MAXIMO - so many opportunities
What do you like best about the product?
MAXIMO is so configurable. You can make it do anything! If you can't figure it out on your own - there's a whole community of users willing to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The data entry is cumbersome, having to type the same number over and over again to put it on multiple records. There should be a way to update fields in multiple records at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking work on assets. What has been done, who did it, how much did it cost.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MAXIMO is a workhorse. Proper setup begins with good processes and knowing what you want out of it. If you don't define the proper fields up front, you won't be able to get the data you want 3 years down the road. Use an experienced 3rd party consultant to set up your system.
Excellent Everything
What do you like best about the product?
User experience is top notch. The UI is very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Discovering that a standard option exists that I did not know about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our inventory under control had been an issue. With many moving parts between systems and reporting tools the process to cycle count and generally manage inventory was a pain to say the least. Using mobility and diving deeper in our understanding of Maximo's material management capabilities has helped us to gain better control of all aspects of our inventory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you don't consider Maximo then you need to increase your budget because you won't be happy with the product you end up with. Have seen too many customers switch to Maximo after failed implementations/use of other products.

Maximizing assets with Maximo
What do you like best about the product?
As a developer and a technical architect I like all the functionality that's available to the users out of the box. I really like that the product is highly customizable using Maximo tools
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind. Most of what our users need to solve and do with Maximo is available to them
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The integration of Maximo with different external systems and the automation of daily activities
Highly Informative
What do you like best about the product?
I like the sessions and the speakers, it has been very informative with a wide range of information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the sessions don't have topics that are applicable to me, with Maximo customization or security.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I customize Maximo to make it more user firendly for our internal customers.
Flexible and powerful tool
What do you like best about the product?
Maximo offers a complete palate of tools which can be used to solve an almost any business requirement
What do you dislike about the product?
The flexibility of the tool is a blessing and a curse. We've allowed our consumers to customize the application so much that it has made much of the functionality inoperable. Now that we have more experience we are working at changing our processes to meet IBM's best practices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asset management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend as much time refining your busines requirements.
Fantastic Maximo Software
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Maximo is pretty much if you can think of it it can be done!
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing that I dislike about Maximo is nothing to do with Maximo, but instead is our deployment of Maximo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are seriously under utilizing Maximo's potential. We use it for PM work management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend the money up front on an implementation partner.
