December 13, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
They cover a broad universe of tools within the HRIS universe and have wonderful documentation
What do you dislike about the product?
The request process for additional HRIS's is via support, and I wish there was a self-serve way to indicate we would benefit from an incremental integration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to ship 40+ integrations with HRIS providers in 3 weeks

Amazing customer support and product

  • December 08, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It’s a really great product experience. The docs and dashboard are very clear and we are able to get answers easily from their customer success team. Their customer success team is fantastic. I’m able to get responses quickly and they’re very responsive.

We use Merge pretty extensively across several categories, and see them adding new integrations every month.
What do you dislike about the product?
This isn’t Merge’s fault necessarily, but sometimes API providers will be difficult with sandbox access. Merge has some sandboxes, but there are a few that are missing where we’d love UI access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wouldn’t be able to build this many integrations in-house with the number of people we have. It’s really difficult to scale support and maintain all of these connectors. Using Merge allows us to focus on our core product and move more quickly.

Makes HRIS integrations seamless

  • December 07, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Merge allows us to easily integrate with over 50 HRIS products which is enormously helpful as an early stage start-up where integrations are a key part of our product. The range of further integrations mean we're going to use Merge to integrate with other tools like project management platforms quickly and easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The jump in pricing tiers from 3 free connected accounts is significant for us as an early stage start-up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Merge allows us to build one integration into our SaaS product but offer that same integration to customers with pretty much any HR platform on the market. This is enormously valuable.

Easy and smooth onboarding

  • December 03, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The first and most important thing is the onboarding process of merge which is very smooth and not confusing making it clear that how the product works and how to set up it
What do you dislike about the product?
The process is a bit long but overall it's very interactive so it doesn't feel boring
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes easy for me instead of choosing different api for my work unified api does it

Cut our integration time into pieces

  • December 01, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love how Merge transforms complex integration tasks into a breeze, significantly boosting our workflow efficiency. It's incredibly user-friendly and reliable, making it an essential tool in our tech arsenal.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have yet to have any problems or complaints about the product or the team
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We integrate with a number of accounting softwares and ERPs. Instead of building and maintaining 10+ integrations we now only have to deal with 2. And Merge is infinitely more communicative and helpful than the actual APIs under the hood, so when we have a problem or question its easy to find someone to talk to
