Comprehensive email security gateway
What do you like best about the product?
Very configurable, helpful support staff, supports both inbound and outbound scanning. Clear help documents on how to set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be a steep learning curve. Sometimes difficult to find the correct configuration screen due to amount of menu choices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inbound and outbound spam / phishing / virus and attachment scanning.

Covers all the basess for email security and at a high level
What do you like best about the product?
Always on with multiplle datacenters. All the tools our end users need to be secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
With high end tools comes complexity. Becausse off the complexity it can be challanging to configure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main security needs after the standard email security are HIPPA and PCI which Mimecast does very well for us. Its topped off with secure large file send and encrypted messages.

I like that Mimecast can be custimized to fit many different use cases and scenarios

Configuration can be confusing at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mimecast helps greatly with impersonization attempts and other forms of phishing that native o365 tools do not catch well.
Fully featured email protection
What do you like best about the product?
The ability for users to manage their own whitelist easly and the Mimecast for Outlook plugin.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating and managing policies is sometimes confusing and would like to see it simplified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The amount of SPAM and Phishing emails has been reduced by 98%. Impersonation attacks are nearly entirely blocked. We have had no infected attachements allowed through email. URL rewriting is working well to protect from malicious sites. We have been able to tune our policies to nearly eliminate false positives. Send secured/encrypted emails is simple for the users. Send large file attachements using the Mimecast process is working very well. The user digest and Outlook plugin allow the users to easliy manage their own White and Black lists and to release held emails.

What do you like best about the product?
This is the most complete solution backed by the number one email security organization. This solution worked with both cloud and on-prem solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing we missed is that the secure email plug in on prem requires an exchange server or it wont work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Financial Institutions are a top target for phishing and ransomeware so anything you can do to help with this is a plus

What do you like best about the product?
Overall, I value the security, flexibility, and user-friendly nature of Mimecast Advanced Email Security. It is a powerful tool for protecting email communications. It allows me to set customised policies that align with my firm's specific needs. Whether it's scanning attachments, monitoring URLs, or filtering emails based on specific content, the flexibility is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mimecast sometimes flags legitimate emails as suspicious, leading to delays in communication. While it’s good at catching threats, managing false positives can become tedious.
While the interface is generally intuitive, new users can face a learning curve, particularly in understanding the more nuanced security policies and tools within the platform. Training or familiarisation may be required to fully leverage its potential.
There are some advanced configurations that can feel quite complex. Setting up intricate rules can be more time consuming and require more expertise that expected.

Amazing product, friendly interface, zero account management
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Mimecast is how easy it is to manage and implement. From all the basics of emails protection like allow/deny lists, to more advanced features like greylist checks and DMARC rules, it does all from a very friendly interface and once you get used to its logic, the daily usage of IT admins, to the sporadic use by end users just makes this product probably the best in class on its market.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only caveat to something so ease to integrate and manage is the customer support and account management that is often lacking. Customer support is not always helpful, or will only provide a link to their knowledgebase rather than helping with troubleshooting, and it's very hard to find anyone on the account management side of the house that can be a point of contact for escalations, renewals, and so on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing permit/block lists based on return-path or sending domain, blocking spam, creating rules, all on an easy-to-manage interface, with granular permissions that allows service desk roles to do the basic and level 3 admins to manage complex rules.
Great Product, but account management could be better
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, setup and configure. Policies are super easy to start with and allows alot of customisation to fit any organisation. Implementation Team very helpful and worth every penny.
What do you dislike about the product?
Account Management. This is the only downside I can find, we spent our first year not even meeting our AM, finding tickets are often going without frequent updates which is quite frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mimecast was brought in to replace an old underperforming spam filtering system that was allow too many false negatives. Mimecast has successfully help us in reducing the spam exposure to the users.

To be completely honest, after nearly two years of using Mimecast, we haven’t found anything that stands out as a negative. The platform has consistently delivered on its promises, and we’ve had a smooth experience from day one. If anything, the only challenge might be that some of the more advanced features take a little time to fully explore and utilize, but the support team is always readily available to assist with this.
Overall, there hasn’t been anything we’ve found unhelpful—Mimecast has been a reliable and essential tool for our organization.

Mimecast Advanced Email Security is solving several key challenges for us. Before implementing Mimecast, we dealt with frequent spam and phishing attempts that posed significant security risks. Easy to Manage Advanced Email security
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast Advanced Email Security is a great tool to add a layer of protection to corporate email solution, it has lots features which cover many elements of an emails journey and contents giving our end users confidence when working with email. It is easy to implement and once set up requires little intervention from IT staff in the day to day management of email send and recieve functionality. Users are able to self assess held of flagged emails and decide whether they think they are safe or malicious based on Mimecasts recommendations.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security integrated straight into our Microsoft365 tenancy with very little effort and the Outlook add in allows a further level of integration and convenience to the end user.
Mimecast Support has improved vastly over the years we have been a customer, it is now a very quick and easy way of sorting out any issues that do arise.

What do you dislike about the product?
Mimecast Advanced Email Security can take some time to tailor the impact on end users to begin with. Time and effort is needed to construct the correct whitelists and exceptions, as well as adjusting the spam filters to avoid an excessive amount of email being incorrectly held. The only other drawback is the usability of the administration portal, features and their policies can be hard to find as there are quite a few different levels to each function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since the introduction of Mimecast Advanced Email Security in our business we have seen a massive reduction in phishing and other malicious emails being delivered to users inboxes. On top of the reduction of risk associated with this, we have also seen our users become much more aware of suspicious emails thanks to the messaging they see from the Mimecast product. The IT team now spends a lot less time in the administation and 'checking' of emails coming into the business, it has enabled our users to be more self sufficient and confident in what they are responding to.
