IBM bigsql (DB2) for hadoop for complex queries
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to handle complex queries in a compatible way at scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation procedure and documentation. Also, website links for specific product versions would sometimes not work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data integration on prem and in the cloud

The ability to have journals and use of sql along with other tools to display data

I don't have any dislikes, really - maybe the spead of journal receiving

We're able to store data, retrieve data with little effort compared to other databases. The spead and reliability is the best

The robust of IBM DD2 is very important to our system

hard to find the engineer in Viet Nam. Not many SE can implement and admin the DB2. Sometimes we need to pay much to IBM service team.

IBM staff ensure that the product is up to date, issues resolved before they happen and that DB2 for z/OS is available for my application's need.

IBM Managed Services is not as pro-active as we need them to be. They are more reactive,

Ease of use. Amount of data that can be stored and accessed.

IBM DB2 tools for DBAs are not as user-friendly/intuitive as products from other vendors

End-user queriable data.

We would like to see different security measures for healthcare being taken into consideration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM allows us to scale our business needs within the cloud and keep overall costs low but being able to utilize a stable model.
Db2 allowing us to be efficent, yet flexible

Db2's structure allows our company the capability to securely access data, while being flexible with the method being used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Db2, at times, reverts back to inefficient methods when upgrades are applied. for the most part, this has been due to lack of testing by the vendor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Db2 is the main transctional database for the enterprise, and currently use other IBM products to realize even better Analytics processing for marketing and clams processing. To that end, Db2 has saved our company in excess of a million dollars worth of CPU Chargeback per year.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
DB2 can be queired via XML streams as well as SQL. Based on the development path of your programmers, Db2 can be a great asset.

The way DB2 has evolved over time and been able to meet and keep up with needs as well as coming up with new ways of dealing with data

when added to other products, it gets a little confusing - like ICPD
