Megaport: Effortless Connectivity with Lightning-Fast Setup
What do you like best about the product?
I am incredibly impressed with Megaport's fast activation time and its overall service reliability. When we added an additional carrier using the Megaport service, I was thrilled at how quickly and smoothly everything was set up. The ease of use of the Megaport portal is remarkable—it's the simplest and most intuitive system I've ever used. I appreciate how quickly we can connect to new parties using the network, often within minutes, as long as they are already physically connected to the Megaport network. It's very straightforward and easy to navigate, especially when compared to other Ethernet carriers we deal with. The initial setup of Megaport was seamless, a perfect 10 out of 10 experience, and I would highly recommend it to others.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the need for the portal's usage graphs to be updated live in real-time. It would enhance my ability to monitor network activity more effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Megaport accelerates the connection setup with new carriers, impressing us with its turn-up speed and providing a user-friendly portal for efficient management.

Super simple to use. And more importantly if you have a question, the team is fast to respond.

The service isn't free. Why can't this be free?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We just did an account review, and looked at the new services that megaport offers like Megaport ISP. Savings in our pocket.

Availability in most regions, Flexibility and easy to configure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Megaport is not available in South Africa. South32 is unable to pay monthly with credit card and use a purchase order system, this caused a few challenges because the PO system was not fully supported by Megaport and monthly invoices could not follow South32 process for submission and payment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud onramp, Virtual SD-WAN routers and global backbone.
User portal is very easy to use and configuration is a breeze
What do you like best about the product?
User portal interface is very easy to navigate and use. It is very intuitive. The dashboard gives you a quick overview of what is up and connected.
Deployment of services is very quick and simple with a few clicks.

What do you dislike about the product?
Cant export the looking glass info to excel rather than copy paste. Not able to set alerting on individual services rather than global.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being the gateway service that connects all our clouds together rather than having to individually haul physical data service from each cloud provider.
Services can be spun up and connected to the "fabric" within mins when we need it.
Meaning that we can be very agile and flexible in the way that we manage our network.

My experience with Megaport has been very positive so far.
What do you like best about the product?
The support is great and the account manager has been really helpful as well. It was really good to see that we can order cross-connect directly from the portal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need better flexibility with managing users. 1) Unable to just activate the deactivated users. 2) Unable to enable MFA only for privileged access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Megaport to connect to multiple cloud providers that provides high resiliency.
User-Friendly Portal with Excellent Service Management
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use of the portal. It is highly convenient to navigate, turn up/down the services and get specific details about your ISP circuits or cloud connections. A great set of offerings.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little more troubleshooting tools for the customer would be great so that we can self-serve our needs instead of pinging or calling Megaport support.

Making it easy for us to extend our current network to cloud.
Seamless Onboarding and Blazing Fast Provisioning with Megaport
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Megaport offers a seamless onboarding and sales process, making it incredibly fast and efficient to get direct access to a marketplace for our needs. The speed at which new connections can be automatically provisioned is remarkable, often completing in minutes, which is a game changer compared to other carriers where such processes could take up to ninety to one hundred and twenty days. This speed and efficiency extend to their portal, which allows for self-service with intuitive operations, removing the need for prolonged interactions with sales reps and reducing the back-and-forth often required with other providers. Additionally, I appreciate how responsive the Megaport team is, always ready to jump on a call at a moment’s notice to provide support and answer questions. The flexibility of the Megaport platform is also significant, as it provides capabilities such as direct connectivity to major cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, which enhances our creativity and flexibility for offering services to our clients. Even when not immediately needed, Megaport ensures that we have future scalability options, enabling us to remain competitive by provisioning services on demand without requiring significant rearchitecture or prolonged negotiations. The dual option of handling things independently through the portal or engaging in direct interaction with their team strikes a perfect balance, allowing us the best of both worlds.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Megaport just had more capacity. Specifically, at the site we're using, 100 gig ports were not available. Although we're not using that much bandwidth currently, having the option to upgrade would be preferable. Being in a small data center with a limited market makes it harder for Megaport to justify adding this capacity. Choosing a more popular site might have averted this issue.

I use Megaport to obtain necessary Internet bandwidth for our new network and enjoy direct cloud connectivity, enhancing our flexibility and service offerings, all with the ease of self-service for quick provisioning.

It just works like day one.

It is not a Megaport issue, but the datacenters.
Sometimes getting a cross-connect done within the Megaport demarcation is a painful process, but this is due to the datacenters, not Megaport itself.

What do you like best about the product?
Absolutely outstanding reliability, an excellent management portal, and a solid set of features make this product stand out.
What do you dislike about the product?
Up to now, I haven't encountered any drawbacks, so I have nothing to complain about.

We rely on Megaport to deliver robust, high-bandwidth connectivity between our data center and Azure through Azure ExpressRoute. This setup ensures both high availability and reliable performance for our operations.
