Highly customizable and comprehensive email security tool
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast's offering has a solution for just about any need. There is a vast number of configuration options available to make this fit your organization. What really sets them apart is their top notch support. When you have a question or need configuration support you can usually find the answer you're looking for in their robust documentation. Even better though is their support staff. You can call and get the answer you need first try from the first agent you speak to. They are always knowledgable and eager to help you with whatever you're working on fixing, investigating, or configuring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their user interface in the admin portal sometimes feels dated and not intuitive. Once you get the hang of "Mimecast's way" of doing things it's no problem but there is a learning curve to their tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mimecast helps to protect our users from spam, malicious attachments, malicious URLs, and a number of email related attacks.
Solid, powerful email management
What do you like best about the product?
It provides options not found or not easily accessable in Exchange online. It's a solid backup strategy when using Echange. There are lots of options and they are continuing to add more features. Support is smart and quick. Customer service goes out of their way to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be daunting at first. It does take some time to get to know where things are. Pricing can be higher than other options which can be a challange to get approval.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phishing prevention options are nearly endless. I've seen drastic reductions and it's very configuable.
Mimecast Email Security
What do you like best about the product?
An extensive array of options available to customise to your own business requirements. Easy to use and monitor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like the option for basic phishing tests to be included within base functionality. More advanced tests could be an optional extra.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing great functionality to ensure email is secure and DLP rules configured preventing data loss scenarios and potential.
Exceptional
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast has been protecting us from spam and other email related threats on emails, we get manuals on sensitizing users on cyber security. We get prompt support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently nothing. It works seemlessly no issues noted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protects the company from spam and other email related threats.
Seemingly effective, but overly disruptive
What do you like best about the product?
It seems (mostly) effective in keeping threats out of my inbox. (Though I did receive a 'Hey this is your CEO; I need you to purchase some gift cards for outstanding employees' spam in the past week.(
What do you dislike about the product?
It disrupts my work. I just waited 30 minutes to get the security code from my marketing automation tool. And I'm often asked 'do you think this link is safe?' when following links to domains that I know to be safe and have been asked about (by Mimecast, on the same machine) in the past. (Full disclosure: I've worked for a competitor in the past. I'd argue that provides me with a solid basis for comparison as well as higher expectations.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep malware out of my email inbox.
Great email protection!
What do you like best about the product?
The filter is better than what we used in the past. The notification emails we receive are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface takes some learning. It can be difficult to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Threat emails are less of a worry now with Mimecast in place.
Really love Mimecast Email Security; excellent protection that is reliable and easy.
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast Email Security provides very consistent protection against email-based threats for our users that is simple to use and reliable. My favorite feature is that it replaces all of the links in inbound messages and protects my users when they click on them if they're dangerous.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not thrilled with the user management features; they are not intuitive or user-friendly. In particular, building and managing folders for user awareness training users is not easy. Additionally, if you have selected a folder with subfolders, the app shows a count of the number of recipients in the parent folder, but then makes all of the users from the folder and all of the subfolders recipients, too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem this product solves is that of users clicking links in email; even when my users click the link they are protected. We have had no instances of users becoming infected with malware since beginning to use Mimecast.
Best email Security Gateway
What do you like best about the product?
It has lots of great security features like impersonation protection, inbound and outbound DNS checks, threat protection and remediation, journaling, API integration etc. also we can create an HTML signature and it will automatically inject into all the outgoing email.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a costly solution, but it is worth having in the organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it deeply inspects all incoming emails, and if it finds malicious links or attachments it blocks that part and releases emails, auto threat remediation works really well.
I wouldn't run an IT department without it
What do you like best about the product?
A tried and tested bundle of protection for email across all common threat types. It integrates a lot of different highly configurable policies into one pane of glass to assist with managing email flow, holds, etc. while making it granular when you need it too.
What do you dislike about the product?
There has been a big focus on new features and capabilities in recent years (which IS great) but they've tended to be minimum viable rather than 100% integrated to the same standard as other functions. This means there is some disparity in features e.g. notification customisation, or admin interfaces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email is the most frequently exploited threat vector and having Mimecast looking out for my organisation means I can sleep at night. The efficacy of the product is proved every day, and this allows the helpesk team to respond confidently to alerts and users feel far more empowered to interact with the messages they do receive.
Nice and Apt
What do you like best about the product?
Among many, the most helpful features are impersonation, URL protection, Anti-Spoofing and Attachment control. The upside is the control and visibility of malicious/suspicious emails like spam, attachments and suspicious links.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful is the limited log and mail retention period, which is 30 days by default. The downside which faces is that granular filtration doesn't function as expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It controls the chance of spam and malicious activity through emails and protects users' visits to suspicious or harmful links, knowingly or unknowingly. It also provides controls on authorized outbound senders.
