A Company that Constantly Improves Their Service and Product

  • February 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Service and Help tools!!! Great customer service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the communication tools had made organizing email and direct mail blasts easier. I like to schedule emails and must duplicate and recopy. Hard to find them in the list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help me stay on top of new donors and lasped donors

    Non-Profit Organization Management

All-in-one to stay organized

  • January 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is right there in Bonterra - donation tracking, text/mass email creation, personalized campaigns, etc. Everything to keep a lot of the non-profit administrative stuff organized. Very self-intuitive as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes donors will donate to a campaign that expired over a year ago and even if you set a final date for donations, the campaign doesn't "close." Its no problem to edit the donation to the intended campaign, but then it brings the expired campaign back up to the top of the list.

Also, it's difficult to add a new name to mass mailings. Sometimes you may want to personalize a mass email to a certain group of donors from a board member or other person, and it's difficult to add that additional name. So all of the mass emails have to come from the same staff member in the organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps us track donation receipts for donors and track their lifetime donations

A great platform with multiple tools and support for non profits

What do you like best about the product?
Our small nonprofit was struggling to manage our donors, donations and engagement trying to cobble together a web of support with various options. We moved to Network for Good to consolidate our information and tactics for optimum reach and engagement. Having all of the information in one place (contact info, giving info, interactions, click rate, etc) has been immensely helpful to our small staff wearing many, many hats. Organized groups allow us to target communications and not send massive scattershot emails. We haven't had many issues but the minor things that have come up have been handled quickly and easily with customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of our biggest cons is the price tag. We are a small nonprofit and every penny spent needs to be for a good reason. It was an expensive decision for us but we have appreciated all the tools and benefits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fundraising campaigns were something that we didn't even realize we needed but have been so great. The flexibility to have different campaigns for different needs has been great. I feel like our donor engagement and the tools to thank our donors has been so helpful.

All in one, affordable, and user friendly

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Bonterra for our fundraising efforts, and it's absolutely impressive. The platform is user-friendly and offers an all-in-one approach to managing donors, emails, and event packages. The online auction feature is a standout – incredibly efficient and innovative. Additionally, their CRM makes donor relationship management feel more like a partnership. It's been impactful for us, offering a great ROI with every use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being a one-person fundraising organization, I wish I had more people to help me so that I can utilize everything there is to offer!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything is in one place and easy to use.

Slick interface, problematic issues to deal with.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how we get notifications to send an email or video to thank people for donations. The segmenting is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was not diclosed in the sale proces that it takes 5-6 days to clear funds. I've used multiple payment providers in the past and i've never seen it longer thatn 48 hours.
This has put us in a funds crunch and we're working out how to resolve.
It would have been nice to have transparency about this before we spent thousands of dollars to roll out, many hours to get up and running and canceled legacy systems that actually worked.

Also, if you need help and support - good luck. There is supposedly a chat button in the platform, but it comes and goes as they do not work the stated service hours. This is a big SLA issue for us.
Also, there is not support number, only a voicemail - that is rarely replied to.
Email support is so slow, can take days.

If you're a veteran NFG/Bonterra user, you may never need support, but if you are not, good luck figuring it out. I'd say, please plan out what you need to do (emails/setting up campaigns/etc) WAY in advance. If you start on something with a few days runway and need help, you're going to end up in a mess due to paltry support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like how we get notifications to send an email or video to thank people for donations. The segmenting is great.

Bonterra Guided Fundraising helps us get the funds we need to help those in need.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the easy to use interface. We can easily connect to donors, see what our campaigns are doing, and acknowledge donor gifts quickly. They give us a structured and detailed plan for our fundraising campaigns that make it so convenient for us to implement. We could not do what we do without Bonterra!
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, there is nothing I dislike about Bonterra. No compplaints!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They help us track our yearly donations and our individual donations. We can see if someone opened an acknowledgement/thank you letter and if they are a lapsed donor. We can see up-to-date information about our current giving and where we stand.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most is that it is easy to create and send out my montly newsletters.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is that if you set up a contact as a business, you can only enter one email address.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps non profits raise money, and keep track of donations, while sending email blasts out for fundraisers and information to every contact at once, or in groups,

Bonterra Guided Fundraising was a good choice for us.

What do you like best about the product?
Bonterra GF has made some tasks much easier, and it integrates donation tracking, donor communications, and campaigns, which is something we really needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working with institutional funding and grants is more difficult than working with individual donors, and it takes some tweaking to make it work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bonterra helps us by providing an easily navigable interface for tracking funding.
Bonterra also provides reporting on all of our transactions .
Fundraising campaigns are easily created and managed, which can make it easier to raise funds
Bonterra data makes it easier to reconcile our books, saving time and effort.
Campaign integration also gives us a better ability to track client communications.

    Primary/Secondary Education

Bonterra provides the knowledge and expertise we were missing

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Not only did we need an easy-to-use donor management system, but we needed good tech support, excellent training on how to use the system, and a coach to teach us all we needed to know about fundraising, connecting with donors, and how to maximize our donations. Bonterra delivered all that and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found any downsides to using Bonterra Guided Fundraising unless it is that we would love to have more hours with our fundraising coach. But really, the advice we get is so helpful that we have been able to succeed at our fundraising.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had our donor list on various scraps of paper and would have to hand copy adddresses--Bonterra enables us to organize and automate the whole thing. In addition, we had no idea how to write effective donor letters, fundraising appeals and so on and now we do.

Has helped keep us organized in our fundraising efforts.

What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of BGF is its excellent support team. Support team responses are very detailed and the response time is quick. The BGF platform is very user-friendly, making it easy for even our older users who help us pull data or make notes on donor profiles. The simplicity of the platform makes it easy to navigate and find exactly what you are looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside of BGF is the lack of past donor status. For example, we are unable to generate a report or filter out monthly donors who have stopped giving in the last month. Although BFG offers a variety of filters to extract information about donors, it would be great if we were to view trends of giving in terms of donor status. Lastly, it would be great to have a bit more flexibility in how we can label donors as lapsed In many cases, especially for my organization a lapsed donor is someone who has not given in two years due to the nature of our size.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BGF has helps us stay oganized with a central hub for all our donor information. This is especially helpful as we start to focus on maintaining strong donor retention and develop re-engagement strategies.
