Retool: A tool to build tools
What do you like best about the product?
Integrating databases is quick and straightforward. Additionally, the UI builder is intuitive and contains tons of custom settings for each component, reducing the amount of work the Retool developer must put in to achieve a working product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Debugging issues in Retool scripts is not straightforward and requires more steps than typical front-end debugging via browser tools. Also, the developer needs to put in work to get asynchronous request handling working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company is using Retool to quickly and efficiently build out internal tools. The speed at which tools are implemented with Retool versus creating tools using Django's internal framework gives back time to developers to work on other initiatives.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

An easy and fast backoffice builder tool
What do you like best about the product?
The number of integrations ready to be used to create a back-office panel. Salesofrce, AWS S3 and DynamodDb were the most useful for our use case.
We have tried a few of other services and they were not so easy to use.
We have tried a few of other services and they were not so easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like some more flexibility in the elements personalization, but it's hopeful something that will come soon
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We managed to fastly and easily create a complete back-office for our platform.
Great tool for small businesses
What do you like best about the product?
Retool is excellent for making quick apps to manage the internals of a small business better. The best part about Retool is how it can connect to existing data sources, keeping a single source of truth for essential data. We connected directly to our website's already existing product database to give our sales team a clearer view of all of our products.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to find things to dislike about Retool, most problems are just minor annoyances. For example the Table component can't be displayed as an infinite scrolling table (such as AirTable or Google Sheets) and must be paginated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool gives our team better tools to view our products, add internal notes, and display sales. Our sales team can easily filter products, for example, to find products released after a specific date. We also have a Retool app for displaying the sales that we have made, which includes beautiful graphs and charts to see how our business is doing. Retool has been able to save the precious time of our staff and give us a better sense of our company's status without having to chart sales figures manually.
Awesome tool!
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is really friendly. There's a learning curve but it's not too steep.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have more integrations to other data sources
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a backup sql database where we need to get reports from. Retool easily integrates with it and I can create useful tools
Retool powers billing and customer operations workflows
What do you like best about the product?
I like the extensibility of Retool. It allowed us to build a very intuitive sales dashboard that gives insight into customer account usage, payment details, and hosts several integrations for us as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool itself can be slow oftentimes, and I've found that it can sometimes take a while to refresh or get stuck on a certain page. Overall those are not huge pains but worth noting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our problem was not having one consolidated place to see insights on our customers' usage and hold all of their billing information associated with their account. We were able to design the system so it hosts all this info and allows us to turn certain features on/off for our customers.
The best product you can use in 2022
What do you like best about the product?
Setting up the UI is ridiculously easy. You can configure your sources and hook them up with the UI elements with little to no effort. What's especially useful is that you can see the preview of the data as you map it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I only dislike that I didn't start using Retool earlier!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool provides enough flexibility for me to design anything the business demands. The major benefit is that I don't need an engineer to make changes. Everyone can create their own experience that fits just them. You only expose the data.
Amazing tool to get dashboards up and running!
What do you like best about the product?
Retool helps my team get multiple dashboards up and running with exceptional pace.
This enables us to ensure that all ops and CS dashboards do not require additional development effort and can leverage the drag and drop interface by retool.
This enables us to ensure that all ops and CS dashboards do not require additional development effort and can leverage the drag and drop interface by retool.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things which, by design, are required to restart the application/limit retool's capability.
For instance, the REST APIs, by default, can't have more than 120 seconds timeouts. Or, the REST API also does not support pagination in it's implementation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating multiple dashboards for our ops teams, and also creating multiple CS dashboards to expedite customer queries with pace.
This makes sure that we don't spend engineering bandwidth to a large extent to provision these use cases.

A great tool to build tools
What do you like best about the product?
Retool makes it super easy to create internal tools, database & API interactions very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time, there is nothing I dislike about Retool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Retool as a database query tool. It's super easy to grant access with SSO.
Retool is clutch for any startup trying to build as quickly as possible
What do you like best about the product?
Best part of Retool is how easily anyone (technical or non-technical) can build custom internal tools in a visual dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the onboarding tutorial is great (and I routinely get emails from them about demo sessions) I think they need to revamp some of their examples/templates to convince other nontechnical founders why it's better than paying for pre-built tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using Retool to give my new hires the ability to make their own tools to automate a lot of the backoffice/administrative tasks that I did on my own without pulling our designer away from their primary focus.
Great tool for account management
What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly, easy to search multiple fields
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular. Maybe more visibility into usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is being able to have visibility into customers' usage with our products.
