A product that does what it claims & just works
What do you like best about the product?
The benefits of using Mimecast are ease of setup, ease of admin & its one product that truly does what it claims and just works. Once it's setup it's really set and forget and you don't have to be continually checking in on it
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not had any dislikes with the Mimecast product. The only feedback I could give is that if you use their other products like Cyber Awareness training there is a different console to administer from.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mimecast solves our spam issues as we have less than 0.01% of spam email delivered to our users.

Mimecast works very well
What do you like best about the product?
It blocks most emails that we want it to and we can setup rule for anything that it does not automatically take care of for us. If we have any issues we can easily get support.
What do you dislike about the product?
When the DMARK problem emails sneak up on us

filtering or unwanted emails and attachments
Moved to Mimecast and couldn't be happier!
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast works well, and their AI system of learning normal communications is a huge help in detecting unusual activity. We were with a different product before and it was always giving us greif. As soon as we went toMimecast all our problems went away immediately. Good admin consoles for fast in and out changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Finding some items in the Admin Console is a little disjointed. I am jumping around to different areas for basic admin tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a much more reliable spam detection engine that was ot constantly disrupting our employees. We needed both a Gateway and an API backend solution for a full features security approach.
Excellent product
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the eDiscovery features. Compared to M365 it is much faster and easier to use. There is no comparison between the two really.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could be improved. It feels dated

Efficient malware and spam protection and archiving.

Easy to use, support is great. I have been using them for years and this is why.
What do you dislike about the product?
We still get phishing emails coming in. This is such a hard product to have because the bad actors are trying to break things as fast as you are trying to keep things going.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Slowing down the spam emails from getting in and wasting my users time. Protecting all of my computers from malicious code coming in via documents, or bad links.
Mimecast essentially kicked us out of the MSP program even though we had hundreds of seats

Works well and and good impersonation proetction features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mimecast booted MSPs that work with small companies. Hard learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Impersonation Protection and spam filtering that works well.
Good alternative but duplicates many M365 features

The awareness training is the best part. The content and actors are great which keeps our employees engaged.

The features are duplicates of M365 features and they don't always work well together.

Spam and phising protection for our employees.
Mimecast - Excellent Product
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast has all of the email security options that we need, including spam, malware and impersonation protection. they also have an excellent email archive product
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features, like targetted threat protection are add-ons and incure additional fees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mimecast solves our spam, malware and phishing problems which increases our security posture. While occasional bad emails get through, 99% of them are stopped by Mimecast.

Additionally, some users might find the pricing to be on the higher side compared to other email security solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mimecast provides solutions for email security and management, including protection against threats like phishing and malware, filtering out spam and junk mail, ensuring email continuity during server outages, offering data loss prevention through archiving and backup solutions, and simplifying compliance and legal discovery with advanced search capabilities. These features enhance email security, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and data protection.
Industry leader for Secure Email Gateway (SEG) providers
What do you like best about the product?
Extremely robust and granular controls over every policy and potential vector that attackers will try and use to compromise your end users via email. They also have integration into other platforms via their API for security events if you operate a SIEM or have a SOC service. Finally a retention policy which means you never have to worry about email backups again...we have 99 years!
What do you dislike about the product?
There product roadmap appears to have slowed down somewhat as of late. Features and enhancements were very regular cadence..but as of 2024, not so much. Example: Their Outlook plugin hasnt had an update since 2022. They are clearly pivoting to sectors such as Human Risk & Behaviour based products, which may have resulted in slowing down development of their core SEG product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protecting all my end users from malicious emails and attachments automatically but also empowering end users to self-service for email retention and search or releasing emails that have been caught in digest, so that IT don't have too.
