Excellent LMS, easy to use, amazing customer service!

  • January 08, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Skilljar for our external LMS and love its ease of use and feature set. The reporting is easy and allows me to track KPIs for performance and revenue easily. We sell single-purchase course content and subscription-based use and Skilljar makes it easy to offer both options to clients. The absolute best thing about Skilljar is the customer service. I love that we are supported by our CSM and have the opportunity to meet with her monthly. The Quarterly Business Review data is also extremely beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Skilljar is a purpose-built external LMS, but we also require an internal LMS with standard integrations with things like ADP and Microsoft Teams - these additions would be amazing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Offering a branded, self-service portal where clients can register and purchase training. Having training at the client's fingertips helps us to keep Support cases down. In 2021 we expanded our content, increased Marketing efforts, rebranded our Skilljar domains, and increased revenue by 38% over 2020.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have reviewed other LMSs and Skilljar is my favorite for customer education. We have roughly 10,000 active students per year and everyone seems happy with their experience!

Training Platform that Excels in Customer Focus

  • January 07, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With a simple interface for setting up training workflows and paths, this LMS does not require rocket science to implement but also has enough depth in its tools to look industry-leading if you put the work in.

The salesforce connection is the simplest we found on the market during our initial search for a new LMS and continues to provide invaluable data to us. The SSO connection externally and internally was also relatively easy to set up and implement.

A growing company with much promise, they are the best at customer and third-party training while also reasonably priced.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any SaaS company, SkillJar puts out MVP features, and sometimes they do 75-80% of what you want the new tool to do, and you are left needing that one extra bit of feature that would make your life waaay easier. The updates come, eventually.

Quizzes on the Skilljar platform itself could have more nuance than 1 or 0, the weighting of manually graded answers or getting 3/4 for partial credit would be nice to have, but that is a complaint mostly leveled at our internal use of Skilljar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our product takes time to master both internally and externally, which means many courses and many layers of content that need to be fleshed out. The more they know, the more likely they are to stay with us in the long run.

Skilljar has given us the ability to track our customer's journey during their onboarding process so we can, with certainty, know where they are at various levels. A customer trained well is a customer retained.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Any LMS will take time to set up and use successfully, so ensure you have time set aside daily/weekly to invest in this project

Skilljar satisfied needs of both our internal as well as external customers

  • January 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar can service multiple domains and share content across all. We can educate our customers as well as our employees with the same system and share assets and courses across domains.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to schedule live events for the same course across multiple days without needing to create separate events for each day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company lacked a proper LMS system and CMS system. Skilljar filled both needs. We also needed a way to charge global customers in various currencies for external classes and not have that experience by our internal customers. We could also use groups to set different access levels to different courses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We had a lot of internal knowledge of software and we were able to customize the platform appearance to meet our needs mostly. The company is small enough to work with customers each quarter and take and implement customer requests.

Skilljar Review

  • January 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar provides a great way to deliver training and resources to our internal stakeholders, as well as our external customers. The UX is also clean and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface could use a little tweaking to improve horizontal scrolling; for example, there are instances where the headers are cut off, and you need to scroll horizontally to read them thoroughly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Providing training videos and resources across departments internally, so we don't need to do in-person training.
2. Provide customer training on new products/features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Customize your content as much as possible because the platform is excellent at supporting custom training content.

Ideal LMS Platform for Building User-friendly Customer Education Programs

  • January 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you're building a Customer Education program, the most important factor is the end-user experience as a learner. You can create the best eLearning content, but if your users can't figure out how to navigate your site and consume the right content, your program will never be as successful as it could be. So choose your LMS platform wisely!

Skilljar has the most intuitive and user-friendly LMS UI on the market today. For our B2B SaaS business, it's given us the ability to effectively scale our customer onboarding program for several years while creating an enjoyable and effective learning experience for our customer base. Our learners span the tech aptitude spectrum from tech-savvy to tech-averse, yet the consistent feedback from all users is that the learner experience is "easy" and "intuitive" to follow. Our certification program has been the digital touch cornerstone of our Customer Education program for over 6 years! Our course completion rates are consistently over 60% QoQ, when the industry average is ~15%.

It was also important to find an LMS that was easy to customize and skin. We wanted it to match the brand and style of our other web properties, especially our web application. Skilljar's Theming feature makes it easy to create a seamless user experience. Some of the biggest fans of our Customer Education program are our Implementation Managers because they get to have more consultative and advanced product training conversations with their clients instead of having to spend the bulk of their time covering basic product functionality, which is now covered by our on-demand, certification courses where we serve training videos and interactive SCORM modules.

Skilljar also has a robust open API and a lot of built-in integrations that we've set up over the years.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they offered more granular user permissions in their dashboard, specifically for course analytics. I want to create automated custom reports for tracking key program success metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis based on tags or other metadata (e.g., language, geo location, etc.). But, I know it's not a matter of "if" but "when" regarding product enhancements. They've delivered on several product changes over the years based on feedback we've shared with them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scalability and Biz Ops efficiency. The best way to strategically improve product adoption is with effective product training. And if you want to effectively scale your Customer Success team, one of the best things you can do is launch a Customer Education program that you can leverage as a digital touch, on-demand training offering. It's also helped us avoid burnout from our Implementation team because they don't have to spend so much of their valuable time with clients performing the same basic product training sessions over and over.

Great LMS solution that offers scalability and customization

  • January 03, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Northpass offers excellent support from onboarding to implementation. This easy-to-use platform provides the flexibility to customize the learning programs by department and employee/independent contractor-type. It enhances our in-field training by offering on-demand learning and valuable information to support continued growth. To date, we have over 600 delivery pros per month for ongoing education and improved customer satisfaction. To date, we have onboarded 4,200 learners that are actively using Northpass for certifications, best practices, and SOPs.
What do you dislike about the product?
We want the ability for the learner to navigate from incomplete modules easily and to access more courses via a dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Northpass provides an incredible opportunity to enhance our organization’s learning system and improve customer and partner support. Our team recognized the need to extend on-demand learning to include all areas of the organization by building a fully, customized & branded academy.

UX Design and platform stability were important when choosing Skilljar.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of gamification and incentivizing for client-facing training and education.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By implementing this LMS we have been able to make plans for 2022 to be more scalable in terms of training out client base and new clients moving forward.

A Fantastic Platform and Excellent Customer Service

  • December 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
First: The platform! It's intuitive, and easy to use and skilljar academy makes it super easy to figure out how to do something if you're stuck. Second, the Customer Service is stellar. Alex Calvert and Garrett George did a stellar job onboarding our team and handling our insane feature requests and issues. Kudos to the entire team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quiz feature needs work. While some of our feature requests were implemented (question banks) - they are not quite there yet. You must create new quizzes in order to use the feature. I'd like to use exisiting quizzes, create topics and move those quiz questions into those bank topics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently solving issues related to subscription plans - your team is working with us to do so. The benefits are that your engineers work closely with ours to solve issues as they come up and incorporate them into skilljar's platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend Skilljar to other corporations looking for a learning management/customer education platform. Their customer service is outstanding and the platform is great.

Intuitive platform, great support

  • December 14, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Northpass is an easy-to-use platform for creating, distributing, and monitoring training. With countless design, integration, and analytic tools, Northpass is irrefutably a leader in the LMS space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some analytic tools are challenging to use if you aren't familiar with them.
Pushing updates to courses is confusing because of the way it intertwines with learner progress. However, Northpass has stated plans to improve this process in 2022.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to abandon traditional pen and paper training and shift to an online platform. Northpass excels because of its user-friendly interface and setup; it is one of the only LMS that less tech-savvy employees won't have a problem using. Because of the ease of use, our training compliance is much higher than before we started using Northpass.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have your training content ready to implement before signing the contract. You will need time to put your courses together in Northpass, and you can't do that until you're paying for the service. Having your training content ready means you can get to using Northpass ASAP, rather than paying for the service while you build out your course material.

Excellent reliable, uncluttered, and learner centric LMS

  • December 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Northpass is an LMS with the learner experience front and center. Their UI principles lead to a clean and focused learner experience that removes the typical distractions of finding and beginning courses in an LMS. They have over the years made significant investments into the admin experience and platform integrations which have helped it grow into areas where other established players would have had a leg up. Their customer success management approach is excellent and one that I routinely use as the bar with other software vendors we utilize. Platform reliability and performance have been excellent, and when there are issues, they tend to prioritize the learner's experience over admins, which I appreciate. We have utilized Northpass for almost six years and have always had a great experience working with their team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their enterprise integrations can be lacking, and learner management can be clunky depending on the demands of your business and the size of your learner community. I would like to see a richer integration with Salesforce and more flexible authentication options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an LMS to support a large catalog of courses with very different audiences per course. Knowing that we were prescribing the courses to our user base, we also needed an LMS that did not create any unneeded friction when getting to relevant coursework, which is where their UI strategy comes into play. Platform reliability, as well as learner experience performance, have been the biggest benefits.
