Cheat code for speeding up your database queries

  • April 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Two things:

1. The simplicity and speed of setting up a SingleStore environment.
2. The SQL performance increase you get straight off the bat.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little bit on the pricey side for large instances.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Typically we look at SingleStore when query performance on large datasets is bad on MySQL/Aurora. Moving to SingleStore is almost like a cheat code on some occasions!

Meet the fast processing data platform.

  • March 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have tried SingleStore for data processing. The speed at which data gets processed from different pipelines is amazing. Millions of data were being transferred within seconds. And it is easy to get familiar with platform, it is friendly and accessible.
What do you dislike about the product?
What the platform is missing is its own GUI to connect to their environment. Sometimes relying only in browser may be not the best way to use the product. Another disadvantage is that each query run opens a new tab of results which leads to browser memory utilization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am new in SingleStore, now I am trying to get myself educated with its capabilities. We try to get insights from our data, and derive conclusion which might help our customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you wish for fast data processing SingleStore should be your first choice on your selection.

Fast Analytics Database

  • March 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I very much liked the overall experience right from the cluster setup to executing queries and getting results. It is very smooth and user-friendly. I liked the performance of ingesting data from s3 bucket using the pipeline concept which is very interesting.
Queries with only where conditions are working very fast without any indexing which is impressive. Monitoring tools are also very helpful to DBAs/Developers who need to manage multiple instances of databases.
What do you dislike about the product?
The performance of the aggregation queries can be improved. I have tested this with the default cluster as mentioned in the documents. One query that took a very long time is: "find out which holiday has the most activity" which is around 1.12 mins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This product can be very helpful to people who have large amounts of data and needs to generate insights out of it quickly. It can be very helpful in the Finance, Taxation domain for analysis. It is very easy to setup and get going which means lesser administrative overhead. The product has a good IDE for SQL development.

SingleStore Fastest Database

  • February 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Creating a pipeline is easy, and getting data from AWS. Data was coming fast. For 20 mil records, data came fast in DB, like in 5 min that is great. The speed of the query is fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like everything about DB. It is excellent for future DB.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A pipeline is the best I can see it. That will resolve the problem from Azure ADF where you need pipelines. It will benefit to everyone as it will because fast process.

The UI is awesome, so does the speed.

  • February 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is awesome, so does the speed. Another thing I am assuming is that it will be great for analytical scenarios and looks like it will have a great execution time for complex queries which have complex joins.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, I didn’t saw any dashboard for Deadlocks, debugging issues and performance monitoring etc. Just like how pgAdmin have. That’s why I will rate 4.8.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’m currently developing my own E-Commerce platform, I’m currently using Amazon RDS free-tier on staging environment. Singlestore/MemSQL looks like a good option.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Awesome UI and fast execution time.

Amazon RDS Cluster is managed efficiently thanks to SingleStore DB

  • December 07, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SingleStore DB is effective for managing all database applications and their dependencies from both on-premise and cloud platforms. It provides super-fast insights about the ingestion and performance statestics whenever a DB query is processed. It provides excellent data redundancy capabilities in which multiple operational data connectors can work together to share resources within that particular data cluster. SingleStore DB manages all the synchronization issues in case if a cluster malfunctions as it ensures that we are able to access our database from other regions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't find anything to dislike about SingleStore DB as its great for my usage and manages my database application clusters in a fantastic manner. Its dashboard is transparent and insightful so its also easy to evaluate our application deployments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best thing about SingleStore DB is it ensures the high availability of our database clusters which are established as Amazon RDS clusters in our organization. It also allows me to automate a lot of processes in our cluster, which will allow us to obtain notifications in case if there are high computational resource requirements for our cluster. The failover condition is effectively handled by SingleStore DB thanks to its data replication strategies, in which cluster availability is ensured by replicating our Amazon RDS servers. Data locking feature is also convenient while working with a distributed cluster as updation and deletion of nodes occur in real-time and SingleStore DB ensures to visualize the changes in real-time on its intuitive dashboard.

What do you like best about the product?
MemSQL is a database that performs most of the operations in the frame compared to other commercial solutions, therefore it is also a much faster solution perfectly suited for data analysis compared to other databases. A great advantage of MemSQL is that the database is memsql compatible, making the transition very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
MemSQL is not suitable for smaller projects due to the need for a large amount of frame memory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MemSQL gives me the ability to analyze data faster compared to the databases we used.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will recommend using MemSQL to companies that want to improve the speed of data exchange and scale projects.
