Increase traffic and get your content in front of your audience

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
OneSignal offers an easy-to-use interface that allows powerful increases in driving traffic and engagement.
What do you dislike about the product?
For our purposes, as we don't have an app, we're only able to target push notifications to desktop users.

I suppose one other issue that is (very mildly) inconvenient is the integration of tracking. I add in UTMs every time I send a push notification. I know Campaign Monitor, for example, just integrated automatic tracking, so UTMs are automatically applied. This is a tiny issue though, I'm really digging here!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
(1) We're able to drive traffic to content for a variety of reasons through the segmentation options (geotarget appropriate immigration guides, encourage new subscribers to register for accounts). We have trouble getting our content in front of the right audience—this helps address that problem.

(2) We publish immigration news and important updates: OneSignal allows us to get the news out to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. This is incredibly important when dealing with time-sensitive information (for example, border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic).

Easy & efficient tool for desktop notifications

  • August 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Timely notifications to readers. We used OneSignal to alert subscribers every time we had a new blog post. We also used it frequently during the beginning stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was extremely useful to share important information regarding event cancellations, event updates, COVID-19 updates. Once most live events had been canceled, we started using OneSignal as a way to broadcast our content about online/virtual events. This was incredibly important as well given the events industry was hit hard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I did not run into any issues with OneSignal while using it for desktop notifications. We did not use OneSignal for mobile notifications, so I cannot speak to that either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pushing traffic to landing pages with high conversion rates.
Pushing traffic to landing pages with lower conversion rates after implementing optimizations.

Perfect for our games on Game Maker Stdio 2!

  • July 11, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
The beautiful push notifications that you can send to your users and how the loved them without thinking that is spam!
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike? nothing :) OneSignal was perfect solution to our games!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved the lack of communication with our players that aren't following us on social media and we increase the engagement with the game by sending notifications when the player was offline for some days. We increase the interaction with our players by sending push notifications by encouraging to play again or just to leave a rate on our store. Also we solve the problem with the users that don't update the game because they didn't know that was a new update already to use. We want to use the notifications to send prices to the users and OneSignal has the tools to make it!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They don't have an official Extension to use on Game Maker Studio 2, but it is really easy to implement. You can use third parties extensions or just try by yourself using the really clear documentation and just a little bit of knowledge on Java Android or iOS development with native code. If you need help they will answer you as soon as they can and super kindly. You will love the results with OneSignal and how customizable, easy-to-use, and professional it looks.

What do you dislike about the product?
When I find such thing, I'll make sure to update this review :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It simplifies the push and in-app notifications for us.

OneSignal is good, but it has some minor security issues, which I wish to be fixed

  • May 19, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple UI and integration, Also ability to send email next to push notifications
What do you dislike about the product?
My users can send push notifications without my permission, using my account. It's a security issue and I've shared it with OneSignal support but they think it's not an issue. AppId and UserId is publicly available in browser console and everyone can get it. In api there is no secretToken check when sending notification using appId and userId.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use OneSignal as a notification micro service for my game. Main benefit is that we saved developer hours by not re-implementing same functionality

Been using OneSignal for 2 year at penny cost.

  • April 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We started to use OneSignal as a low cost alternative for sending push notifications, at the beggining it was really simple tool with no fancy features. With the pass ot time we have seen how each new feature improves the whole experience. To say some of them push notifications are highly customizable, new in message app has a bigger impact and deep segmentation options.
What do you dislike about the product?
so far at this momento I dislike the limited testing options for send test messages and that I haven't seen an easy plugin to integrate with platforms as unbounce or instapage (we currently have implemented in Android & Iphone)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's our main push notification tool for our app. That is a Commute Bus app in Mexico City, we already have 136.000 registered users, 33,000 active users and 8,000 engaged users. One Signal has been helping us a lot to keep engaged this users and to reduce our chunr rate a 20%. Users are grateful as they feel we are care of them by having constant communiction.

Hassle free experience!

  • April 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Super easy to plug into any platform. I've been using OneSignal for almost 4 years now, it has never failed in delivering notifications. Also, it's unreal how the platform is free and yet provides almost all the functionalities that you need. We have about 1Mil subscriptions in OneSignal, haven't had any hiccup in notifications. Their support team is very prompt, helpful, and responsive and get things rolling in no time. Highly recommended!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing specific. The only thing I dislike is navigating around the platform itself. I sometimes find it difficult to find the list of subscribed users. If only there was a handy shortcut to search for users using their iOS/Android players, it would have been great!
Else, the platform works like a charm for our notification needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We deliver event notifications to our customers using OneSignal. As our majority of customers use iOS & Android devices, OneSignal helps in notifying them of any important event or updates right on their mobile devices. We also use OneSignal to notify our users on their Chrome browsers - works amazing!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No second thoughts. If you know a bit about coding, you'll easily be able to implement the service in your solution. A day or two of integration is all you need, we haven't changed the implementation code in a long time apart from updating the SDKs.
