Very user-friendly platform, the best tool on the translation market for me right now
What do you like best about the product?
Smartling is an excellent tool, so user-friendly and very fast loading times. I am extremely happy with it. Compared to other translation tools, it is very smooth to use, everything is in the cloud and the TMs and glossary can be looked up with one click. I am also very satisfied with the easy invoicing process, that makes my work as translator a lot easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, there are some small errors, such as the tool logging in again when I am busy working on a translation. But usually I log in again and then everything is saved. I nearly never lose any translations. Sometimes, also the invoicing overview does not work, but usually this is also solved within a few days.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a great tool for website translations and I love the feature that I can see the websites in context while I am translating.
That gives me so much context and I can see directly how my translation will look like on the website, that helps me make good choices in terms of syntax or punctuation.
Also, the process of doing AI review is something that solves the problem, that most clients do not want translations from scratch, but use all available technology. I get to choose between AI, TM and MT which is perfect to take what I need and then take the best from it all to create my translations.
That gives me so much context and I can see directly how my translation will look like on the website, that helps me make good choices in terms of syntax or punctuation.
Also, the process of doing AI review is something that solves the problem, that most clients do not want translations from scratch, but use all available technology. I get to choose between AI, TM and MT which is perfect to take what I need and then take the best from it all to create my translations.

It is very clear and user-friendly. Each area is well labeled.

Nothing in particular, on the contrary. The fact that you can find everthing related to your work is a plus.

I just need to focus on my job and not worry about anything else.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling’s cloud-based TMS makes it easy to keep track of translation work and earnings in real time. I also like that I can focus on the translation itself without having to search for clients on my own, since projects are already organized and ready to go. The interface is intuitive and helps me stay productive.
What do you dislike about the product?
If a client responds to an issue after the original deadline, I lose access to the file unless it is reassigned. It would be helpful if the platform allowed translators to continue editing in such cases.

Smartling provides a centralized place to manage translation projects, which saves me from juggling multiple tools or client platforms. Compared with other CAT tools I’ve used, it streamlines my workflow and reduces time spent on admin tasks.

The tool is very user-friendly, and I love the fact that I can custom settings to use the keyboard shortcuts from my favorite CAT tool.

I did experience an issue at one point with strings being chopped, which caused some inconvenience in the translation process. However, the good news is that the Smartling team acted very quickly to resolve the issue, demonstrating their commitment to improving user experience and addressing concerns efficiently.

The platform’s glossary and translation memory (TM) functionalities are particularly well-designed. The ability to reference the glossary in real-time and leverage the TM seamlessly enhances translation consistency and quality. Additionally, the real-time source view is an indispensable feature that allows translators to work with full context, significantly reducing errors and ambiguities.

Filter Source/Target not always handy on jobs with several pages.

Expedit my linguist work with IA output of quality. Consolidates several accounts in a single platform.
User friendly experience for linguists
What do you like best about the product?
This platform is very user friendly and straightforward. As a translator, it's easy to manage the workflow and enable/disable availaibility for new jobs. I also appreciate the fact that I can simply login to my account and start working on my tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notification management feature is a bit too complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The workflow is smooth and straightforward. I also appreciate being able to enable/disable my availability by pressing a button.
Comfortable, a dark mode would be welcome.
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of the platform, ease of use. Good technical support.
What do you dislike about the product?
A dark mode is missing, which would be very useful for translators who spend many hours in front of their screen. The predictive input mode is currently limited to the glossary, the tool could be extended to the entire TM.

Management of large volumes of text, translation memory, suggestions based on glossary entries...

What I like the most is that it is accessible at any time and place.

Sometimes it is complicated to find certain symbols to insert them

I don't quite understand what you mean by this.

Easy to use, some tools inserted such as AI.

PM are to a minimum and when you send a query to client very few asnwered since they do not know how to send a segment back or do not care.
