best

What do you like best about the product?
Since I've been working on localization is PhraseApp the best tool I've ever worked with. It's easy, productive, safe with authentification, very transparent.
What do you dislike about the product?
it's hard to say what I dislike. Maybe only emails that our work is not finished yet :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's pro bono work for Tutanota Desktop and Website, doing localizations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need good toll, you are on spot!

Say goodbye to copy+paste

What do you like best about the product?
Before PhraseApp we wasted hours copying and pasting data from spreadsheet to spreadsheet and are now able to quickly speed through the process of adding new localisations to our builds. Devs can create their own key names ensuring that if we decide to update the placeholder text during development the code doesn’t need to change and all our loca is now organised into manageable projects that are easy to search, categorise, and pull data from if needed. Additionally, the team at PhraseApp are incredibly responsive to product enhancement requests. I asked for some functionality and when they were able to develop my request, I was emailed with an invite to the beta!
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to pay in advance (i.e. have credits) for translations would be nice instead of paying per translation request. Would also be wonderful to have options to pay for translations with more currencies. Otherwise the software is excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have several small teams continually adding new keys to our app, creating translations for marketing, or updating our App Store pages which are all localised in slightly different sets of languages. With PhraseApp we know we will be getting the languages translated that we need for each application and we are no longer copy+pasting and sharing several spreadsheets across the team (looking back we must have had so many user errors with spreadsheets and copy+paste)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You may not realise how much time you are wasting in spreadsheets. Really take a look into how long each translation request takes you, or your team, EACH time you need one. If there are pain points - It is worth trialing PhraseApp.

User friendly and effective

What do you like best about the product?
The app is very well designed visually and easy to navigate with minumum training requred.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only time when I had difficulty with the tool is when I didn't have the correct rights in the system and tried to save a translated label. I didn't see the message popping up that I had no rights to save it because it was quite small and with no differentiating color. So I lost a day of trying to save and no results happening at the end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our organization, we were used to a very primary tool before starting using PhraseApp. Now everything is clear, sleek and fast thanks to this app. Multiple people in various roles can access it without issues. I also like that it works in any browser which was not the case before for our old tool

PhraseApp makes translations a breeze

What do you like best about the product?
PhraseApp’s built in machine translation makes it possible for us to release new versions of our apps super quickly. We can write the English strings, have the machine translations in place straight away and just push the button as they are good enough for an agile approach. Our human translators can then check, verify and update them if neccesary.
The github integration makes the whole process even smoother as the developers can created the strings as they code and push them all to PhraseApp when they commit their changes. PhraseApp can then notify all the relevant users that there are new strings waiting for them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be a little confusing at times
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has simplified our translation process a great deal, and we could never go back to the old way now!

What do you dislike about the product?

Excellent tool for Product Managers with less technical background

  • March 13, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Phraseapp is the possibility to easily add and change translations to keys without having a highly technical background. In our team developers and PMs with less technical background can work efficiently together thanks to Phraseapp. After some time I could even create keys by myself, so that developers could focus on other critical and more complex topics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Right now I can not think of a single negative aspect I encountered when using Phraseapp.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our workflow is constantly filled with new projects and now and then we had a shortage on developers. With Phraseapp, PMs and even other members from our company could assist the tech team and speed up our workflow. We could do more releases in the end and increased efficiency in our workflow.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, good user support, nice UI/UX, AI support, no ads. Free version include everything an individual translator would need.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to translate with a big team, or a company, you would prefer to buy the paid version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Good small Team Management, I'm able to check the progress, review the roles,...
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are an individual, and just translate for fun, as a hobby or translate for uploading, etc but just occasionally only, this is the free product for you.

Life changing when it comes to manage translations across several products/platforms

  • February 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use. You can visualize quickly the different languages for all your products and view the progress reports for the ones that are being translated. I really like the verification stage because as a native speaker of a foreign language, there is always something related to your business that will not be translated correctly by a third party or it would just not make sense.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really! But I've never used another tool to compare either!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us, it's a very powerful tool that helps us build a library of translation. The terms we use in one product might be useful for another one later.
The benefits are :
- easier to use,
- faster and more reliable (previously we used notepad++!!!)
- very collaborative. You can have developers, translators, managers etc with specific access rights,

Easy to use and get's everything in one place

What do you like best about the product?
Really helpful for managing the consistency of our copy across the product (in English). And also keeping all translations in one place. In-context editor is brilliant for the first steps of translation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could improve the notification settings so that our translators get daily digests of what they need to translate. Would also be helpful to work on exclusions, so that once we replace a phrase, we can automatically exclude the string in all languages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great to find a tool that barely requires no engineer time after setup. Was able to add two more languages within 4 weeks as a result of using this tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As with most tools, you kind of have to commit to the setup to get the payoff, but we are really happy with our choice.

Best tool for managing translations!

  • February 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Managing all translations in the company is really easy with PhraseApp. It's very user-friendly and being aware of changes and comments is really convenient and simple.
It's also really easy to follow up on what's pending to be done and what's the other members of the team process.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing important I can complain about so far. The only thing that could be a little better is improving the flow when you have to translate a lot of keys and click with the mouse every time you finish one...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to translate several languages in one place. The fact that also you get a little description on the right side it makes you an idea of the content so you can translate better.
