Excellent tool for driving Data Governance
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is easily customisable. Adoption by users requires minimal training. The system is flexible and easily integrated with other systems

The license cost for users with write access

Great Data Governance tool
What do you like best about the product?
User intuitive, interface looks nice and it is easy to create relationships between assets and view these relationships on each asset page. It is also good that you can view this in diagram form.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when we add in asset characterstics they don't reflect straight away, and if we add them in again they duplicate which can be confusing. For the same asset characteristics these also reflect in different orders, even when inputted in the same order.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collibra allows us capture our data assets within the business, and their relationships to other assets. We can also captured things such as data owners and governance policies to ensure the correct people have access.

Collibra is an excellent tool for data management using collaborations. It is scalable and can be integrated with external systems. Data Catalog, Stewardship, and OOTB workflows are very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Collibra is a premium solution and can be costly, which might not be feasible for small or medium-sized businesses with limited budgets.

Collibra solves various problems including inconsistent data quality, lack of collaboration, compliance challenges, etc.

In some areas Collibra as a tool still need maturity and as we progress with implementations in some scenerios the drawbacks were identified and reported.

One Repository of all Data concepts, visible to all, ready for all to contribute, shows one truth and community understand one meaning of one data concept, bring transparency and provide latest status, shows governance responibilty.

As a technical metadata tool, Collibra is great. It seems comparatively less explored territory for business users.

What do you dislike about the product?
basic search functionality is not very user friendly specially for those who are using collibra 1st time without proper training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collibra really helps to manage data products and is easy to explain to our senior stakeholders who are not very technical by leveraging data lineage capabilities. Also the best platform for data democratization. It also helps to implement data mesh when leveraged together with other technologies.

What do you like best about the product?
A straightforward platform for various modules - Catalog | Governance | Lineage | Quality | Privacy | Protect. Can provide a positive one-stop-shop experience to end users ( across the enterprise )
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration is lacking for an old technology - SAS | Db2-z/OS... plus the data quality module and privacy for Canada (Bill 64?) At last, the pricing module is a bit hard to follow - based on consumption.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Develop a simple one-stop-shop solution. The new version is more potent than the old version. The reporting component still has room to improve. I trust the CPO will bring Collibra to the next level.

The flexibility and interactivity that Collibra provides.

it would be great to see more integration with different type of sources becoming available, and support for better lineages.

Utilizing the OOTB features to quickly bring ROI to the organization.

What do you like best about the product?
Definitely, the most vital point of Collibra is the whole concept coming with the tool - Education platform (University), Community (Data Citizens), Advisory (Adoption Services) and then the software itself. The competition very often focuses only on the solution only, without those additional components. We need to remember that the capabilities of Collibra are enormous but the adoption of the tool would not be possible without proper trainings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, there are several weak points of Collibra. Very technical and not intuitive User Interface heavily impacts the end user's experience. All people without technical knowledge have many issues at the beginning of their Collibra journey which gives a really bad first impression. Very often without any training, nobody in the organization is able to use the tool and understand how metadata is structured there. Those aspects prevent especially business users from the adoption which impacts overall governance programmes in many enterprises.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company was searching mainly for a tool that will replace dozens of information sources and finally act as a single source of truth for the information and metadata management. The biggest benefit that we see is the fact that one solution saves several minutes and hours every day in a life of a Data Steward who no longer needs to jump from one file to another to get the proper info needed for the daily operations.
