Impressive LMS and team of professionals
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use to access, upload, and add content. The site is visually appealing and pops.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting features are a challenge and not easy to run.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many things needed to be customized for our sites. While it has been frustrating at times, the professionals at Northpass have been with us through the entire process and work ectremely hard to meet our needs.
Skilljar as an Internal LMS
What do you like best about the product?
There are a ton of ways to use the system as an internal LMS for your organization. The flexibility in the settings allows for a great deal of creativity.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard layout is not very intuitive and takes some time to learn how to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New hire onboarding, company-wide trainings
Effective LMS for video training.
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to have both an employee and client-facing domain. Ease of use. Excellent with video training.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it had a dashboard that informed learners which courses they had complete and which ones they had enrolled in. Also wish there was some dropbox or assignment functionality for the learner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have created a centralized place for all learning content. We even provide launchpads to other learning systems from our Academy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Skilljar primarily is customer or client-focused but it works just as well with internal employees.
Exceptional customer service
What do you like best about the product?
No matter how sophisticated the application, you're bound to use a help center or customer support from time to time. Typically, these resources are hit-and-miss since help articles are not usually relevant to a particular issue, or there is a delay in getting an in-person response. Northpass was a different experience. Their help center was helpful (surprise), and when I needed to message their support team, I consistently received prompt, in-depth responses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although there are regular updates and design improvements, there are still a few elements that are not very intuitive. For example, new admins arrive at an empty workspace and need to find a very small "back to admin" link to get to the account course list (rather than that being the default).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having an LMS saves our training team from needing to schedule, reschedule, remind, or confirm virtual training sessions. With an in-depth analytics dashboard, we have the relevant data at hand to quickly identify areas of course/quiz improvement.
Comprehensive LMS solution
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is easy to use and intuitive. It's packed with features that make it a comprehensive, enterprise-ready solution for training and onboarding needs. The support team is really responsive and patient. I also love the regular updates to the product. Northpass consistently introduces new and valuable features.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features like the text editor that are still a bit rough around the edges. The user management features are not as extensive as I would like but hopefully these get integrated into the product eventually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used to deliver consistent and high-quality training to both employees and customers.
Great value for the cost
What do you like best about the product?
We use the most basic version of Northpass and have found it to be great value for the relatively low cost. It was one of the most affordable options we looked at that had a Salesforce integration. We have found it to be relatively user-friendly on the development side and super simple for learners to use. It also has some good integrations that we've made use of (e.g. Typeform). Their customer service is pretty good, and we've appreciated being able to get fairly immediate assistance whenever we need it. It seems like they are continuously improving the platform, which is positive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the issues we have with it are partially due to having the most basic plan. Some of our users have had issues with the way the learner dashboard is laid out (search functions are limited, and it's easy to miss courses if they aren't familiar with using the filters). We have also had to create some workaround solutions for the ways some of our courses work. Basically, if you have courses that require individualized feedback and homework submission (rather than quizzes with a straightforward set of multiple choice answers), Northpass is a little limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previous hosting service for courses was super outdated and clunky, so Northpass is WAY better. We also have made a ton of use of Northpass during the pandemic. It has made content delivery for our workforce much simpler and more streamlined; we previously would have shared documents over email or a shared folder, so Northpass gives us the ability to track completion and create a much more professionalized learning experience.
Feature rich platform that helps meet our business and learner outcomes
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is just so easy to use and very customisable. I'm able to set up Skilljar to match our digital education strategy, rather than the other way around. They're very innovative and constantly look for ways to delight their customers. Skilljar partners with their customers to help them meet their business and learner outcomes. I always feel supported by Skilljar as a business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Skilljar help centre can be tricky to navigate if you're trying to come up with a new workflow for your learners, and need information to help you get there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a global company, with our own people, our distributors and retailers, and end-user customers to train. Skilljar offers a multi-level platform which has allowed us to offer both on-demand and live training events. We needed a platform flexible enough to allow local marketing teams to offer their own customised training, without affecting other marketing teams, in other parts of the world. With Skilljar we can put digital education in the hands, and in the language of our learners.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want an eLearning platform that's both easy to use, and customisable, I recommend Skilljar. I was able to go to beta testing in less than a month after starting work with Skilljar and we launched shortly after. We customised the platform for branding, translation workflows and our own training strategy. Any business that can get me to beta in less than a month, and make it painless deserves 10/10!
North Pass is fantastic!
What do you like best about the product?
The team are very supportive and easily accessible for help. The UI + UX are great and so easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no strong opinions, although the analytics could be improved to be more customizable and visually it's hard to interpret with only a small selection of rows for each page of the table
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving a problem around customer education. We will now be able to share endless amounts of self serve content to our customers at scale!
The one that allowed us to launch new customer education initatives
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to get started and start creating content. It's all pretty straightforward and allows us to have a lot of flexibility. We launched two programs, one a free academy and the other a certification that requires a purchase along with our products. We were able to go from signed contract to launch of the Academy in about 4 months and launch of the certification in 6 months.
Beyond the ease of use, I have enjoyed working with the various individuals at SKilljar. They have been helpful and responsive. I also appreciate that I can see the changes and developments the team has been making, some of which ties to ideas and features that I've requested (I'm sure those things were in the works anyway).
In addition to making a stable platform that has been easy to use, easy to train on, they provide a lot of helpful content. They have good examples, and if you can't find something, asking will usually result in someone from the team providing an example, code snippet, or something else to help move you forward.

What do you dislike about the product?
Like all platforms, there are things that could be better. A lot of my dislikes, and there really aren't many, come in the moment of a specific need and usually odd circumstances - for instance, cloning a set of courses to use on a different domain is a pretty rare thing, and while it wasn't hard, it was time-consuming without a bulk clone or publish option.
Overall, I really like what Skilljar has done, and like the progress they make in smoothing out some of the rough edges over the last couple years.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving two problems 1) providing access to materials in course form to people who are pre or post-purchase. We not only want to have them view videos but give them other resources. Skilljar has enabled us to do this and to help us understand the user behaviors. 2) with our certification program, we are using Skilljar to provide another platform to help instruct current users, to build their confidence, and increase their knowledge and use of the product. By putting this in a course format we can structure the materials beyond just a tutorial, and work through projects, provide resources files, and help them go from start to finish in learning the products.
Both help us attract and retain customers.

Northpass
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which I can create the different modules.
What do you dislike about the product?
Northpass is the first LMS I use as I am new to my role; however, I do not feel that I am missing anything major.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved the problem of organization and engagement. The newhires are much more engaged with training now and Northpass also serves as an excellent host for additional source material.
