JAMF Pro
What do you like best about the product?
I like how granular JAMF is compared to other MDM solutions and you can’t find a better community.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be expensive and there’s a bit of a learning curve. JAMF nation is not the easiest to search with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love that I can push apps, security settings, printers, and more. If a device is lost or stolen, I can easily disable and track it. I’ve reduced how much time I have to spend with each device considerably—it’s a game changer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With some training, it’s one of the best management tools for Apple products hands down.
Great Support and Team
What do you like best about the product?
Great granular control of devices. Ability to set policy and groups is very simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some settings are nested to the point that they are difficult to find or make sense of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security settings, limitation of unsecure applications, and creating a unified experience.
Jamf Pro Review
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and knowledgeable support staff. I can't stress enough how awesome the support is. We just suddenly moved to integrating macs with our all PC setup and Jamf has been integral in making this happen smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that in my version of Jamf Pro, 10.15, I can't see all the buildings. Only the first 100 or so show up and we were told it was a bug. It's difficult to keep them cleaned up without being able to see them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping iPads and macs secure and controlled, and making sure our necessary medical apps are up to date and accessible by staff.
Jamf Pro is a Must for Apple Device Management
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to manage thousands of devices with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I think it takes too many clicks to complete a task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deploying apps and settings to thousands of devices.
Couldn't image doing my job without it
What do you like best about the product?
The thing that I love the most about JAMF Pro is being able to make changes at scale and remotely, and for mobile devices that are installed it allows me to do basic troubleshooting from my desk.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are more limitations with mobile devices and Apple TVs than I would like, and I want these products to continue getting more and more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A real world example is we deployed a couple hundred Apple TVs in classrooms one summer, and at the last minute our networking team realized we need to get users to accept a new wireless certificate. I was able to build a new profile and push it out that day, and seamlessly migrate all of our devices to the new certificate with no issues.
Jamf does EVERYTHING
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf works closely with Apple to make sure that new features are quickly adopted and able to be managed by JamfPro. Zero touch deployment has been a game changer and makes on boarding new employees fast and seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Newly released versions of Jamf can sometimes contain bugs. Getting started with Jamf can be a little confusing at first. Thankfully, there is a lot of documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team manages over 10,000 devices in JamfPro with only 3 admins.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go all in with Jamf, you won't be disappointed. Jamf has everything that can really fine tune your management workflow and end user experience to be efficient and consistent.

Time saver and real support
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing is JAMF support. I have dealt with many vendors, but none of them have felt like an extension of our team like JAMF support does. I never thought support was extremely important, but it definitely is when you are talking about a system that supports thousands of devices. I've have been on the phone working with a tech an entire day before, and never once were they upset. I also like how simple it is to change something on thousands of devices in minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had problems with updates causing us issues. We tend to not update right away and wait for known product issues to arise. This has been frustrating because sometimes we need to update to support new devices. However, we have been included in quite a few product issues but most of them have workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing close to 10000 Apple devices on a daily basis. I've realized how much time is saved by having JAMF. If we had to manually do a lot of the things we have automated, it wouldn't be possible to get it all done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a look at the JAMF Nation community. JAMF has quickly become one of the standards in Apple management. There are other products out there, but it helps to have such a large community using the same product.
The only full MDM solution for the enterprise/edu
What do you like best about the product?
zero day support and solid certification program allowing me to ensure people can be trusted managing macos/ios devices across the environment. Gives great insight to what machines meet compliance with reporting that is easy to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much of a downside. If you have macOS/iOS devices that need to be managed to meet information security standards, jamf really does the best job of being able to configure a wide array or devices on the fly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage a macOS environment in higher-ed with many users that are mobile. I can push changes remotely without needing to touch each machine.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it. It is worth it!
Streamline Apple Management in K-12 EDU!
What do you like best about the product?
With the proper setup, very little needs to be done to maintain your fleet. I love all the smart group variables that ensure all of my devices get the proper policies and programs automatically without IT intervention. Policy scoping works great with the quick, recurring frequency at which computers check-in. This makes sure you're fleet is up to date in a timely fashion. Now, when our school district purchases Macbooks, we open the box to inventory tag the computer, but we give them to the user without ever turning them on. The great JAMF community & third-party add-ins make computer configuration a breeze for employees. The ability to leverage almost any type of policy / script / installer in the self service application greatly reduces help desk tickets and allows our users to empower themselves. Last but not least the customizable dashboard gives me a very quick and updated view at the success rate of deployed policies and profiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of initial setup to go through to really tinker JAMF to your specific enviornment. THis can take some planning and trial and error, but once complete makes maintaining JAMF a breeze.
Many of my dislikes I believe are a result of issues with Apple and not JAMF. "Re-Imaging/Enrolling" LAB machines in school environments cannot be completely "zero-touch." Some features that apple touts (upgrade OS from MDM command, do not work) Lots of these things can be resolved with some research, the great community, and custom scripts.

Streamlined "imaging" process. No longer do we need to build "fat" images, everything is easily changeable without redoing base images. The inventory reporting is great for implementing patch policies with smart groups, which allows seamless ways to keep our computers up to date. The vast majority of items that can be placed in the Self Service app greatly reduce our helpdesk tickets. From user specific applications, to custom settings, and even non destructive OS recoveries that users can do by themselves!
