OwnBackup a tool that really helps

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like this tool because it really helps you to recover from anything that maybe was deleted accidentally or even recover data that you may need
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all, I would say it is only a little bit tricky having to add each sandbox in your org.
Sometimes in the jobs area is not that easy to find what you are looking for but it just a matter of some clicks and you can always find what you are really willing to do.
I would say I don't dislike this tool as lot of the work you can do within it it is just really amazing, don't need to worry about your data at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving problems when someone having sysadmin in prod box that may be deleting some records in an a very big amount. And also any accidentally deletion for records, and helps you also keep history.
I am also resolving when in our organization are requesting new sandboxes but with some certain criteria for data, I always download from our Backups the objects and just put the data into a brand new sandbox and that way we are not using partial data sandboxes or at least is not that required as it was before having this amazing tool.
It is really helpful to have it and also we are keeping track of our account records for certain amount of deletion that way we are monitored.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say if you really care about your Organization you should be using OwnBackup

Replacement for another backup product

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Most everything that is needed is obvious and right on the main dashboard. It is also a cost saver, the fact we have the ability to anonymize are data alone pays for the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Seeding data still has some quirks that need to be worked through. It would be nice if you didn't have to recreate a seeding template every time you want to make a change but had the ability to update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Three main benefits. 1) It backs up both our data and meta data. 2) It handles or GDPR issues (it will forget contacts) and 3) It has the ability to anonymize whatever object/field you choose.

The daily backups; being able to go back in time and restore
What do you dislike about the product?
That this is not the way for all products that backup
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This solves restoring issues with production
Recommendations to others considering the product:
this is a must have system

Easy to Setup, complete Backup of all your Salesforce Orgs

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and set-up is what sets OwnBackup apart. I love that i can recover any data loss, down to a single record with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can see why that is hard but it would be pretty cool for a persistent backup of a Sandbox rather than have a new backup item when I refresh a Sandbox
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an always on solution to backup Salesforce regularly to ensure no loss of data in the event of accidental deletions or catastrophic data loss.

What do you like best about the product?
Auto Backup of Data and Metadata of Salesforce.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notifications on changes in the system could be much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto Data Backup.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool, easy to setup and use. Data is also easy to retrievable. It has a prebuilt connection with Salesforce, which helps a lot as Salesforce doesn’t provide auto backup functionalities.

Excellent tool to recover your Salesforce data if needed and even query it

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
OwnBackup is pretty simple to use. It can be setup to backup all or specific data as often as you would like. One of the neat features available is that you can SQL-like queries to get any data you may be looking for on any object.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of right now. Fortunately we have not had to run any data recoveries yet, but so far so good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company is a Internet Service Provider and we do use Salesforce in a way that most other companies don't. Because of the way we do business, it's a great tool to go back in time and get specific data when a Sales rep submitted an incorrect quote, so that we can analyze what went wrong and correct it (just to mention an example).

Easy Setup, Great Documentation

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've been very happy with OwnBackup, it was the easiest setup for anything related to Salesforce that I've done in my nearly 10 years of being an admin. I've used it a few times now to verify if records were being deleted or never were there when it was too late to check the recycle bin. Having the peace of mind knowing my data is safe with so many users is really beneficial for me and my co-admin.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not really sure how the metadata restore works, I haven't had to do it, but there were a lot of steps in the instructions. I'm not so worried about it but who knows in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our org keeps growing, and with workflows firing left and right, automated tasks being created, etc. it was really hard to answer when I was asked a month later if something ever triggered or not. I can go back and look on the day the record should have been created for a solid answer. It gives me peace of mind I've never had before and an easier way of checking data for my users.

Ownbackup is the best backup tool in the market!

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ownbackup has some really great features like Compare, Backup and Restore. Compare job helps admins compare the 2 different backups and find the modified data in all fields. Backup functionality also works like a charm and basically is a 'one-time setup and forget' feature. Restore can be a bit of a challenge when Ownback fails to keep all the object relationships intact.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit finicky with complex data models like Financial Services Cloud where we use person accounts in addition to a lot of different relationship objects. Sandbox seeding is another great feature but it is very difficult to apply filters and get sample data to load to the sandbox. The filtering can definitely be more advanced in the sense that Ownbackup automatically applies filters to all the related objects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Ownbackup to backup our Salesforce org and we also used Sandbox seeding but it was not a very straightforward feature to use. It requires a lot of time and effort to figure out the right filters that can be applied to reduce the data size to less than 200mb for our dev sandboxes.

A better way to backup the Salesforce data

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Configuration with Salesforce is very easy.
Everyday data is backup with the preferred time. You can restore the data as well to the sandboxes. This is very much required if you have a sandbox with lots of configuration present, and you need to refresh the sandbox from production, all data goes away. So you can use OwnBackup to restore those data quickly to the sandbox again, rather than spending hours/days. Also you can define if you want full data backup or specific objects data only.
Daily notification if bulk data is added/updated/deleted.
Compare the metadata before and after the deployment, and also provides the list of all metadata which is changed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The metadata restore option. If we want to fully restore all metadata, that option is not there. Only one component metadata can be restore. This create issue if you have dependency between component, and you want to restore that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily alerts if data is added/deleted/updated in bulk.
Metadata change comparison.
Databackup from production and sandboxes, and use the same after sandbox is getting refreshed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a good tool, and I recommend using this.

Own{backup]

  • May 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability have data and metadata backed up without issue and can be used in template for seeding a DEV Sandbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some parts can be confusing when trying to limit the data for sandbox seeding, and might be better if it was more intuitive when setting up the criteria. Cross Object criteria setting can take several iterations before getting what you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Regulatory and recoverability issues are solved with Own{backup}. Being able to also backup multiple instances of Salesforce within a single interface also saves time and effort across environments.
