PhishER has helped our organization identify & remove malicious emails before they become a problem
What do you like best about the product?
It has the ability to learn through the emails submitted to identify and remove malicious content.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer a quarantine location other than a folder within the user's email account. I want the freedom to choose that location.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Phish RIP provides the ability to remove malicious emails and quarantine them.
A good tool to allow your users to be the first line of defense
What do you like best about the product?
The system’s use of AI, mixed with Keywords and rule-based definitions to allow our users to report suspicious, or obvious threats has been a great help. This allows the IT team to focus on other tasks. Integration of VirusTotal to scan reported attachments to aid in the determination of threat mailboxes is definately a plus. Combined with the ability to easily query all mailboxes and know if a particular message has been opened and what folder it was located, Quarntine it, then if needed delete all copies has been a lifesaver already.
What do you dislike about the product?
PhishER can be A bit tedious to configure, the rules need to be written in yara which can be annoying. However, there are some useful online groups that can provide basic guides and rule templates. The reporting button has some random non-functioning issues (usually .net related) and educating your users on what should be reported and what shouldn’t. All of these are minor and are part of the pain of adopting such a platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PhishER allows our users to actively assist with the protection of our corporate mail system, it has greatly simplified the process of identifying and dealing with email threats.
PhishER : SOAR for Phishing
What do you like best about the product?
PhishER applies AI/ML to the phishing process. It greatly reduces the amount of security analyst time needed, then allows us to remove similar phishing emails from any company accounts (PhishRIP)... this is the solution that phishing has needed for years. The ability to setup custom rules for managing phishing emails is great too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The workflow is not as intuitive as it could be, so analysts really need to take PhishER training before working with it. Having said that, KnowBe4 makes that available weekly for free. The other thing is that you have to open a new tab to go to PhishER (i.e., it is not bundled into the 'normal' KnowBe4 console except via a link), but this is a minimal hassle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phishing continues to be one of the biggest risks to enterprise security, and PhishER is a tremendous advantage for security teams tackling the issue. It has drasticaly cut down the time to research and react to suspected phishing emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are concerned about responding to user identified phishing emails I cannot think of a better investment.

What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard has all the information you need on it. You can also create custom rules for inbound messages. It has a powerful search "query" within the inbox, and the integration with PAB is flawless!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the query aspect could be automated for quarantining messages based on system or custom rules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to quarantine several emails from one query automatically has saved a lot of time.

What do you like best about the product?
We can run phishing campaigns and catch threat emails before they do any damage. Also quarantining feature is nice; it really removes part for human error. The tool ingests the emails sent to the PhishER and organizes the info for review.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, to be honest; it is a great tool all in all.

We are trying to resolve any room for human error; of course, we need the team members to report the emails to know a phish email was sent.
Benefits are the fact that we can quarantine an email that is a phish and let's say it was sent to a lot of team members, it is beneficial to be able to remove it from their inbox before team members get a chance to interact with it.

Excellent Application for Security Management and Training
What do you like best about the product?
PhishER is an extremely useful tool for our overall cybersecurity defence in our organization. The button is very easy to use from an end-user perspective and allows a simple, yet effective way to report spam and malicious emails to IT. It has the added bonus of allowing users to "play their part" in ensuring the safety of our organization. Further, the integrations with PhishRIP and PhishFlip allow our IT administrators the ability to easily examine, quarantine, and remediate issues raised through PhishER.
What do you dislike about the product?
From an administrator's end, there can be improvements on the organization and review of reported spam/malicious emails. The application has a lot of options for automating reviews, however, it does require some trial and error on setting up the rules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization wanted to streamline the reporting of SPAM and malicious emails in a way that would not burden our IT administrator, or, make the process too onerous on the end-user. PhishER addressed both issues for us. Further, it continues to provide a central plank in our awareness training by allowing internal campaigns linked to training materials. Implementing the application has helped us triage and remediate risks and has raised our security and awareness training to a higher level for all members of our organization.

End users tend to overuse the product causing extra work for IT staff

Makes users think before clicking on an email.

Plan your implementation and ensure users are trained properly

What do you like best about the product?
MS 365 integration with email analysis and reporting is a substantial benefit. The user interface is very professional and responsive. The support we receive from KnowBe4 is unmatched. Their self-service knowledge base actively tracks support issues and offers suggestions. Support agents follow up to make sure all our problems are resolved (mostly just going up the learning curve).
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't run into any significant downsides yet, other than going up the learning curve, as I mentioned. That's not a problem, though, just the inevitable consequence of a robust system with many options. One feature I'd like to see in the future, though, is an enhanced version of their Phish Alert Button that reports incidents to Microsoft natively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Significant phishing attacks were leaking through our Exchange protections, which we've reduced considerably. The PhishER Dashboard and Inbox, in particular, have provided an excellent resource for admins to access reported phishing attacks and take action quickly.

If PhishER cannot automatically determine if an e-mail submitted by a user is a phishing threat, then the administrator needs to manually determine if it s a threat.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PhishER, in conjunction with the Phish Alert Button, allows users to flag potential phishing e-mail that an organization's spam filters fail to catch. Once an e-mail is determined to be a genuine phish, then PhishER can pull the same e-mail received by other users from their respective inboxes and quarantine the message.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Experiment with all the settings and ask your KnowBe4 rep a lot of questions. They are very knowledgeable about their products, and technical support is very good.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is straightforward to use, and to perform an Action makes it fast and easy. Also to show it to my college was very easy to show and to perform. Everything as smooth
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't think about features that I dislike, unfortunately. I didn't get a chance to see if there was a Dark theme or not but it would be great to have this little feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time-saving. We are currently using a competitor and the tool is just a headache. Every time I get a ticket open and I have to login ... let's say the experience isn't great.
