A very neat and down-to-earth translating tool.

  • March 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A very neat alternative for the occasional translator, which offers much more to larger teams and organizations. I didn't expect and therefore I like the tool's attention to timelines and deadlines. I hope that it will be another incentive to keep me on track when completing projects for agencies, my language centre and clients in general. I also like the collaborative features, available even at the lowest levels of the tool's pricing.
What do you dislike about the product?
It might be a bit pricey when you're starting your own translation agency/company, but I wouldn't be surprised if it would prove value for money to you or your organization after just a few common translation projects. It took me a while to navigate within the project features, but that is just because there are so many!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the beginning, I wasn' t sure how to upload the original text to translate, but then I managed to integrate Memsource with my existing Microsoft Office account. I would also welcome a product tour for new users of Memsource upon the first login into the web and mobile version - it might reduce the time it takes to get down to the translation and project management itself.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend giving this software tool a try. I have already recommended it to the team and administrators of our English Language Centre, which needs translation in-house but also works with other companies in Slovakia which are in need of translating and localizing their services. I think it also might be of use at another international company where I am working within a team of translators on localising and translating on tight deadlines for major international clients.

Helps a lot with managing languages on multiple devices & screen sizes

  • March 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Easy-to-use UI (web-based, i.e. no local installation required)
- Possibility to tie in existing translation agencies
- Roles & rights management concept to grant different access levels depending on user group
- Everyone in our organization can easily modify terms (no more emails, phone calls & XLS-files)
- Phrase-support is really good (they're really fast, if you have a question)!
What do you dislike about the product?
- Glossary-functionality to manage terminology is nice, but glossary-terms cannot be hard-linked to project-terms (only recommendation)
- Not much else : )
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Managing multiple languages across our different devices w/ different screen sizes
- Also helps with harmonizing terminology across our projects

Powerful Translation, Slow Resonse

  • March 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability of the software to create custom combinations of words and to highlight their translation. This is the best property of Memsource.
What do you dislike about the product?
Long loading times are the most annoying. Long loading of the spelling tool etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some of my customers require translation via Memsource. I find this tool very useful and convenient. If not loading times, it would be the best.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a very powerful tool that helps a lot with your translation and localization projects. You can also implement MT.

Tool that makes Translations finaly easy.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the general concept and idea of the phrase platform. We use it in our project for 6 months and it made my PO, my designer and my developer's life much easier. It was no problem at all to migrate our "old" texts into the phrase via direct Android String import. Additionally, we use already the Sketch Plugin for Linking the screens directly which works quite nicely. Its a lot of work but it is nice to have.
It works very well for our "white label" product. I can just recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I notice here and there some minor issues in the platform. We used to lose our complete translations once but luckily we were able to recover it with the help of the admins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Traceability and visibility of translations. Speed of translations process, Micro adaption in translations, Assisting in the design phase, Easy text import/export.

Great tool for multi language projects

  • March 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and very initiative. I also like that you have machine translate (sometimes it's way off, but often shortens translating time).
What do you dislike about the product?
Current machine translating is Microsoft translate. It would be nice to have choice of other translate providers.
Downside of Phrase is also, you cannot directly see what you are translating. You can see only text but not the whole context (for example where on the webpage is the text located). I don't know if they will be able to improve this. Very difficult task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For multi language projects this tool is great. You can have concrete description about translation. You can also comment translation with other translators in project. Also nice functionality is history.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to parametrise text you are translating! Whatever program you are making, parametrise text. It will make translation easier. If you have troubles with importing languages that are only half translated, you can use Phrase to input default language to missing translations. So you will have all parameters filled with text.

Great time saving and efficient tool!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The chance to support every user with their local language and on top how easy it is to manage and integrate it.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be frank I have not experienced anything I could dislike using Phrase. On top I haven't used any other similar solutions, therefore I'm happy with how Phrase is helping me and our team and I can't think of anything specific which I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem which Phrase is solving for us is the time perspective. It is so much more efficient and easy to handle all translations using Phrase!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are struggling with handling translations for a lot of different countries/languages Phrase is the solution in my opinion. It helped and still helps us a lot. It is easy to integrate and very time efficient to use once it is fully integrated.

It boosted our localisation process

  • March 03, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A simple interface and all the integrations. It really helped speed up our process and in context editor which helped provide context to translators.
What do you dislike about the product?
React library for in-context editor is outdated, but we implemented a simple replacement with custom integrations within a day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us organize the process between a translation agency and a development team. Everything is synchronized automatically or just a click away.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its very simple if you just want to localize your app.

    Translation and Localization

Perfect translation management, easy collaboration with customers

  • March 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Using PhraseApp it becomes easy and comfortable to even manage huge amounts of content. The additional features also are helpful for translators to ensure consistency and compare translated versions of other languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, the only thing I can think of that I sometimes face issues with is the search function. It is not quite advanced and offers limited options to search for specific sequences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase has been great to manage different target languages and helps to ensure consistency.

Great Value for Managing Multilingual Projects

  • February 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Userfriendly UI and does not require detailed training. The support is very quick when having difficulties or questions or improvement issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
still waiting for a read only permission/role and maybe for less price in order to use Phrase also as glossary for translation memory and terminology topics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
handling different locales and getting ride of big excel-files ;-)
