One of the most flexible tools for monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
One of the most flexible tools for monitoring - allows to do your own scripting so you can do custom monitoring which is tailored to your application and your needs. It also allows to perform actions automatically to solve problems - e.g., restart application, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI navigation is a bit of a mess; it would have been easier if some simple triggers were predefined
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Zabbix to monitor our Cloud infrastructure. With its implementation, we started reacting faster to problems with our applications.

Very complex and hard to work with but an easiest of exists on the market right now

Comparable to other easier to work with.
Once you learn it - very powerful and has a lot of customisations

Complex UI, hard to understand what and how to do. Bad documentation. As a developer it was very disgusting experience. Possibly as an IT or network administrator the experience will be different

Network monitoring - whether specific server or service is alive, how fats it responses. Network utilization
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be ready to work a lot with google :) most of information regarding "how to" we get from forums / stackoverflow and others. Templates were downloaded for different internet sources.
If you developer and may have an option to get support from Consultant or any network specialist - it will be the best practice and save a lot of time.

Easiness of configuration for our internal DevOps team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to blame, our tech experts are pretty satisfied with the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proactive monitoring enables us to react problems before Customers notice them.

What do you like best about the product?
We are a WISP and minitoring is very important part of our work. We are using Zabbix for more than 10 years and we are very happy. Zabbix allows you to modify triggers and create your own system what works for you. Their support team great as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s not like I dislike but as it is for free you need to be aware that system will require some knowledge regards database optimisation. But that’s when you are monitoring quite a big network with a lot of items per second.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zabbix is our core monitoring platform. Without Zabbix we couldn’t do any support in real time to our customers.

Zabbix is definitely a worth to try.

Flexibility and ease in monitoring the network

The system is easy to deploy rapidly. Within some other monitoring systems the sensors for network elements are arduous to deploy

Alerts can be overwhelming. Perhaps it is a lack of expense but we need to better qualify the alerts from Zabbix to better pain a picture of outage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lack of vision where we do not know what is going on in our enterprise. Previously most enterprise servers were unmonitored.

What do you like best about the product?
Zabbix has proven itself to be a highly effective and flexible monitoring tool. We utilise the flexibility of the system as we do not only monitor Server Tolerances, Services & Network Utilisation. We also monitor less common things like Hot Folders and also our VPN users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customizability. If all of your servers are very similar then this might not effect you. Now, if all of your servers are virtually identical, you may not experience this problem.
However, what if you have a number of servers where you would like to tweak a few of the triggers points then, guess what? You have to use a separate template for them. Worse case you may end up with each server having their own template.

This gives us network wide access to monitoring and alerts. We have the dashboard showing in a number of offices. The system also can escalate to the appropriate technician if configured so.

there is much information about this software, the forum on the site is very complete. I use it personally in my company.

sometimes the monitoring of some appliances is difficult, especially for some firewalls.
you need a basic knowledge of linux to be able to use it to the best..

With this software I can do a complete tracking of all my company and customer systems.
I have set different alarms and is useful for optimizing and automating system controls. I use it in a SOC for H24 staff

Handling triggers / alerts via templates saves you a lot of time and you do everything from web interface

You can acquire data using Zabbix for building beautiful charts on grafana.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple to setup and easy to manage solution. Very little in-depth tech skills needed to deploy initially and raft of templates available for free online to make it an essential monitoring tool for any business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support, if you want it - looked to be costly if you simply want light email only assistance on your setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is our core monitoring platform, used to montior all servers and perimeter for any issues in the network. We utilise it to alert the team on any low disks, failed devices or loss of ping to certain aspects of the network. It also monitors flow and other metrics via SNMP with a single pane view for easy management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A little linux knowledge is recommended, but not hard to pick up. The online forums are also great. I would advise checking template galleries prior to implementation to ensure that you have correct monitoring templates for the kit you will be checking, else creation is a little cumbersome manually.
