Amazing Northpass
What do you like best about the product?
What i love about Northpass is that we can review or have a refresher on our courses in case we need to check specific courses.
What do you dislike about the product?
None so far. We find Northpass very useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In case that we need to have a refresher on a certain topic. We just need to open Northpass and then we can review certain topics.
Great Integrations
What do you like best about the product?
I'm new to Skilljar and the platform has a ton integrations that can help with making learning much more engaging.
I love the idea of being able to integrate in hands-on lab and integrations. We are starting with low-statkes certification but there are integrations for high-stake when we get there which is fantastic for us when decide to scale later.

Out of the box it is pretty underwhelming but the integrations and customizeablitly is where it helps out

We're building out a Certification program and seeing that Skilljar has a bunch of integrations is super helpful
Comprehensive Learning Management Solution
What do you like best about the product?
When our company began the search for a learning management solution, we wanted to find a platform that was easy to use, customizable and data-rich. Plenty of platforms offered one or the other, but only Northpass could deliver on all three. In the end, it was a no-brainer.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if Northpass could hold our company data. Instead, it can only push data to our other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Over the years, our company struggled to onboard customers in an effective and homogenous manner. With Northpass, we're able to deliver engaging, educational content at precise moments of our customers' journey that speaks to their unique situations and needs. By doing so, we can asynchronously educate our customers and ensure that our live touchpoints are more impactful.
From compliance-based training to conceptual-based training, Northpass does it all
What do you like best about the product?
We wanted a fully customisable learning platform -- both UI and UX. Northpass was able to accommodate all our requirements and specs. Great bunch of people, good with comms and fast turnaround. Out of the box, their learner UX was one of the best compared to other platforms during our initial evaluation. With their Enterprise plan, we could fully customise the learner-views to exactly how we want it, unifying our existing product design system.
What do you dislike about the product?
More robust content versioning would be great -- the ability to see who last edited it, what they changed, (and potentially changelog-type notes). From a content editing perspective, the content and quizzes are separately managed and need to be 'linked' together; it would be more intuitive to have quizzes managed directly in the content editor side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before switching to Northpass, our learning consists purely of compliance-based training. While these are important for us to be security oriented and for our certifications, we lacked the conceptual onboarding. As a non-traditional industry, our company has a steep initial learning curve -- on one estimate, it takes a new employee 6 months to fully understand the ins-and-outs and be confident in their job. We wanted to cut that down and provide the tools they need to be successful in their role. Northpass allows us to create a hands-off learning platform, reducing the repeated 1:1 teaching while allowing the learners to return whenever they need a refresher. From an experience perspective, it gave us the opportunity to focus on 1:1 advanced training rather than bogged down by the basics.
Exceptional Support!
What do you like best about the product?
The upside of Northpass (and honestly, one of the reasons we choose them) is that they had the ability for us to look to the future. With Northpass we will be able to include all employees as well as eventually some external partners. Additionally, working with our Customer Success Manager has been very helpful. Our timeline for implementation and launch was not what they normally would have experienced however, she was very patient and understanding with us. She has always been able to provide additional support and answer any questions we might have (even if we asked it multiple times).
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I could say that I disliked about Northpass had to do with its setup/ ability to upload external courses. We ran into a couple of issues where the file formats were not compatible. Had we known this prior to signing the contracts we might have gone with another content provider. Although this was a very large hiccup our team at Northpass helped us edit the file names and upload almost 3000 courses into our Academy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Northpass offers our employees a valuable resource. We hope to see more managers create learning paths for their departments to help with overall employee growth and of course retention.
Perfect for Getting Started with Asynchronous Customer Education
What do you like best about the product?
Northpass has been the perfect partner in helping us launch a new training format for our customers. They have been highly supportive in tailoring this tool to fit the needs of our industry, helping us meet our goals, and setting the vision for how we can make it even more effective in the future. I cannot speak highly enough of the people we have worked with; from sales to customer success and customer support - everyone has been responsive, understanding, and made us feel like they are committed to our success.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our challenges with Northpass have been minor, mostly in content organization and batch actions. We have seen some of those addressed with features they have added in the last year and are looking forward to what they can do next.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our initial goals with Northpass were to be able to provide a training option for some of our smaller accounts that would free up our consultants to spend more time supporting larger accounts and to provide a resource that has become a standard expectation among our larger accounts. We succeeded in doing both in our first year with Northpass and are now working on how we can use these tools to create new, revenue-generating products in the next two years.
Excellent customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent customer service from our rep, Nergis Tepeli. We meet regularly to talk about how best to use Northpass for our real estate university. She's responsive to our needs and very easy to work with. We've been able to ask for and get custom solutions, one in particular that will be great for other Northpass customers: linked, pop-up glossary.
What do you dislike about the product?
Northpass isn't able to perform the way we want/need in a few situations. For example, I want to be able to replicate a learner's exact experience by accessing their account on the back end as an administrative impersonator, but that's not available in Northpass. Also, Northpass is not intuitive to use. I have to poke around to find what I'm looking for (reports, specific data, etc.), which is inefficient and frustrating. Fortunately, we have Nergis to ask, but I'd rather the UI work better. Also, Northpass needs more options for learner interactions. For example, hot spots would be awesome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are an education company, so Northpass as an LMS is the at the heart of what we do.
Skilljar platform overview
What do you like best about the product?
The people that work at Skilljar are phenomenal. They are very willing to work with you to accomplish your business needs. They are always willing to create custom solutions for you and to put some of your requests in their product roadmap.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is easy to learn, but if you do have a custom setup it becomes a little more complicated. After a couple of proservs, there is quite a bit that needs to be updated in the theme which is HTML and CSS so if you do not have a lot of experience with code, it can become a little more challenging to use the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Skilljar helps us host all of our learning content in one place and online which is what our customer base needs. It also helps us keep multiple sites and domains all in one place.
Skilljar made my work life easier!
What do you like best about the product?
Since switching to Skilljar, we have received great feedback about the user experience. The ability to customize each domain's look and feel is excellent. It allows us to give employees, customers and partners a personalized experience based on the business relationship.
Skilljar has made it easier for students to navigate the training offerings and, in turn, has lowered the number of support tickets students open when it comes to navigating, registering and completing training.
Regarding creating and publishing courses, plans and paths are very easy to learn and understand. Having the many setting options allows us to create one course for all domains while still allowing us to have a specific setting for each domain! This is a great time saver for those courses we need to publish in all our domains!
I also LOVE the training credit option! Using the promo codes did not work very smoothly for our business, no fault of Skilljar, so when the training credits went live, it was like angels came from the skies above and blessed me with extra time in my day! This drastically cut down the number of support tickets regarding promo codes not working for their desired courses. These tickets are practically non-existent now!

I have found several pain points with the platform as an administrator.
Reporting
I have found that the lack of customized reporting has been the biggest issue for our Education and Training department. I would like to see the ability to customize my reports with any of the available data in Skilljar. I know this is in the works and should be an option soon.
Student Event Cancellations
In addition, I would love to see an option to opt-in to receiving student event cancellations. Occasionally, a student cancels their live event registration, and I have no idea until after I have invoiced them for the event. Avoiding unnecessary invoices would be fantastic!

Finally, we have had some issues with students obtaining certificates of completion they did not earn. I typically need to open a case to have the certificate removed; being able to do this myself would be great.

Skilljar has allowed us to give our customers a great user experience that they did not have with our previous vendor. One of the most significant issues we had with our last vendor was the code validation which had to be done manually on our end and caused delays with registration confirmations and even with invoicing. This is no longer an issue with our business since Skilljar can quickly validate the promo codes and training credits with automated registration confirmations. Since switching to Skilljar, most of my daily tasks have become more manageable and less stressful!

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Northpass is the overall functionality and navigation of the tool, the simplicity of course creation, and the communication with your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are aspects of the tool that could use more development to enhance the overall experience for the teachers on the backside.
