24/7 monitoring enhances threat detection and ensures security

What is our primary use case?

My cybersecurity strategy primarily involves using CrowdStrike Falcon as an EDR solution, and currently, we are using it as an EDR. We are in discussion with the CrowdStrike team about having a managed SOC integrated as well.

I am using CrowdStrike Falcon in the online industry.

What is most valuable?

The most effective feature I find for threat detection is the 24/7 managed monitoring, which is a next-gen antivirus and next-gen Endpoint Detection and Response. In Endpoint Detection and Response, the best part is 24/7, 365 continuous monitoring to the endpoint for identifying any suspicious activity.

It is a next-gen AV which does AI-based behavioral analysis to detect and take action on malware, ransomware, and other threats.

The automated response capabilities in CrowdStrike Falcon perform analysis based on the behavior of the activity. If it finds objectionable content or breaking of sitemaps, it uses an untraditional approach to block it. When suspicious activity occurs, such as detecting a file with a document extension that is self-replicating, the detection happens automatically. In cases of zero-day threats, such files are automatically put in sandbox for extraction and analysis to identify why it is classified as malware.

Falcon's integration capabilities with other tools enhance my security posture because it has a very lightweight agent, and having a unified console gives us complete visibility, including endpoints, servers, containers, and cloud workloads.

What needs improvement?

To improve CrowdStrike Falcon for the next release, I recommend that they should have a model where it works as an agentless solution. In terms of everything which agent pushes to the server or to the single console, if it could also have a feature where you can have other ports, which is SNMP or your network devices or OT devices, which you can specifically monitor, that would be great.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with CrowdStrike Falcon for more than 2 years now.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Regarding the setup, in my experience and our team's experience, it is fairly easy to install.

I would rate the setup an eight because we have a heterogeneous environment. For Windows, it is very straightforward and easy. For Linux, you need to automate it. If you have a bulk force, then you have to use some CMF or similar solution, which makes it a bit more complex, but overall it is fairly easy.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

During these 2 years with CrowdStrike Falcon, I faced challenges, as everybody knows about the CrowdStrike outage. That was one significant issue, as it brought many Windows-related services to a halt due to one bad configuration push from CrowdStrike tracks.

Regarding stability, except for the incidents mentioned, I don't see any issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For scalability, it is easy to scale this solution for my company needs, and I would rate it a nine.

More than 7,000 users are working with CrowdStrike Falcon in my company.

Currently, we are 100% covered with CrowdStrike Falcon, but as the user base increases, we will certainly increase the license.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted CrowdStrike for support regarding the same incident, and my experience was pretty bad. There were people not knowing what was happening, how to mitigate it, or what to do. We were in a bad situation. After a couple of hours, their communication started flowing better, and things started improving.

My impression of the technical support of CrowdStrike, just for that particular instance, is less than four.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have evaluated other options before working with CrowdStrike, including Carbon Black and SentinelOne.

When comparing CrowdStrike and SentinelOne, I don't see many advantages, but because of one particular problem, we had to give away SentinelOne. Otherwise, all three products are quite comparable.

How was the initial setup?

Overall, it is a user-friendly tool.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

CrowdStrike Falcon is definitely an expensive solution.

What other advice do I have?

Since implementing CrowdStrike Falcon, I would say if it is protecting my environment, that fulfills my expectation. So far, I am happy.

For those who would to use CrowdStrike Falcon, I recommend that they need to negotiate hard on commercials because it is not an easy or affordable solution. From a commercial standpoint, they should negotiate hard. Technically, it is not a very difficult tool.

If we had not experienced that outage, I probably would have rated it ten. That incident gave it a very bad name because the support was inadequate. Many people might have decided to move out of CrowdStrike because of that incident.

My total rating for CrowdStrike Falcon is eight.

Experience seamless document collaboration and robust offline access with reliable support

What is our primary use case?

I use Windows on my notebook, and I also use Office 365, which includes Word and PowerPoint for documents and presentations.

We store our documents in SharePoint as document storage, but we don't use workflows in SharePoint because we mainly utilize ALM Jira for all our business processes; SharePoint operates mainly as a repository.

It's important to mention that when we are working on big reports, collaboration is key, allowing many people to work on the same document together.

I use both online and offline; some people do heavy editing on the web, but if I am working on big documents, I prefer to do it offline.

When I'm traveling, I definitely download all the documents on my notebook.

What is most valuable?

I should put my feedback mainly in Jira and Confluence, as these days I'm working around the clock.

With Office 365, I have never encountered issues; my experience is entirely positive.

We use Office 365, and colleagues download everything instantly; it's not about days.

What needs improvement?

It's very difficult to say how we can add more to our Microsoft experiences, as they are constantly improving and changing; regarding the stability of Microsoft products, I have no complaints.

With regard to Jira, when they implement new functionalities, quite often they deliver a product that is not stable enough; we can see this clearly, as sometimes something is not working, but this is about Jira, not about Office 365.

We are not using integrated Copilot, but our developers use OpenRoute a lot, which serves as a broker to interact with several AIs like ChatGPT and Google Gemini. I also know that some developers are using grounding.

I never think of integrating these technologies with Office because when it comes to programming questions, the developers are not using Word; they work in development environments like Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with this technology for approximately 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

With Office 365, I have never encountered issues; my experience is entirely positive.

Regarding the stability of Microsoft products, I have no complaints.

How are customer service and support?

I never contact Microsoft for support; Atlassian support contacts me quite often.

I remember other colleagues contacting Microsoft, but that was mainly about licensing questions, not anything technical.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Sometimes we are not happy with the price of available solutions, but when considering alternatives, such as OpenOffice, there's really nothing to compare. I know the formats of these open applications, but in terms of convenience and functionality, Office 365 is the only option.

In fact, it's not just a leader; Office 365 is the only real option we have now.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate it a nine out of ten; the only reason it's not a 10 is that the only comment I have is about the price. The functionality is perfect.

What is our primary use case?

For Office 365, I use it for communication and sharing information with the team, specifically when I have to share big files, so I use Teams because of the limitation in email. For professional communication with customers, we use the email, not chat.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Office 365, what I appreciate most about using it, is that the interface is very user-friendly and intuitive, especially when they include the Copilot.

The integration with Teams and SharePoint has impacted our project management in an awesome way. We can contact all team members through Teams, and all the information they produce is stored in our SharePoint.

What needs improvement?

For the Office 365 environment, I believe they have a lot of features already covered, but it just relies on the kind of license that the customer or user has. I don't have any improvements right now.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have had experience with Office 365 for the last five or six years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In general, my thoughts on the scalability of this product are that it is very reliable.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Microsoft support for this product as eight out of ten.

I give it this rating because the protocol is very much the same even when you have an emergency, and you don't have the specific expertise at the first call. They triage the incident, and that's acceptable, but it's not always aligned with the criticality for the business.

We did not use a different solution before Office 365, nor have we ever evaluated other options.

How was the initial setup?

Regarding the setup, it's not a simple process, but it is not the most complex solution in the market. It depends on the kind of implementation that the customer would prefer to have.

What was our ROI?

Regarding the return on investment for Office 365 for my company, it is very easy to defend the acquisition against the finance team because the product offers many advantages, time saving, quicker responses, accurate information, and security in the information and procedure.

What other advice do I have?

I don't remember the specific product as that would be a long time ago, maybe I was doing research and asking what the specific product would be.

I'm not technically experienced with EDRs, XDRs, and Privileged Access Management tools as I don't work in the technical side of the product. I work more in the commercial side of the business.

I use Teams as an end user, so I don't have any opinion regarding the backend or technical side of Microsoft solutions, including Office 365, Zoom, or other virtual meetings.

I would recommend Office 365 to other businesses because it is easy to use, very friendly, and common in your environment, with most customers using it, so there's no issue with performance.

Overall, I would give Office 365 a nine out of ten.

What is our primary use case?

I use Office 365 daily, but my satisfaction compared with the older version is not very good.

We use Teams for communication, Outlook for email, and the full set from Microsoft Office.

AI with Office 365 is useful for programming, and sometimes for reporting and creating emails, which is easier.

What is most valuable?

It helps me with my remote or hybrid workforce collaboration, but I prefer the desktop version, not the web.

It's hard to say what features are most valuable. In comparison with the old version, Office 365 is bigger and needs more resources, making it slower than before, so I don't see many benefits.

What needs improvement?

The automatic updates are problematic because I come to work and find some things different than they were yesterday, which is not a very good idea.

The stability for Office 365 is not very good, as the application sometimes closes without any information; the old version was much more stable.

The scalability can be complicated because it depends on Microsoft's policy for licensing, and it's expandable, but very complicated.

The pricing for Office 365 is higher now because my previous calculation for the box version or standard version with installation and lifetime support was easier and cheaper, and when we use one version for more than three years, it compares unfavorably with Microsoft's license policy.

In general, Office 365 is good, but I feel that it is becoming more of a huge software with many functions that are preferred at this time; after a few years, nobody knows what this technology was.

I'm not using M3; it's an enterprise system for automotive mostly based on IBM iSeries 400 computers, not Windows system, and we have used it for more than 20 years. We were satisfied, but the systems become obsolete in the last years, so we are looking for new possibilities.

How was the initial setup?

Reliance on cloud tools streamlines internal communication and email exchanges

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use cases for Office 365 would be to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. We use Outlook for email exchanges, Teams for internal communication purposes, so these are our predominant use cases.

Microsoft Teams is something that we prominently incorporated, and it has been found to be stable and quite user-friendly among the other project management tools and communications out there in the market.

What is most valuable?

One of the features which I predominantly use in Office 365 is the Designer option in PowerPoint, which I feel was very helpful in most cases for designing presentations, so I would say that was a good feature I would recommend.

SharePoint would have been one tool we often use, but I cannot specifically say a feature that has helped us significantly in terms of Office 365.

We have been using Microsoft for quite some time for our internal purposes, and we are predominantly relying on Microsoft tools and services for internal communications and email exchange.

We have been using Office 365 for more than a year right now. We have been using Teams and other tools provided by Office 365, and it has been a really good experience.

What needs improvement?

I do not have anything in my mind related to Office 365 that really needs improvement; whatever I have right now is meeting my needs.

With respect to Word, if we could have some kind of chat interface where I can select the text and replace it via generative text, that could be a great option.

Collaboration features prove valuable amidst minor iOS app challenges

What is our primary use case?

I am currently using the Enterprise version of Office 365. I'm a corporate user and use it for my own company. I usually use Office 365 for Teams, mostly, and my emails run through Outlook as well. I use Planner within Teams a lot, specifically Planner and Calendar.

How has it helped my organization?

OneDrive has proven most beneficial for collaboration in my team in particular. We have just recently started using OneDrive for this. It has been impactful, but I don't think we've fully utilized it to notice that sort of an impact.

What is most valuable?

I use OneDrive extensively. I find OneDrive valuable because I'm able to have all my documents in one place and I can access them from anywhere.

What needs improvement?

Certain features such as the Planner and dashboards don't work as efficiently with the iPad version, the iOS version. On the iOS version, it's a little glitchy. On iOS if I want to access my Planner, I have to go to the browser and access it, which is very inconvenient. I hope that they improve that part and make the iOS app self-sufficient. The main challenge is its compatibility with iOS.

For how long have I used the solution?

It's been one and a half years. Before that, we were using Google.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The setup of Office 365 rates around six out of ten in terms of ease. I rate it as six because while it isn't particularly difficult, there are many components within Office 365 to set up. It takes considerable time and requires someone dedicated to do it.

I would rate the stability of Office 365 as eight out of ten. Overall, it's been pretty good.

Office 365 is pretty scalable because you can keep adding users. All employees in my company are using Office 365, which amounts to around 300 users. I have plans to increase the usage of Office 365 in the future. The scalability allows me to do that.

Technical support for Office 365 is pretty good. I would rate them seven out of ten. The only concern is that sometimes the response time is a little slow.

The price is somewhat justified. However, beyond Office, there are other products. Some basic products should be included in the package, with an option to choose from one or two products to include.

What other advice do I have?

The security features of Office 365 meet my company's data protection needs. With their dual verification, dual authentication and authenticator, it's pretty good. The implementation took approximately 15 days. Based on my experience, I rate Office 365 eight out of ten.

My current use cases for Office 365 include normal Excel, Word, Exchange, and security.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features in Office 365 for me are productivity, as all my productivity requirements are fulfilled, and communication capabilities.

The main measurable benefit that Office 365 provides to my company is that it serves as our primary productivity tool.

What needs improvement?

I am not satisfied with the integration capabilities of Office 365, as we have not done any integration with third-party vendors.

I would like to see more AI tools in the next version of Office.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Office 365 for more than 10 years.

How are customer service and support?

I rate the technical support from Microsoft as seven out of ten, and I have feedback regarding their tech support.

Collaborative tools empower remote teamwork despite minor integration challenges

What is our primary use case?

My use case for Office 365 nowadays is collaboration generally, specifically for emails, SharePoint, and OneDrive, as I collaborate with my team.

Having Teams as my central workspace, especially while working remotely, is essential.

What is most valuable?

Teams is the most productive feature out of everything in Office 365, thanks to the combination of chat with meetings and centralized file sharing, along with the ability to embed other applications within Microsoft Teams.

Personally, I now build solutions, which reflects how my role has changed. I build solutions that I'll be launching out soon.

Currently, it's majorly around the use of productivity tools, such as Office 365 and the similar tools, including Teams, Teams Planner, and Power Automate.

What needs improvement?

Based on my experience, I think Microsoft could improve the onboarding process for Office 365, particularly for end users who are not as technical, by providing more technical onboarding similar to what was done in the past with labs or demos that showcased capabilities.

There's much less video content now; it's more marketing content than technical content, which is not ideal for an end user.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Office 365 since 2014.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The setup process for Office 365 is simple; it's definitely simple.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability for Office 365 is around a seven or eight.

It could be more stable, especially when doing co-authoring; applications may freeze or changes may not get reflected quickly enough on the remote end.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability for Office 365 rates as an eight or nine; it's pretty much up there.

I can use Office 365 for businesses with over 2,000 users as well as for businesses with only five users, so the experience is consistent across the board.

How are customer service and support?

I've rated Microsoft technical support a seven; they don't necessarily get all the answers, but they do refer when answers are not available.

The quality of support remains at a seven.

What other advice do I have?

I'm working with VMware solutions that haven't really changed from what I was making use of previously, so it's still pretty much the same thing. I'm also looking to get more in depth with Nutanix and its solution, majorly from a price comparison perspective.

I'm using a Cloud-based deployment model for Office 365.

I'd rate the pricing for Microsoft as a five.

I'm not using any AI integration with Office 365 at the moment.

I think Microsoft does a very good job with integration compared to other vendors, although I don't use their products as much as others, and I acknowledge that Google is improving on their identity security.

Overall, I'd give Office 365 a mark of eight.

My main use case for Office 365 is for emails and collaboration.

What is most valuable?

The features I have found most valuable in Office 365 are Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams, which are the mostly commonly used products in my organization.

I am satisfied with Office 365 integration capabilities.

What needs improvement?

Based on my experience, I would improve the desktop client of Office 365, particularly because we had a scenario recently where we were unable to group the emails by using the email addresses in Microsoft Outlook desktop application.

The main concern is about grouping of email addresses.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Office 365 for around four to five years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The initial setup process for Office 365 is not complex; it is straightforward.

I am working with both the hybrid model implementation and the cloud-only model for Office 365.

What is our primary use case?

Excel and PowerPoint are part of Office 365, which I constantly use.

I have been working with Excel and PowerPoint for the last three years or so, since my studies started, while simultaneously working as a working student or as an intern, using them permanently during my lectures.

What is most valuable?

The ChatGPT add-in that is accessible now for Excel is one of the most helpful features of Office 365 because it gives you the opportunity to process a lot of data in a really short time.

I use the ChatGPT add-in to process a lot of data quickly within Excel.

I have the ChatGPT add-in directly in Excel. I used the API in my previous position as a working student in a company that had a lot of data to be processed, and I was working with the ChatGPT add-in to process it correctly.

What needs improvement?

The user interface of PowerPoint could be improved in future updates to make it easier to find features via search, because sometimes it's difficult to locate certain applications as the buttons are too small.

Regarding Excel processing a lot of data, I'm currently working with an Excel sheet that has approximately 10,000 lines, and I really see it struggling to process due to the many functions it contains, leading to downtime and loading problems.

I don't have any experience with the initial setup because Office 365 applications were already pre-installed on all the devices that I was using.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It experiences issues only with high volume and numerous functions in the tables that we're using.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's reasonable because with the Office 365 setup, you have access to a lot of devices and applications, especially when utilizing process automation tools such as Power Automate, making it reasonable in price.

How are customer service and support?

I have never directly contacted Microsoft regarding Office 365 because I didn't really need to, as any issues were just on my side.

I was working in a former position with Hotspots where I used some automation tools to make processes more automated.

I'm currently working with the whole Microsoft setup, which includes tools such as Windows 10, Office 365, and Zoom.

I mainly use Excel and PowerPoint within Office 365.

I did some data analysis while working in strategic procurement of a company and in data management of another company while using Excel and PowerPoint.

I'm currently not working with any advanced features such as automation in Excel or SharePoint workflows, but I was using some automation tools in a former position.

I understand that Excel has to process a lot of data and, especially when working with AI, there could be downtimes.

I would rate Office 365 eight out of ten for its functionalities and features.
