Great project management tool for collaborative teams
What do you like best about the product?
I particularly like how flexible the tool is to be adapted to each team's workflows. The ability to add custom fields makes it very flexible. The ability to add the same task to different projects make sit possible for teams to organize their projects the way they want without having to duplicate tasks, thus making it possible to have a full understanding of the work planned and being done across all teams. The integration with the Google docs suite of products is also a great advantage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Flexibility comes at a cost, since users might start using different flavours for the workflows. It's important to make sure the workflows are well defined, communicated and then enforced, to make sure things don't get chaotic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing a large number of projects with multi-functional teams who have members scattered across the world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you try to bite more that you can chew you might not get the value you expect.
Start simple and get your feet wet in the tool. As you evolve and you learn to use the product, look at more advanced features and start adding more functionality to your processes.

Terrific for project management on a remote team
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has linked up beautifully with the Suite at our organization, making it easy to assign tasks, create a list of deliverables in different areas of the organization, and corral notes about various projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is still somewhat new, so there are a few kinks, particularly for assigning tasks to multiple people, but the pros far outweigh the cons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has been a godsend for assigning tasks and gathering information in one place. Our team works remotely, so it's easy for things to get lost in the shuffle. Asana aggregates our process much better than a bunch of emails could!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think through the areas where you'd like to use Asana—is it for your fundraising team, project management more holistically, marketing, or all of the above? It can do all of these things, but requires full staff buy-in to be properly effective.
Asana works great for my group
What do you like best about the product?
Tasks and deadlines can be assigned to people in my work group and we can each track when tasks have been completed. This eliminates the need to "check in" on coworkers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Receiving email notifications when tasks are assigned... although I discovered that these can be managed to once a day or weekly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It works well for our task management needs. We have remote employees as well as office staff and using Asana allows us all to be on the same page regarding who is doing what on a project.
By the far the best task management software
What do you like best about the product?
I tried out all of the different task management softwares for small teams, and Asana is by far the easiest to use and has the best user interface. Asana makes it simple to create projects and sub-projects and track the progress for each.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only major complaint about Asana is they do not have a native desktop app for Mac. Had to download a different software to make their web-version function like an app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing projects with multiple team members. Even use it to create tasks/lists for my personal use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend testing Asana. Within just 10-15 minutes of a trial, you will see how easy it is to create projects, deadlines, and assign tasks to team members. Overall, we are extremely happy with our implementation of Asana!
Asana - the best online project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the super easy-to-use interface. The Asana software is extremely simple to use and everything is so intuitive, which is super nice. They have tutorials that are optional when you first log into your account that you can go through to learn about all the different things that Asana has to offer. The ability to add your entire team to your project plans is a phenomenal way to get work done together even if you are not in the same place at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that more of the features on Asana were not premium features, and were available with the free version. As a small business with not too many available funds for software such as Asana, it would be nice to have these additional features to use with the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana provides an excellent way to organize each of our project plans that we are working on at NoMo Diagnostics. We use the collaborative features all the time as some of our employees are located in New York and the rest are in Chicago. The time difference sometimes makes it hard to find a time to meet together, but the collaboration features allow us to all review the project plan on our own time and make our own contributions to the data when needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a simple, yet effective way to do project management, then Asana is definitely the way to go.
Great for project management
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is great for cross-team project management. I really like that they added the new boards feature, which is similar to Trello. This has allowed me to consolidate all of my project management onto Asana instead of multiple vendors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I get recurring tasks that I can't seem to delete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped me execute on projects with cross-team members. I like that you can create teams, and then members from different teams can collaborate on projects. It's also nice that you can sum up all of your ongoing tasks in an aggregated to-do list or just look at your tasks as part of each project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your only hesitation is that you currently use Trello, check out Asana's board feature. It's pretty similar.
Asana Project Management Review
What do you like best about the product?
The aesthetics of Asana set it a part from other project management platforms. Content is appropriately spaced, the colors are bright and inviting, and the navigation of projects is easy. It also has many opportunities to link to other apps, such as slack, dropbox, google, etc., making its use seamless across the entire business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version of Asana is sufficient; however, the premium paid version has so many more features. I wish that there were more of these features available in the free version, such as timelines. This is less about the software and more about me wishing I could afford the premium version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has made it much easier for our team to break down the tasks necessary for our projects. It has also made collaboration much easier as information is always up to date and we never have to worry about whether we're working on an old version of something.
Endless Possibilities
What do you like best about the product?
I love the simple platform and how endless the possibilities are. There's a bit of a learning curve but once you create the systems you need it flows seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lists can be tricky to create when you're first getting started.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Processes, idea and resource organization, client workflow
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read helpful tips from blogs and research suggestions on how others utilize Asana for their business to make sure you get the most out of it!
Organize yourself productively in all your contexts
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to use, in less than an hour you can learn to use all its functionalities. It is ideal to have a list of the tasks you do during the week, both in your work and in your daily life. You can create projects in the form of boards to track and create reminders. You can create very detailed checklist templates to copy and paste whenever you need it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is a bit heavy, I tried it with an average internet connection and I had to wait long enough for all the dependencies to load. The rest is an excellent software, I do not regret having it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has the option to be synchronized with Google Calendar and increase its potential use, as well as the synchronization with Gmail to activate it appears a button to send the email to the tasks, so you can turn it into a project, just great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The free version is very complete and I think it is more than enough for any type of average user. The premium version includes schedules, custom fields and much more. It's really worth paying for a premium version since its price is very low.
Easy to use task management for teams
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very easy to use despite packing many great features. The app makes it easy to collaborate with your colleagues on tasks and projects. The boards feature is very useful for us as we use it to assign different columns to different stages of our project. This allows us to quickly know the status of the project. Asana's mobile apps also allow us to manage our projects quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana does not support switching between list and board layouts. While this is a minor inconvenience it would be great if different users could switch between layouts. This would allow our developers to use the board layout to match the Kanban style, while the managers could use the more traditional lists that they are more familiar with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped us manage our projects better by allowing us to know what each team member is working on. This has resulted in better communication within the team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend some time reading about the features of the product. Asana is very simple and easy to use and a lot of neat features are hidden away. Read their documentation, take time to set up your project, categories/tags and your board.
