THE BEST INVESTMENT EVER - PROTECT YOUR DATA AND METADATA
What do you like best about the product?
Ownback allows you to backup both data and metadata, which is great for when metadata updates or changes go wrong. The App allows you to configure alert for when records are either updated or deleted, or when a backup process has errors or fails to complete, making the Administrator job easier. You can also compare backup jobs different dates and even from production or sandbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though the app backs up the entire salesforce instance, including community, not all files restoration are supported by the technical team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because Ownbackup allows for both metadata and data backup, your investment is protected from disaster. If something gets deleted by accident, corrupted during an update, it can be restored to its original state.
Ownbackup is probably one of the Best Investment my organization has made in order to protect our Salesforce Instance.
The Sales and Customer Success Teams were great in helping with the initial setup. Ownbackup is a very powerful tool, easy to configure, and comes with many useful features.
A couple weeks ago we had to reach out to Ownbackup Technical Team for some complex data recovery. Tech Support Randy Salcedo and Brendon Moran were Extremely Resourceful in assisting with the data recovery project – THANK YOU!
I highly recommend the product and the company.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using ownback with Salesforce, make sure that all data and metadata you intend to back up - all file types are supported by the support team in case of recovery.
Salesforce Admin

What do you dislike about the product?
Restore data is a bit complex. You have to restore the whole data or nothing, not be able to pick on more granular level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data backup and sandbox seeding are major functionalities we use. They save so much time and speed up our dev process dramatically.
Solid and Polished Backup Product Offers Peace of Mind
What do you like best about the product?
When (not "if") emergency strikes we are covered from data loss by using OwnBackup. The modern user interface is stress free, intuitive, and offers useful features and insights into our Salesforce Org. It is a pleasure to use and actions to take are straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I appreciate that there are inherent limitations to any backup product, given the limits on data passing between Salesforce and OwnBackup (or any other platform) I would like to see a true, 100% thorough backup option that really backs up EVERYTHING. Data and all metadata so the backups are truly complete. Again I know this is not a limitation on OwnBackup's side but nevertheless it's still a limitation for the business user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can search for content in records that have long been deleted from our Salesforce org. The is a feature even Salesforce itself does not have, and makes finding elusive records, old or new, easier to do.
OwnBackup has been very easy to use and reliable
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Set it and forget it. Getting email status reports of completed or failed backups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really, except the cost of maintaining the subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer wanted to rely on Salesforce for a restore in case of data loss. Now we have an alternative that is easy to access and doesn't cost us big money for a restore.
OWNBackup fills gaps in Salesforce backups, but falls short as a litigation support tool.
What do you like best about the product?
OWNBackup provides needed comfort as to the availability of records for easier export than Salesforce affords, but as this function is often used in a litigation context, OWNBackup's alteration of metadata makes this tool an imperfect solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
OWNBackup does appear to backup all relevant files, but it changes the metadata (document title, dates modified, etc) of these documents, rendering it difficult to ensure that in a litigation production, all documents have been produced (a manual comparison to Salesforce records is still required, which is time consuming and inefficient), and the alteration of metadata can leave a party in violation of a legal hold.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OWNBackup was employed by my organization to provide better or more thorough exports of information required to be produced pursuant to the Freedom of Information Law or in response to demands for records.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As a data retention/backup tool, OwnBackup is an effective tool to use. I would encourage anyone who may rely on OwnBackup for litigation support purposes to evaluate whether the format in which records export from the tool will meet legal needs.
OwnBackup is our preferred backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to create snapshots in time, and run diffs against. This has helped us out in our org migration project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer to reconnect to a refreshed sandbox, instead a new connection needs to be made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to restore Profiles and Permission Sets that were damaged. We have also used it to load seed and diff data into a new org.
Gave me full confidence our system was backed up
What do you like best about the product?
I'm confident it is working. They email you the moment it's not. We used it for Salesforce. I liked being able to filter information so you don't have to pull down the whole thing. It was perfect when we were trying to process every attachment we had to anything in SF. We would have had to build some massive projects to do what OwnBackup did for us. We just linked it, allowed it to max our API call limit for awhile to get caught up on backups. After the initial backups, we never had any more issues with API call limits. We were able to download an export of our entire SF, use a custom app to process them into a new file structure, and upload them to Sharefile.com
Routine on-demand backups are very fast. It would take less than 30 minutes to take an incremental snapshot.
Routine on-demand backups are very fast. It would take less than 30 minutes to take an incremental snapshot.
What do you dislike about the product?
It all takes a while to do things. To get a download of our entire SF would take a few hours. You queue up export jobs. They run for a bit, ask you to further filter, and then it takes a little while after that to get the results. It all works fine, but certainly, nothing feels dynamic. The filtering you have to do through excel. You download an excel sheet, then you can remove attributes, then let it continue getting your data. Pricing is per user and was getting expensive for us, but nothing compared to the cost of SF. We ditched SF, and then didn't need OwnBackup
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our entire customer database was in SF. That's working millions to us, so the cost of Ownbackup was completely worth it. It was very easy to link and gave use all complete ease about the data having restore points of at least every day in case if any of our bulk updates ever horrifically messed anything up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great hands-off way to backup SF and be confident it's working. They send weekly emails with details as well as immediate emails if a backup completely fails. It's good for advanced users to pull data back from. It's good for Sandbox seeding. They have a good solution for it with features like scrambling data so end users can test without security concerns.
Great Product, Powerful and Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Unlimited backups-Can take backups from any environment from a single UI.
Sandbox Seeding-Setup a sandbox very quickly with the data you want. Relationships between objects are intact when data is restored form one environment to the other.

What do you dislike about the product?
there is no instant result, everything is Job based.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool for backing up your data and metadata. This tool can be used to setup data with all the relations in place using the sandbox seeding feature. This tool cannot be used for Deployment from one sandbox to the other.
Own{backup} we use for the salesforce data
What do you like best about the product?
I have the flexibility of scheduling the back jobs in convenient time. we have like more than 12 org we back the data frequently using Own{backup} we will monitor the reports frequently and submit it to my managers .
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the errors after the job completion, I will happen because of several reasons within the org to org. like the permission issue with the our system to the backup data,But it gives the exact error what to resolve so it is easy to fix it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We backup the data in salesforce in biweekly basis, just in cause data loss or corruption caused.
