Great platform Apple MDM and inventory management!
What do you like best about the product?
Simplifies prestaging and enrollment for our mobile devices. Easy to administrate commands and management policies. All of our inventory updated and managed in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
JAMF support can sometimes be repetitive and tedious. Though things might take time for troubleshooting the overall consensus is good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inventory and asset management has become much more reliable and easy to clean up. This makes for quicker device turnover and replacement.
JAMF Pro is great and easy to use, but has its quirks
What do you like best about the product?
JAMFPro is much more intuitive than some of the other MDM platforms I've used (specifically MobileIron). Management commands that are initiated get to the devices quickly. No waiting and having to keep pushing out check-in commands. I send a device unlock command, and the device gets it almost immediately. The ability to quickly throw together queries and reports in the web portal is also a big plus. I love how fast I can put a report together on the dashboard to track deployments.
JAMF Nation also has excellent support articles and resources for self-help. Almost everything I was unfamiliar with I was able to figure out using KB articles. The few times I had to open a support case, I was contacted very quickly, and the technicians were very responsive.

What do you dislike about the product?
Doing one-off searches for devices and computers can be clunky sometimes. It would be great to be able to type in a user name in device inventory and give me all devices registered to them. Right now I need to go to usernames, find them, then look at their registered devices. It's only a couple of extra steps but when you're doing it constantly throughout the day, it adds up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JAMF Pro helps us manage our MacBooks and iOS devices in a mixed environment. Many of our users are in the field and being able to remotely push settings and applications is very helpful. Our company only has one site with no satellite offices. If we needed to have the devices in hand to make changes it would be a nightmare. I have deployed iPads to field users located across the country using JAMF and have been able to do everything required remotely.
Jamf Makes Managing Student iPads Simple
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of creating prestage enrollments and enrollment customizations, as well as choosing which setup assistant steps to skip, make zero-touch registration possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Searching inventory, display fields on the search screen, and viewing which devices are in the scope for a particular prestage enrollment can sometimes be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us keep the student iPads functioning and manage all the apps that are used by students or requested by teachers. The process of distributing the devices to students has become much more efficient.
Easy management for devices
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf pro doesn't require a lot of training to understand. There are self-service options that make software installation easy for the end-user. The ability to unlock devices remotely is helpful in hybrid work environments.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't too many things that I would say I dislike about JAMF Pro. I want additional features for remote control, but they may be blocked by our network security or apple privacy settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JAMF pro is making software deployment much easier than it used to be.
Powerful MDM platform for EDU
What do you like best about the product?
Efficiently manage huge fleets of Apple devices -- macOS, tvOS, iOS and iPadOS. You can switch between managing each type of device from one pane of glass. Jamf Pro offers extremely powerful macOS management, which the competition does not have. It's possible to customize almost anything with scripts and smart groups. The system is laid out in an intuitive manner, which again, their competition lacks. There is an awesome community of system admins that you can bounce ideas off of, or get assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support could be faster. Some features that you would think they definitely have are missing. Some due to Apple's constraints but others could have been implemented a long time ago.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to manage a fleet of 2,000 devices with one system admin and one technician. We refreshed all 2,000 devices over the summer and onboarding them all without Jamf Pro would have been a monumental challenge. We were able to complete the rollout efficiently and quickly.
Great Highly Flexible Solution
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jamf gives me the ability to completely customize every aspect of my device management. I've used several other MDM's but they do not provide the same level of customization. I also like all the supplemetary tools Jamf provides such as Jamf Connect which is also the most flexible cloud sign on tool I've found.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf doesn't provide as many out of the box solution as some other vendors. It also doesn't provide a "live terminal" type solution which feels like a missed opportunity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro allows us to deploy devices with zero-touch integrating with all our other tools. I love custom building tools and Jamf gives us great ability to use custom code which some other solutions had more limits on. Jamf also has so many open source tools that integrate perfectly and are plug and play and really easy to use.
Long time Jamf Pro user
What do you like best about the product?
The community surrounding Jmaf Pro with a vast pool of knowledge both for Jamf and Apple Management to tap into
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like more templates for fast changes and better Patch Management (coming soon)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes us manage thousands of macOS and iOS devices easily
Jamf! A great tool and easy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of Jamf pro is the activation unlock key. It has been so helpful in many situations. Our users work on job sites all over the country, and sometimes when someone logs into the iCloud account and their iPad gets reset, it is so easy to give that key to the manager so they can unlock the iPad.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful thing about Jamf Pro, is the back button. I don't like how when I click on a device, the information gets pulled up, you hit the back button and you have to scroll all the way back to where you were.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro is helping us solve the management portion of our iPads. It's so nice to be able to communicate with our end users through the iPad if needed, as well as manage all of our apps.
Jamf Pro in EDU
What do you like best about the product?
Using Jamf to configure devices, both macOS and iOS, is easy. I also appreciate the ability to deploy software in many different ways, whether via script, pkg, or the App Installers feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish that the Patch Management feature as well as using the MDM Commands to push OS updates and patches was more reliable. Another helpful item would be easier Secure Token granting/removal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance with university security policies, 3rd party software patching via script, and Self Service items for my users all make my life easier.
