Great product, sensible data model and quick development

  • September 01, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I would say the main advantage of using Wiz is not actually any one feature, but rather the responsiveness of the product and account management teams to our needs. Development is quick and new features drop regularly.
What do you dislike about the product?
As someone who was unfamiliar with products such as Wiz in the past, getting my head around the security graph and especially its API took some time. However the product team was responsive and willing to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an architect, I'm not the typical user of Wiz. We use it within our organisation to monitor our cloud environment, and are very happy with it. Recently I've been using the API provided by the Wiz DSPM solution to automatically discover data assets and ingest them into a data catalogue solution. This helps overcome a shortcoming by pretty much all data catalogue solutions, namely lacking autodiscovery of data assets.

Wiz - Wonderful tool to efficiently tackle security risks in the cloud

  • September 01, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wiz is really easy to deploy. The onboarding process takes only a few minutes. Quickly after, you get the full visibility on your cloud environments.
Wiz allows you to focus on the most important security issues in your environment. The platform comes with so many built-in rules that it allows you to efficiently evaluate your security risks. The product is flexible and let you create your own rules, for simple or complex scenarios. Their Security Graph is very easy to query.
The Wiz UI is very intuitive and is easily adopted by various teams, even those with no security background.

Wiz platform is consistently evolving, with new features or improvements on existing capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't block threats on workloads with Wiz. If you wish to have an active workload protection, you will have to rely on another product to complement Wiz.
Wiz is only doing periodic scans. The near-realtime updates are limited to a few cloud services as of today.
Despite covering most of the Azure services, there are still some services with a partial coverage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Wiz, we can get visibility on our all our cloud from a single platform. Wiz correlates many information (identity, network, cloud configuration, vulnerabilities, secrets, etc.) from its scans to detect security risks.
It gives us visibility and security insights on complex environments such as Kubernetes and its containers.
We use Wiz to monitor our external attack surface, which is not an easy thing in the cloud.

Great Product

  • September 01, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great onboarding process with the customer support team. Easy to use and add new memebers into the system that are none technical. Have tried a rival previously and Wiz provided a much more comprehensive cooperative work approach. Connects into multiple ticketing systems to automatically update tickets. Can compare to multiple frameworks jn one click
What do you dislike about the product?
Projects taking an overnight update to populate with data. SSO set up is slightly complicated and the guide to set it up is not the best at times. Unable to bulk invite users via CSV
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking at our cloud security posture. Is giving us access to view areas of the business that were locked down due to access issues, this gap has now been solved.

Excellent oversight, easy to install and maintain

  • September 01, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wiz shows you everything you need to know about your cloud environment. Since you connect your cloud resources on a subscription level new resources automatically gets added to Wiz, no need to worry about someone forgetting to install an agent on a set of resources. With Wiz it is easy to identify and fix security issues since you know exactly which resources you need to focus on. When a new threat emerges you can get an overview of your risk in seconds. Extensive documentation and an active interest in listening to customer requests has also been a big positive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wiz can be overwhelming, at least at first. When you connect Wiz to your cloud subscriptions for the first time you get presented with a lot of resources, and as a result a lot of potential issues and vulnerabilities. Despite this the categorisation of Wiz and their extensive documentation made this manageable but it does come with a learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wiz solves the oversight issue. With Wiz we can have an instant and accurate overview of our cloud environment and all the issues and vulnerabilities that affects us.

Great tool for vulnerability assessment.

  • August 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wiz is incredibly intuitive and provides very detailed context. It is 100% agentless and works like a charm. With little cloud skill you can deploy the product in minutes and have 100% visibility of your (multi) cloud environment in less than 24hr.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no such dislike, however there is scope of omprovement. It's prone to some false possitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wiz helping us quickly detect vulnerabilities without configuring external scans or deploying agents across clouds and workloads, also we got the sugesstions on how we can remove these vulnerbilities. It's been benifiting us to reduce the turn around time for critical and hight vulnerbilities.

Wiz is best in class for teams of all size

  • August 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wiz provides teams of all size visibility and helps identify gaps in their cloud infrastructure. They excel at many things and are always working with their customers to find countless other areas to bring value in. Wiz really is as flexible of a tool as there is and only limited by the knowledge and ability of your team to leverage the functionality.

Besides it's obvious functionality as a CSPM, Wiz enables teams customizability that fit in with their Security mission - whatever that may be. It's a very low maintenaince tool that gives teams the time back to focus on the priorities that matter. It's an easy sell to any organization - it meets all the requirements you could have any with almost no compute overhead and reliability - the tool scales with your org at an instant.

Wiz also provides some of the best customer service in the industry and is extremely competitive in terms of pricing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wiz often times will release new features that are intended on being "tested" - this can mean that if you don't understand what the value or use case is, they can feel not "production" ready. Some orgs can be turned off by this, but for an org with proper technical resources you'll be able to provide feedback to Wiz to help shape the feature(s) to what you really need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wiz solves a multiple of problems - primarily as our Cloud vulnerability scanning solution, but also provides visibility into our overall posture and tracks our compliance adherance making audits that make faster.

Wiz has given me the tools to stay one step ahead of cyber threats.

  • August 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Key benefits and features of Wiz that make it a valuable tool for cloud security posture management:
1. Agentless architecture: Wiz does not require any agents or additional software to be installed on cloud instances, which makes it lightweight and easy to deploy. This reduces the attack surface and minimizes the risk of unwanted alterations to the environment.
2. Continuous monitoring: Wiz continuously monitors cloud environments for security vulnerabilities, providing real-time alerts and recommendations for improvement. This helps organizations stay ahead of potential threats and maintain a robust security posture.
3. Compliance checking: Wiz supports various compliance frameworks, such as PCI DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, and GDPR, and provides detailed reports on compliance status. This helps organizations ensure they are meeting regulatory requirements and avoiding costly penalties.
4. Integration with other tools: Wiz integrates with popular cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as with other security tools and systems, such as SIEMs and incident response platforms. This allows organizations to leverage existing investments in security infrastructure and enhance their overall security posture.
5. Ease of use: Wiz offers an intuitive interface that makes it easy for users to understand and address security vulnerabilities. This reduces the need for extensive training or technical expertise, making it accessible to a wider range of users.
6. Cost-effective: Wiz provides a cost-effective solution compared to traditional security tools that require agents or additional software installations. This can help organizations save time and resources while improving their overall security posture.
7. Scalability: Wiz is designed to handle large-scale cloud environments, making it an ideal choice for organizations with complex and dynamic cloud infrastructures.
8. Advanced analytics: Wiz provides advanced analytics capabilities that enable organizations to identify emerging threats and improve their security posture over time. This includes anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and customizable reports.
9. Enhanced visibility: Wiz provides detailed visibility into cloud environments, allowing organizations to identify potential security risks and take proactive measures to address them. This includes monitoring of cloud resources, network traffic, and user behavior.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Wiz is a powerful tool for automating security and compliance processes in the cloud, there are some potential downsides or areas where it may not be as helpful as expected. Here are some of the least helpful aspects of Wiz:
1. Dependence on cloud providers: Wiz is built around the major cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP. While this makes it easy to integrate with these platforms, organizations using other cloud providers or on-premises environments may find Wiz less useful.
2. Limited integration with other tools: While Wiz integrates with some other security and compliance tools, its integration capabilities are limited compared to other automation tools. This can make it difficult for organizations to integrate Wiz with their existing toolset.
3. Steep learning curve: While Wiz provides a user-friendly interface, the sheer amount of features and capabilities can make it challenging for new users to learn and master the tool. This can be especially true for organizations without dedicated security or compliance teams.
4. Cost: Its paid tiers can be expensive, especially for larger organizations. This can be a barrier for some organizations looking to implement Wiz's features.
5. Limited visibility into cloud resources: Wiz relies on the cloud provider's APIs to gather data about cloud resources. However, these APIs may not provide complete visibility into all cloud resources, particularly those that are not natively supported by the cloud provider. This can limit Wiz's ability to detect and monitor certain types of resources.
6. Dependence on accurate data: Wiz relies on accurate and up-to-date data to make informed recommendations and provide effective security and compliance management. However, if the data is incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate, Wiz's recommendations may not be reliable.
7. Limited support for non-cloud environments: While Wiz is primarily designed for cloud environments, its capabilities may be limited when applied to on-premises environments or other types of infrastructure.
8. Potential for false positives: Like any security tool, Wiz may generate false positives, which can lead to unnecessary work and fatigue for security teams. This can also undermine the credibility of the tool in the eyes of security decision-makers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Protecting sensitive information: With Wiz, you can easily identify and classify sensitive information within your organization, such as intellectual property, customer data, or financial information. This helps ensure that only authorized personnel have access to this information, reducing the risk of data breaches or leaks.
2. Managing access to confidential data: Wiz allows you to control access to sensitive information based on user roles, permissions, and other factors. This ensures that only authorized personnel can access the information they need to do their jobs, while restricting access to unauthorized users.
3. Ensuring compliance with regulations: Many organizations are subject to various cyber security and data privacy regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS. Wiz helps ensure that you are meeting these requirements by providing visibility into your organization's information management practices and helping you identify areas for improvement.
4. Reducing the risk of insider threats: With Wiz, you can monitor and analyze user behavior to detect potential insider threats, such as employees or contractors accessing sensitive information without authorization. This helps reduce the risk of data breaches caused by unauthorized access or malicious activity within your organization.
5. Improving incident response times: In the event of a data breach or other security incident, Wiz can help you quickly identify and contain the issue, reducing the impact on your business operations. This is especially important in regulated industries where swift action is required to minimize legal and reputational risks.
6. Enhancing board-level oversight: By providing real-time visibility into information management practices across the organization, Wiz can help board members and other senior executives better understand and oversee cyber security and data privacy risks. This enables more effective risk management and strategic decision-making.
7. Supporting business continuity planning: In the event of a disaster or major security incident, Wiz can help you quickly identify and isolate affected systems, services, or data, minimizing the impact on your business operations. This supports more effective business continuity planning and crisis management.
8. Facilitating third-party risk management: With Wiz, you can better evaluate and manage risks associated with third-party vendors, service providers, or other external partners. This helps ensure that these partners are meeting your cyber security and data privacy standards, reducing the risk of breaches or other security incidents.
9. Optimizing information management processes: Wiz can help you identify areas for improvement in your information management processes, such as data quality, accuracy, or access controls. By optimizing these processes, you can reduce the risk of security incidents and improve overall business efficiency.
10. Supporting digital transformation initiatives: As organizations undergo digital transformation, Wiz can help ensure that sensitive information is properly protected and managed throughout the entire lifecycle, from creation to deletion or archiving. This supports more effective risk management and helps you achieve your strategic objectives.

Excellently presented

What do you like best about the product?
Versatility is the word for me. I compare them with Crowdstrike in matters of ingenuity and from what I've seen they go beyond imagination at this point in time.
I say with confidence that this is only the beginning and as future is in the cloud they will be the visionaries and founding fathers of their specific attributes.

And the people, their best assets, very well prepared and there was no question unanswered or deviated.

Thank you for erasing one layer of ignorance from my being.
What do you dislike about the product?
Couldn't find anything bad, wrong or misplaced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems solved are exactly the purposes of their products and tools.
