JAMF Pro has been the best management solution tool for my company. It made work so much easier.
What do you like best about the product?
That it built for Apple products. Its hard to find software that works almost 100% of the time for Apple products. But JAMF is the answer to that problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think more focus should be on the patch reporting and allowing us to customize our own reports uniquely based on our environment. This will allow us to deliver personal reports that might be needed for delay task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralize Management is big at my organization and having a tool that Control all our Apple Products but also be able to patch them mostly hassle free is a blessing within itself.
Feature rich and a great community
What do you like best about the product?
The community of jamf users is extremely helpful. There are so many customers that we found using other MDM vendors we were asking in the jamf forums for help or finding answers to our questions there. jamf has saved a ton of time provisioning devices and getting things setup. Other MDMs were missing features and had to patch the server in order to make stuff work.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are a cloud hosted environment and have found some timeouts when trying to do actions on large amounts of data. This is the main point of contention with us. The actions will usually be performed but we have to dig a little deeper to find that out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a 1:1 iPad district with roughly 14k iPads deployed. We are using jamf to deploy applications, sync with our SIS, manage user content, restrict users, register iPads. It has helped us streamline so many steps in our on boarding process, we went from a 60 page document to 12 using jamf and its help/features. The time save for our technicians is worth it alone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out all the features that jamf has and if it will work for your current data setup. Make sure if you are not a tech savvy department that you can get the help you need to troubleshoot problems.
AV and IT engineering for lab environments
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF Pro allows me to configure my endpoints for unified experience and deploy apps at scale quickly, as well as audit and track metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
The composer app feels like it is getting long in the tooth as macOS changes....
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to manage our complex lab environments as a single engineer. Having a paid product as opposed to open source tools makes things smoother and more predictable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will pay for itself, both monetarily and in terms of your time/sanity
Simplified macOS and iOS Management
What do you like best about the product?
I was new to Mac management and I needed a tool to simplify the process. At the time, we basically were using a homebrew of custom scripts and using CloneZilla to image. That became impractical overtime and we needed an easier management solution. We did have an AirWatch instance on site, but it proved to be bad for managing Mac computers. Instead, we purchased Jamf and it has made learning and managing Macs a breeze. We also ended up moving most of our iOS devices off of AirWatch and into Jamf Pro.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the UI is clunky in dark mode. Some new products are a little expensive as additions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the issue of poor to nonexistent Mac management. Also, we are learning to utilize iOS to its full potential with all the management features available to us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be very mindful on what server OS you decide to install the on-prem server. Also, make sure to choose decently fast storage for the file distribution point.
Jamf management system
What do you like best about the product?
I'm a IT technology specialist for a school district, we use jamf to manage over 10,000 devices. Jamf has been really awesome and works pretty dang well.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint so far is we've had the jamf server break a few times this year, caused by one device each other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They solve all of our level 1 and level 2 support problems. That this system works great for our environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf does everything you need to do to easily manage apple devices
Couldn't image doing my job without it
What do you like best about the product?
The thing that I love the most about JAMF Pro is being able to make changes at scale and remotely, and for mobile devices that are installed it allows me to do basic troubleshooting from my desk.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are more limitations with mobile devices and Apple TVs than I would like, and I want these products to continue getting more and more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A real world example is we deployed a couple hundred Apple TVs in classrooms one summer, and at the last minute our networking team realized we need to get users to accept a new wireless certificate. I was able to build a new profile and push it out that day, and seamlessly migrate all of our devices to the new certificate with no issues.
Amazing device management tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and learn.
It makes all the deployments go smoothly.
And they are good at zero-day deployment.

Streamline Apple Management in K-12 EDU!
What do you like best about the product?
With the proper setup, very little needs to be done to maintain your fleet. I love all the smart group variables that ensure all of my devices get the proper policies and programs automatically without IT intervention. Policy scoping works great with the quick, recurring frequency at which computers check-in. This makes sure you're fleet is up to date in a timely fashion. Now, when our school district purchases Macbooks, we open the box to inventory tag the computer, but we give them to the user without ever turning them on. The great JAMF community & third-party add-ins make computer configuration a breeze for employees. The ability to leverage almost any type of policy / script / installer in the self service application greatly reduces help desk tickets and allows our users to empower themselves. Last but not least the customizable dashboard gives me a very quick and updated view at the success rate of deployed policies and profiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of initial setup to go through to really tinker JAMF to your specific enviornment. THis can take some planning and trial and error, but once complete makes maintaining JAMF a breeze.
Many of my dislikes I believe are a result of issues with Apple and not JAMF. "Re-Imaging/Enrolling" LAB machines in school environments cannot be completely "zero-touch." Some features that apple touts (upgrade OS from MDM command, do not work) Lots of these things can be resolved with some research, the great community, and custom scripts.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlined "imaging" process. No longer do we need to build "fat" images, everything is easily changeable without redoing base images. The inventory reporting is great for implementing patch policies with smart groups, which allows seamless ways to keep our computers up to date. The vast majority of items that can be placed in the Self Service app greatly reduce our helpdesk tickets. From user specific applications, to custom settings, and even non destructive OS recoveries that users can do by themselves!
JAMF Makes Life Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I love that JAMF allows me to configure some settings, and then deploy them without having to worry about it again. Users are able to utilize their devices, and I don't have to constantly monitor them, fearing that something will break. JAMF is reliable and never failed me.
What do you dislike about the product?
JAMF is a little confusing for newcomers, but the numerous and unlimited amounts of support easily rectify that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JAMF has allowed me to easily deploy Macs to professors and staff in my university, set them up with necessary applications to teach class/do their jobs, and never have to worry about them again.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't be afraid to make sure of the support that Jamf has available. There are many members within Jamf as well as within Jamf Nation that are there to assist you. Everyone in the Jamf community is very friendly and are always there to help and answer questions. The collaborative experience is amazing.
Best iOS and MacOS MDM
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro is the most capable MDM solution available. It's honestly the only MDM worth paying for.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost can seem high, especially for smaller businesses and non-profits. There have also been many bugs in many of the releases, some of which prevented us from upgrading to the latest version. But typically those bugs are solves within a reasonable timeframe and don't end up impacting our end-users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro has helped me to be proactive with fixing and preventing issues, increasing security, reducing turnaround time for problem-solving, and reduce overall tickets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can afford it, it is definitely the best solution available! Its also the only solution I would be willing to pay money for.
