Fast, flexible, but costly when scaling
What do you like best about the product?
The drag-and-drop interface is super intuitive, so our team can quickly design and tweak apps without getting bogged down in front-end coding. The integrations are a huge time-saver; we can connect our databases and APIs seamlessly, which means less time on setup and more time actually building. Plus, I love that Retool isn’t restrictive—you can add custom code whenever you need, which lets us tailor apps to our exact needs rather than being limited to rigid templates. Overall, great tool to get started, super easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform can get expensive, especially if you need multiple users working on applications simultaneously. Mobile responsiveness could be improved. Currently, it works best for desktop applications, so if you’re looking to build mobile-friendly tools, it may not be the best option out of the box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve used Retool primarily for building dashboards and tools that streamline our operations, such as data management, CRM, and inventory tracking. The time saved by using Retool compared to traditional development has been significant. It’s become a core part of our internal tools ecosystem, helping us improve productivity and allowing our team to respond quickly to business needs.
Turning Support Into Technical Experts
What do you like best about the product?
Creating on the fly internal tools that integrates with every aspect of our infrastructure. This helps empower our support users and anyone else to resolve our clients' issues. And it speeds up the development process of internal tools. It is used daily in all over our operations to support the support team as a tech expert and SME.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is designed for engineers and the permissions, controls, and organization can be overwhelming for users or non-tech savvy users to build on their own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping build rapidly deployed internal tools in the span of minutes for non-technical users.

What do you dislike about the product?
The IDE for programming (Javascript, SQL, Python) lacks many features. It isn't able to catch simple bugs like infinite loops, and there are no keyboard shortcuts (from what I can tell). VS Code integration is an option but it did not work for me, so I ended up having to copy paste changes in every time -- not fun.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing user-friendly and modern-looking tools to be made quickly.
Remarkable software, new feature wish-list
What do you like best about the product?
Retool fits our internal tooling requirements perfectly. We have a large and growing list of projects that can be customized with principles of secure design and modularity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Retool lacks in a significant department- the administration of it. Orchestrating users, linking with SCIM, granular controls, logging for compliance purposes and a dashboard to do all of these inside of retool is missing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal and custom tooling that is not available to external users.
Retool is a powerful and versatile low-code platform.
What do you like best about the product?
Seamless integrations and easy customization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve for advanced features can be steep, which might be challenging for less experienced users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It simplifies the process of combining data, allowing for quicker decision-making and better workflow efficiency. For teams, this translates to less time spent on development and more emphasis on essential tasks, ultimately boosting productivity and teamwork.
Great customer support and features
What do you like best about the product?
Customer support team is well equiped and resolves the doubts in a timely manner. The platform is easy to use and integrate with new features. It helped me implement the tools easily and good for frequent use. I got good reviews from the customer for the app that I developed in Retool.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I switch to different window while working on Retool and come back to Retool, I feel the app edit mode is not responsive sometimes. Overall its a good tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool helps in solving the app issues by enabling the low code development. It helps me to quick development.
Highly Customizable Platform for Building Internal (and some external) Tools
What do you like best about the product?
Retool makes building internal tools incredibly efficient by offering a wide range of pre-built components and an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Its flexibility with JavaScript and SQL lets us create customized applications without needing extensive engineering resources. The platform's ability to connect to virtually any database or API is a huge plus, allowing us to centralize data and functionality in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there was more styling ability, it would open retool up to more external use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool has streamlined our internal workflows by allowing us to build custom dashboards, management systems, and data visualizations quickly. We've automated several manual processes, saving time and reducing the need for multiple software tools. The ability to update and customize applications in real-time has empowered our team to iterate and improve solutions as we scale.

Outstanding platform without outstanding capabilities.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which to build on ideas and creativity. Simplest solution to go from idea to production. If you have an idea, very high likelihood it can be created in retool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The underlying unit testing is challenging. Being able to write a new module and test it with a set of test data is hard. Additionally, versioning code isn't very effective.

What do you dislike about the product?
I like the pricing model until you get to discuss enterprise pricing. There is not enough justification for us to take the plunge and take on that kind of expense. I also feel that the enterprise pricing was a complete shocker and adds quite a bit to your final price.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can get right into the SQL without delays in user interface design/development.
