Reliable Tool for Apple Devices

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Jamf Pro is how much it simplifies managing Apple devices. It saves a lot of time with automated deployments, any app updates, and security settings. Instead of handling each device one by one, I can push out changes across our whole fleet quickly and consistently.
What do you dislike about the product?
The primary downside is that Jamf Pro can initially seem a bit overwhelming. With its wide range of features, it takes time to become familiar with the platform. Certain processes might be more intuitive, particularly for those who are new to administering the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro addresses the challenge of managing numerous Apple devices throughout our organization. It streamlines device setup, software updates, security configurations, and app deployment within a single platform. This approach saves time, minimizes errors, and guarantees that all devices remain secure and current, eliminating the need to handle each device separately.

What do you like best about the product?
Versatility of software is second to none, and allows for simply customization alongside complicated scripting. It's easy to deploy to end users once setup, but also also for diverse versatility in terms of configuration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customer support is there, but no where close to Kandji, they required a paid tier of service to allow you to get better support, and their speed to release new features/simplicity of features does not compare.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our users and fleet of corporate devieces secure. seamless integrating to Apple Business Manager to ensure Zero touch deployment is possible.

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF Pro is super administrator friendly. Creating device and application policies is easy and straight forward. JAMF Pro is also very fast to apply new policies to devices so there is little down time waiting to test or enforce new or changed policies.

JAMF Pro support is also very responsive to any issues that we may encounter.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mac App management and the limited options that are available for scoping to multiple targets groups or being able to exclude from the policy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our expanding Mac device user base.

Jamf Pro Product Review

  • September 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro makes managing Apple devices seamless and centralised. I like how easy it is to automate deployments, enforce security policies, and push apps or updates remotely. Its integration with Apple’s ecosystem (MDM, DEP, VPP) is smooth, saving a lot of time for IT teams. The reporting and inventory tracking are also very reliable, which makes compliance and troubleshooting much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can feel a bit outdated and sometimes confusing for new admins. Certain workflows, like advanced configuration profiles or complex policies, require extra steps and can be time-consuming. The cloud console performance can also be slow at times, especially when running large reports. Pricing is on the higher side compared to other MDMs, which might be challenging for smaller organizations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro helps us centrally manage all our macOS and iOS devices, ensuring security compliance and consistency across the fleet. It streamlines deployment with zero-touch provisioning, enforces policies, and makes app/patch management much easier. By automating tasks like software updates, security configurations, and device inventory, it saves significant admin time and reduces errors. End users benefit from faster onboarding, fewer IT touchpoints, and a smoother overall experience.

If you manage an Apple fleet, Jamf Pro is hard to beat

  • September 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro is critical to my day-to-day IT operations and has completely transformed our workforce device deployment. Zero-touch configuration (via Apple Business Manager automated device enrollment) is genuinely a game-changer—new Macs go from shrink-wrap to fully compliant with apps, profiles, and security controls in minutes without IT ever touching the device. Smart Groups, policies, and scripts let us automate baselines, enforce compliance, and push software reliably, while Self Service empowers employees to help themselves. Reporting and patch management give us the visibility we need to stay ahead.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s a learning curve, and some workflows (PPPC/system extensions, complex Smart Group logic) can take more clicks than you’d expect. The admin console can feel sluggish during large recalculations, and documentation depth varies across newer macOS features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zero-touch configuration (via Apple Business Manager automated device enrollment) is genuinely a game-changer—new Macs go from shrink-wrap to fully compliant with apps, profiles, and security controls in minutes without IT ever touching the device

Jamf Pro

  • July 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro excels at what it was built for—managing Apple devices at scale. The integration with Apple Business Manager and Apple School Manager is smooth as silk, making zero-touch deployment a reality. Setup and enrollment are automated, consistent, and secure. The granular policy management is another standout—you can craft very specific configurations and apply them dynamically with Smart Groups, which cuts down on manual work and increases control. Self Service is a major win from a user experience perspective, giving users autonomy while keeping the environment secure and standardized. Reporting is detailed, automation is robust, and Jamf’s scripting support allows advanced admins to push custom workflows with ease. And let’s not forget the Jamf Nation community and support, which are genuinely helpful resources when you're troubleshooting or trying to learn best practices.
What do you dislike about the product?
That said, Jamf Pro isn’t without its friction points. For one, the learning curve can be steep, especially for teams new to MDM or Apple’s ecosystem. The interface, while functional, feels a bit dated and occasionally unintuitive—you’ll find yourself diving into documentation or trial-and-error just to figure out where a setting lives. Pricing can also be a barrier for smaller orgs or schools, especially when compared to lighter MDMs that offer basic features at lower costs. And while it integrates well with a lot of systems, certain advanced integrations (like conditional access with Azure or complex patch management) can feel clunky or require additional tools like Jamf Protect or Jamf Connect. Finally, while support is generally solid, there are occasional delays during peak times or when working through more complex issues that touch multiple Apple services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro is solving the chaos of managing Apple devices at scale. Before implementing it, deploying Macs and iPads involved a ton of manual setup—account creation, software installs, security hardening—all done by hand or with clunky scripts that only worked “most of the time.” Jamf Pro automates all of that. Devices arrive at the user’s desk, they sign in, and within minutes their machine is configured, secured, and ready to work. That’s saving us hours per device and dramatically reducing human error.

Security and compliance are another major win. With Jamf, we can enforce policies, track device health, and push updates or restrictions on the fly, ensuring we meet internal and industry standards. No more wondering if someone skipped a critical update or disabled FileVault—we have full visibility and control.

We also used to field a lot of basic IT tickets—“How do I install this?” or “Can I get X app?” Now, with Self Service, users can help themselves from a curated list of tools, which not only empowers them but frees up our helpdesk.

Ultimately, Jamf Pro is benefiting us by reducing workload, improving security, and delivering a smoother end-user experience. It’s given us the structure and automation we needed without locking us into a rigid system—and that flexibility has been huge.
