My Main Work Software
What do you like best about the product?
I am linked with geographic and territorial activities, therefore the use of ArcGis in my work and studies is essential. This program has helped me in the visualization, management, editing, calculation, analysis of georeferenced entities and attributes in my daily life.
Another aspect I like about ArcGis is the use of ArcCatalog, which allows searching and performing operations in a pleasant way, enabling direct connections with database servers, GIS servers, databases, WMS servers, and its connection with groups of information available on the Internet and intranet.

What do you dislike about the product?
In general, I like the program a lot and I have been using it for more than 12 years. However, this program increasingly demands higher requirements from the computer where it is installed, for the graphical part to function optimally, which can cause delays when working with a significant number of entities displayed in Arc Map.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I solve with ArcGIS are reflected in my daily work. I always receive requests from supervisors, clients, study partners, and colleagues for different types of geographic information that is cleaned, georeferenced, analyzed, and in its cartographic output format. Therefore, to be able to perform all these operations, it is necessary to use ArcGIS to efficiently manipulate entities with their attributes linked to the requirements of others or my own.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend to the community linked to spatial-geographic topics, the use of ArcGIS as a GIS management and administration program. It has various tools and applications to innovate and grow in this community. Additionally, ArcGIS is a leading program in its field.

The best GIS tool
What do you like best about the product?
I have many years using ArcGis, it is a fundamental tool for my work. I have had the opportunity to try other GIS software, and I have found that ArcGis is really powerful. I find it easy to use, it has a user-friendly interface and a wide range of geoprocessing tools available. I also like that it offers several options to reach the same result, allowing you to choose the best one according to the circumstances, and moreover, the cartographic output is incomparable.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the disadvantages of the software is its high costs. On the other hand, it requires a powerful computer to execute tasks quickly. In the thematic cartography section, I have always been displeased with the limited options when we want to create graphs to represent variables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my role as a geography professional, I have used ArcGis for the regionalization of the territory, the analysis of the regional urban system of different territorial areas, and the construction of topographic and thematic cartography for territorial diagnosis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The first thing is that if you plan to use ArcGis, you should have a good computer, specifically with good RAM capacity. This will ensure that the program runs properly. Otherwise, it will be unbearable to process information. I recommend this software for its large number of tools, I believe it is unmatched by any other GIS software.
Great tool for spatial analysis and many other purposes
What do you like best about the product?
We use ArcGIS for working with maps and geographic data. I cannot say it's very easy to use, but when you get hang of it, it is very useful and make a big difference in research. The possibility of superimposing data, using different data sources, its capability to be used in different filed, even in social sciences, is great. I usually use it to map archaeological and cultural data, and to run several analysis. It is fast and the best thing about it is that the products of research is visual and understandable to different groups of people.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the undo option when I am working with it. Sometime when you use undo you'd lose data. Also sometime for some reason that I haven't figured out yet, I lose some of my processes and have to do them again.
Also, it is very expensive! Since I am working for a university we can use it there, but if I am not affiliated with somewhere that doesn't have the program, it is too expensive to purchase it.

Assessing cultural heritage, archaeological sites, impact of natural and environmental factors on different areas, mapping archaeological and cultural resources. The benefit is that we can easily share the results with other experts and also we can use other researches in our own research. It is a harmonious way to share knowledge.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great program for different types of data mapping, analysis and spatial analysis. We all need to give it a try in this advancing world of research.
ArcGIS: The best ally for creating cartography and geographic analysis
What do you like best about the product?
The most representative feature of ArcGIS is its ability to support a large amount of information with high processing speed, allowing the generation of thematic maps of great value, which are accompanied by complete and manageable databases for any professional. On the other hand, the tools that ArcGIS possesses are unique in terms of ease of use and reliability in the results. Additionally, the support for satellite images in this software is excellent, as it allows the combination of bands in a practical and user-friendly way, which increases productivity and efficiency. The design of cartography is very easy to learn and use, with a wide range of colors, shapes, graphics, and figures, and the ability to save symbol palettes and structures is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
The license for this program is a bit expensive, it is its biggest disadvantage, but in reality, in terms of its functionality, it is worth what it costs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ArcGIS has allowed me to generate user-friendly and understandable thematic cartography for any professional, and it has also facilitated the analysis of satellite images, especially to generate updates on land use for any territory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend this software in its entirety, as it is a super powerful, creative, friendly, and enriching tool for any professional, as it will allow them to depict the territory in a graphical and understandable way through the behavior of any variable that needs to be studied or known.
ArcGIS
What do you like best about the product?
ArcGIS has numerous features, which allows the user to create any type of map. Maps can vary from very simplistic to very complicated. There are a lot of customization options which allows the user to be creative in terms of visuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface isn't very user-friendly and requires a lot of time researching and playing around with the different features to learn to create a map. In addition, there are so many tools and features, it makes it difficult to navigate the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding environmental phenomena and relationships as it relates to space.
An Offline Software that connects seamlessly online
What do you like best about the product?
Arcgis is probabaly best used for its mapping utilities. Specifically, what I enjoyed the best was that heatmaps with specific filters can be made within the software and then (after signing up of course) it can be transferred a work in progress with colleagues around the world. Additionally, these features do not necessarily need the offline software to work. If you are strapped for time and need to maleness a quick presentation the go like I did, ESRI allows for an online Arcgis tool. It started off as barebones but now it is fully robust and approaching maturation.
What do you dislike about the product?
My major gripe about ArcGIS would be the dependency when a file needs to be saved. To elaborate, when saving a project that’s is a work in progress m, arcmap saves your progress into different directory trees. These trees need to be saved on a flash drive in the exact same order if you want them to work flawlessly on another computer. This makes saving work so that you can work from the office or home a bad experience. There is a solution, which is to upload it to their cloud but for hose of us who don’t want to remembers another password we are stuck with meticulous saving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ArcGIS for my company is used mostly for fluid mapping. Specifically, we map particulate matter 2.5 to ensure that concentrations in the industrial sector do not reach a public hazard level. If it’s does, we deploy a patented filter to industries to help them mitigate their problems.
Some benefits are that the map making process for these purposes are extremely simple even to a beginner. Mostly because the map is only as good and it’s data and arcgis handles raw excel data very well when needing to interpret it into a visual aid.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
In order to ensure the best migration to GIS, it is best that you have lots and lots of data. While this software comes packed with globally shared sensor data and overlays, it sometimes isn’t the best if you don’t have all the data causing the software to under-perform to your needs
Amazing product
What do you like best about the product?
From students to professionals it is a very versatile software with all of it's different applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price of a single license for this software is through the roof, but that's because it's the best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for map making and data integration. It allows you to integrate many different data sets into one.
NOt good for replication
What do you like best about the product?
Maps created are good looking, and easy to create once .shp files are loaded
What do you dislike about the product?
The process cannot be automatized easily. In theory, it could’ve written in python, but there is no user friendly way of saving your steps to do a map over again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Map making using georeferenced data
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don’t use if you will need to replicate often
It's the best GIS software

You need to do a massive number of training to help your staff masters it
The best option for using a GIS
What do you like best about the product?
We are faced with the most comprehensive Geographic Information System on the market, just by displaying the tool menu we realize that we have more than 40 options to process geographic data of any type (raster, shapefile, cad, among others), in addition to all the tools for data transformation, spatial adjustment, raster image statistics, altitude modeling through digital elevation models, all complemented with numerous extensions that allow focusing on particular topics, such as the processing of statistical information for spatial purposes, geodesign, or three-dimensional modeling. Simply put, ArcGIS is the best GIS.
What do you dislike about the product?
ArcGIS is an extremely expensive software, which limits the possibilities for many people to use it as a common work tool. This cost limitation directly affects where the software is implemented, as it is large companies or public institutions that have the capacity to pay for it. A small or medium-sized company, or a group of entrepreneurs, would not be able to acquire the software, thus limiting the ability to use this incredible tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ArcGIS has contributed to improving the levels of service in our company, as we know the origin of the people, which has allowed us to expand our market to places where the largest number of buyers come from and make the opportunity to obtain their preferred book more pleasant and closer. All of this has been done by cross-referencing spatial data with administrative records, which together help to better understand the relationship between the company and the consumer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
