Instrumental for integrating services
What do you like best about the product?
Mule ESB is lightweight and fast. It's simple to conceive a flow using the Anypoint Studio IDE. It's also easy to deploy a SOAP or REST (RAML support on Anypoint platform is very useful) based service.
A lot of free connectors are available (Twitter, Google, GitHub, Dropbox and so on).
Provides a lot of out of the box modules to implement modern enterprise integration patterns like messaging, file transfer, database poll, web service proxy, validator, bridge, message routing and so on.
Mule ESB core engine relies heavily on Spring Framework, hence it works well with user-defined Spring components.
First class support of JMS is appreciated.
Overall community support is great. Mule ESB core is Open Source (https://github.com/mulesoft/mule).
Flows testability has improved, especially since the new MUnit module has been released. You can now test Mule ESB flows directly using XML.
Mule ESB is stable in production and is easy to monitor with JMX.
Anypoint platform is evolving and Mule ESB documentation is getting better.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some features (DataWeave, Batch module, Management Console, Clustering) are only available with the Enterprise version.
Mule ESB lacks of documentation when it comes to create a custom connector.
No support (graphic representation of flows) when using other IDE (IntelliJ Idea).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating services together. Transforming data between services. Pulling data from different sources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you plan to use advanced features like clustering or advanced data transformations, consider buying a license for the enterprise version of Mule ESB.

What do you dislike about the product?
Few functionalities such as Batch processing, MEL expressions have a learning curve when implementing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use anypoint platform to connect with many systems, both on-premise and cloud based. ESB is used as the middleware between front end and downstream layer. Also used for batch file processing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do complete an initial training given by Mulesoft. Also, it would help to follow forums so as to be helpful for the platform betterment.
Great extension of Eclipse for application integration (specific to MuleSoft)
What do you like best about the product?
Some may not appreciate the EIP UI representation used for XML file generation but it is extremely helpful when developing connections to different systems. The UI allows for a graphical representation or equivalent of an Maven Archetype providing assistance for the integration developer when attempting to create code in parallel with application design. Additionally, the ability to debug integration code uncovers previously opaque methods of data transformation and delivery. The debug feature puts this tool on top of the stack of other integration IDEs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the Anypoint development team in their haste to provide the best, cutting-edge products produce releases too quickly. A more rigorous QA process could improve the features being released. Also, allowing for features that are being replaced to be phased out without causing additional work by the consultant or customer development group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating stable middleware applications for enterprise software. Benefits have been the large improvement over legacy tools that are not keeping up on the technology front or the new tools that are not up to par.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at other products debugging features. They don't stack up to this product.

What do you dislike about the product?
To deploy our project we must trigger manually, even using MMC. I am still not found how to scehdule our deploy, like integrated with CI Jenkins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my current project , there is a lot of requirement to integrated with another platform, such as eWay, CMS Sitefinity, Email, Twilio, CRM, Healthlink, Medicare, etc.
and our benefit is we can build all the connection just using Mulesoft anypoint platform.

MuleSoft Anypoint Platform Rivals Competitors
What do you like best about the product?
Some vendors claim to have over 800 connectors. However, it may take many connectors to accomplish the same thing MuleSoft Anypoint Platform accomplishes in a single connector. The Anypoint platform is easy to use and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there is very little not to like about the Anypoint platform. Since I must come up with something for this survey, I suppose I would say that the Mule Expressoin Language (MEL) has a learning curve, but the excellent free training and documentation allows you to be productive quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company just started using MuleSoft and we're excited to get started! We have many point-to-point connections, caused by many years of development without thinking about the long-term architecture. In order to continue to grow the business, we must unwind the mess.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend taking the MuleSoft Developer Essentials training on Mule University. It's free and covers most of the functionality required to get started with integrations and API's quickly.
