OwnBackup has been a lifesaver!
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the compare feature. We've had some records that get deleted and we're able to compare 2 backups and it works great!
It's also great to add data into sandboxes for testing.
It's also great to add data into sandboxes for testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the only thing I dislike is that there are so many features that you can use, you just have to figure out where/how to use them. I wish that was a little easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to recover several records that have gotten deleted by mistake and been able to restore those records along with any related records and re-link them together.
It's been a great peace of mind that we have OwnBackup!

Love the product, easy to maintain.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to maintain and learning curve for new users is simple and fast. Regular support is great! but could use a bit better response time on API support. Product has great feature but has room for improvement. Unlimited storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Support for API is not that great,
2. Cost of product is based on sf licenses and is a bit high for us,
3. lack of API access resources and very difficult to get is up and running to support or improve our DevOps automations. Your internal devops team couldn't fix the issues we have or properly setup the api user.

Backup data and metadata. ALso, planning to make api calls to quick of metadata compare after each release.
OwnBackUp Review
What do you like best about the product?
The weekly download of your whole org, the ability to check on the status/health of your instance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is very useful and haven't found any issues using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have a backup if loads of data is deleted or lost.
Multi-Purpose Solution
What do you like best about the product?
We really love the ability for OwnBackup to integrate with multiple orgs. This helps consolidate all of our back-up needs in one place. We can set specific warnings or notifications to be sent if record addition, change, or deletion percentages are past a certain threshold, which can also be set to fit our specific needs or requirements. OwnBackup also has the ability to pull data from the run jobs as CSV files to use in multiple scenarios, such as finding every little report you needed to audit in Salesforce, not just a back-up in case of system failure.
What do you dislike about the product?
When we first started with OwnBackup, the interface took some getting used to. Also, comparing change files is difficult to do within the software. We found it better to just export the data from OwnBackup (a pro in and of itself) as a CSV and then compare in Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OwnBackup has helped with the obvious, having a robust back-up system in case of system failure in our CRM. This has saved many hours of time having to export the data backups manually. It has also helped tremendously to pull reports of each object, helping save much time in auditing and report preparation.
Awesome Product
What do you like best about the product?
Knowing where our backups are at all times makes it so much simpler!
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found nothing that I do not like about OwnBackup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a need to backup our Salesforce instance. OwnBackup made it easy for us, we are also able to Anonymize the data to lower environments instead of the refreshing of instance which brought it's own set of additional steps needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a cloud backup system, OwnBackup is the easiest and fastest to implement
Reliable and great tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to restore all deleted data and undo actions that can't be undone on Salesforce
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that it takes long time to finish the jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Restoring merged accounts for my users.
Refreshing Sandbox
Refreshing Sandbox
Does the job!
What do you like best about the product?
I don't need to think about it. I receive emails that tell me that the backups are complete (for all instances), and can clearly see if I need to take action. The same emails also warn me if the % of data being backed up has increased/decreased. Very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know of any downsides to using Ownbackup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backing up data from all instances (Prod, UAT, and development sandboxes).

What do you like best about the product?
There are so many things about OwnBackup that we like at our organization. The setup is extremely easy to complete and there is little to no up-keep for the backups.
There are many backup solutions out there, and I have tried a couple others and OwnBackup is easy to use, has a ton of features and the people there are fantastic. One of the many features that are extremely beneficial is the Alert functionality that will send you a notification when records have updated, deleted, created etc all based on your criteria. There are other users adding, removing and updating data in the org and it is nice to see when these changes occur.
There is also the metadata compare feature that will allow you to see what changes have been made to code between environments and/or different time frames.
Another excellent feature that I wish I had more time to explore and was unable to keep is sandbox seeding. Being able to seed a sandbox with the specific data that will be needed to properly test a new process or configuration is key and will speed up the process tremendously.

One of my only complaints is that you are unable to customize exactly what notifications you get when you have created multiple BUs. As the master admin, I receive alerts for all BUs and that can be frustrating. Another feature that can be a little cumbersome is the fact that FLS is a factor and will not be updated if the logged in user for the backup does not have access to a field. There are occasions where there are fields from third party's that we are unable to update or instances where a different user is creating fields and fails to add visibility for the field to the OB user.

With our company and salesforce instance growing daily it was becoming a very lengthy process to download and maintain backups with the weekly backup service. It was literally taking us days to get the files to download to our backup drive and if we did lose any data the time it took to locate and recover was even longer. We have been able to retrieve lost data on a few occasions that would not have been possible without OwnBackup. Without OB we would have lost hundreds of thousands of records that were lost during a migration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you do your research first. We originally didn't like the pricing for OwnBackup and I believe that is why we went with Backupify but soon realized that we were not happy with the product. The age old saying of 'You get what you pay for' holds true in this instance.
Amazing Product & Equally Amazing Support/Company
What do you like best about the product?
Before OwnBackup, we were only using the weekly data export from Salesforce. The problem is these files weren't actually helpful if we need to do a restore because it would require us to manually map out all the relationships again using Data Loader and this would almost be as painful as migrating the data from SharePoint which we originally had to do. It would probably take at least 2-4 weeks of clean up and manual work to get it back up and running so this was not a real backup/recovery option. After Salesforce announced that they are ending their data recovery service as of July 31 2020 we decided to look into OwnBackup as our option after meeting them at Salesforce Dreamforce and World Tour. Their features and UI amazed me and I couldn't wait to start using the system. My favorite tools they offer as part of their service (besides the general full backup/recovery) are:
Compare - Compare data and metadata at any level to see what’s been added, deleted, or changed.
Archiver - Allows me to setup archiving properties which helps keep the data clean/current and helps the system run smoothly.
On top of just having the peace of mind that the data can be easily recovered, it's also a platform I use on weekly basis when users ask why their reports or queries aren't working, or what happened to their dashboards. I'm able to track when and what changed and who did it. It also lets me setup Smart Alerts to automatically notify me when a rule I set up is triggered (ex. 100 accounts are changed/edited/deleted).
We worked with David Schwartz to get this deal done and I can highly recommend him and the rest of the team for the roll out. It only took about 10 minutes to configure and they walked us through the entire extremely simple process.

What do you dislike about the product?
So far there is nothing to dislike. The UI is great, support is perfect, and the price is reasonable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Significantly less time and resources needed if any data becomes corrupt.
