Application and Infrastructure O&M fully automated
What do you like best about the product?
APM Transaction traces as well as PageActions customizations through the API.
What do you dislike about the product?
Full user subscription can be a little pricey, and it's the only way for your team to check on transaction traces. Support through the community hub is sometimes not enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're a lean organization. We rely on NewRelic for Observability and Monitoring. We don't have to hire dedicated personnel, which saves costs.

BEST Full observability tool in the market
What do you like best about the product?
New Relic brings all aspects of observability into one software, allowing you to monitor in a granular way all aspects of your infrastructure, application layer, customer side lawyer and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a complete observability platform, which means convincing all layers of engineers, backend, frontend, DevOps and QA, it also has a normal learning curve for the size and features available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unify and centralize, log, metrics, alarms and rules to monitor the entire cloud and on-site software, hardware and data storage ecosystem. by having all metrics in one solution minimizes costs, IAM maintenance and mean time to recover.
We prefer New Relic over Data Dog!
What do you like best about the product?
New Relic makes it super easy to instrument our digital experiences, services, and their underlying infrastructure. It's super flexible and allows you to send the data in via their agents, open-source solutions (like Prometheus, StatsD, etc.), and they have a bunch of Ingestion APIs which can be used programmatically to format whatever type of data you want. You can also configure alerts or add visual elements to dashboards across every page of the platform, making it really easy to build advanced visualizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish New Relic had made it easier to export topology data into CMDB solutions like ServiceNow. Doing so would enable us to use all of the real-time collected asset inventory & config data to keep our CMDB updated as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps us, and our clients, detect performance bottlenecks that hurt their businesses or degrade customer experience for end-users of their products or services.
Amazing Observability Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to Implement monitoring, wide range of platforms covered with different modules of NewRelic. Easy to troubleshoot problems using docs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain limits need to be expanded(eg: 2000 rows limit for dashboard import), Certain new features to be looked into
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Availability monitoring & slownses across SAAS based apps, slowness in web based in house apps and error rates, custom dashboards to present a numeric value for each performance metric of application to non IT people.
Best tool to record, view and query your metrics
What do you like best about the product?
I love how new relic has made it a million times easier for me and my team to report events data and to be able to retrieve it throught effective querying. This too is just the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I'd say i dislike about new relic. While the GUI is really great, the NRQL API could've been a bit more friendly when having to query through a script.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New relic has been playing a major role in recording all metrics for our apps herein our team. All of these metrics have been very useful to us, as they're further used to build our own recommendation engine.
Awesome Monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
New relic offers Application performance monitoring which is best for distributed tracing and gets complete visibility of backend transactions so that we can find issues quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is the only reason I don't like using a new relic because it keeps on changing its user interface(UI) it makes users challenging to using new relic services and the new relic agents were not designed in a great way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For EKS(Elastic Kubernetes Service) cluster monitoring, we use the new relic pixie which gives detailed insights and also helps in cluster autoscaling but the pixie pod itself takes a lot of memory which is around 2GB per node so in recent pixie updates new relic tried to resolve this problem.
Excellent monitoring Tool for you Application
What do you like best about the product?
I like the representation of the information of the Application based on throughput, response time, external service, Error identification.
Also, the Error is so accurate with the printstacktrace that we can quickly figure out the issue without going through the application logs.
Also, the Custom Attributes help identify the customer transactions based on such attributes and based on that; we can create the dashboard to get all information on our customer transactions.

What do you dislike about the product?
As of now there is nothing which i dislike about New relic and that is genuine.
Base is you need to know about NRQL.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps in solving critical customer issues and finding resolutions to the same w.r.t custom attributes transactions, and also the alert capability helps in getting the alerts through mail, having all the detail information i.e what application is affected, what is the issue, what are the parameters passed by the customer. to our team, which helps in actively solving the issue.
We also get the kubernetes information like pod details, image number, how many time it is restarted etc.

Measure, don't guess
What do you like best about the product?
New Relic One requires no special configurations to begin instrumentation. We can observe your applications down to their transactions and trace those transactions across your technology stack. We can instrument custom-built solutions and COTS software alike. New Relic One has uncovered issues with solutions that the vendor didn't know about. It once paid for itself through monitoring of SLA guaranteed solutions by providing availability reporting. We can compare our top transaction performance before and after changes through deployment markers and know if a change has had a negative impact. New Relic One Logs allow us to create custom alerts on obscure and detailed application output and correlate application logs to events.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only direct top-level integrations for Azure and Google Cloud. While objects in, for example IBM Cloud, can be monitored, they require technology-specific integrations. Agent deployments require manual installations unless you have a patching/remote deployment solution already. Advanced configurations are not required as mentioned but are possible. Those advanced configurations are typically a component of the agent deployment and require a custom configuration file to be included for capturing say, logs for an application. There is no GUI to remotely add features to a deployed agent. This is a security measure understandably but adds a slight effort to the part of the admin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic One solves our need for observability of technology solutions. We have the benefit of a central instrumentation platform that correlates events to reduce alert fatigue. We have the benefit of collaboration across technologies and domains of expertise. We have the benefit of speaking to the facts and not arguing about opinions or guessing. New Relic One is as much a communication platform for technology as it is an observability platform for instrumentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't wait, try it for free. They have an epic freemium tier!
Multi Platform and Solid APM, but still third party.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it supports multiple clouds seamlessly, and has a simple and straightforward installation process. The APM tools are bar none and a lot of effort was clearly put in to making information easy to find and visualizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's still an extra installation process, and the ins and outs of that process aren't made very clear in the quickstart or the docs themselves -- if I wanted to install this in a k8s cluster, what variables do I need to set? Do I REALLY have to mount a file'?
Also, the line between the various products (APM, synthetics, errors, etc) are not at immediately intuitive -- to me or to the devs on my team.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The error reporting has been really handy. NRQL is solid and has made it easy to throw together dashboards that we check at least weekly.
Lower-urgency issues that used to go unsolved for weeks are now visible, which is a big deal for a small team like ours.

NewRelic to the rescue
What do you like best about the product?
APM. Instant root cause find. Easy navigation and nice integration with Infra, Browser, Insights, nice suite.
What do you dislike about the product?
new UX released quickly, surprised my team. So many new features it is difficult to learn and keep up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
APM instant root cause, saves hours of manual troubleshooting incidents.
Dashboards, excellent visiblity in a nice graphical report style - easy to explain to leadership.
Infrastructure on AWS - simple, quick deployments of agents - instant gain of observable issue/areas to improve.
