The best backup product I've ever used
What do you like best about the product?
We were shown Veeam right from the moment we fully virtualised with VMWare. We already had a backup to disk / image based solution with Physical machines, but that didn't support virtualised environments. I love how simple Veeam was to start using, and it's never caused me a problem with lost recovery points or corruption - touch wood. And that's something I've had in the past from other solutions. Instant VM Recovery is also amazing, I love how you can spin up a full VM from a backup point
What do you dislike about the product?
I only have 2 real dislikes - number 1, performance with NAS boxes has always been a bottleneck. With physical machines backing up to the same NAS, we could get initial full backups done quicker. Number 2 - excluding certain folders from the backup is either very tricky, or not possible. As it seemingly backs up the Vdisks, I don't believe I can restrict backups from specific folders, at least if I can, I've not seen how.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using VEEAM for both traditional daily backups, incrementals and fulls, with different schedules to suit the workload, and backup copies, both to secondary storage and cloud backups. This satisfies all our requirements in terms of backup strategy, and simplifies DR.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you spec up your repository (backup hardware/appliance) correctly to ensure you get the desired throughput with full backups and instant VM restores. If you are backing up 2012R2 VM's and use deduplication, be aware your incremental backups will grow once dedup schedules start changing the disk blocks.
Ha tried after severall years with Backup exec. Enjoy it much, have miss the errors on Backup exec.

Simplicity, its one of the best features, but very powerfull

Have more and more control on reporting features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LEss time veryng backps, also diminish the total databeing bakuped.

Please don't do more backups using scripts and stuff like that.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
It was eady to integrate with our existing system. Easy to use interface and solved a problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some more features that could be built into the next versions and we look forward.

It was fast to deploy and allowed us to focus on other areas.

The price list, discounts and the partners support.

Yes. Replication and HA of virtual machines vmware running.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

What do you like best about the product?
Veeam Availability Suite is a great product that is relatively easy to install. Works as advertised and keeps getting better as new features are added.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have CDP included in the replication module. Additionally support for CIFS. Both of these features have been promised and are on the road map but have yet to find their way into the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Veeam has saved my bacon more than a few times. The backups work well for both Windows based and Linux based VMA;'s. I have yet to find a situation where a recovery hasn't worked the way it is supposed to. My team rely on Veeam. I have used other solutions but none have worked as effectively as Veeam. The reporting functionality of Veeam One which is included in the suite is great as well.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy, reliable way to backup virtual stuff. Able to set and forget for the most part.
What do you dislike about the product?
Managing licensing when you only want to backup some VMs vs all can be a bit tricky, but if you pin them to hosts and set the licenses on those hosts, it will work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business continuity. We moved off Backup Exec years ago it is is miles better.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Works great for on-prem backup of virtual servers. Just be aware to properly licenses if you have automatic v-motions that may move a VM to an unlicensed host.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the product has an easy to use UI and I don't have to worry about the product failing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the slowness of update releases.

Having a clear backup plan is very important to my business.
Veeam is my go to backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use, GUI is clear, works reliably, love the advanced features such as file level recovery from mailboxes and AD. Support team at Veeam are really good
What do you dislike about the product?
My only criticism is that the error messages it produces can sometimes be vague and not mean a lot making troubleshooting difficult

Protecting the business mission critical data to protect against the worst.
Good product for Physical work loads.

Easy to setup. Works using CBT even though it is physical machine

Supports Linux as well. Restore of files for Linux backedup data is very simple as we can restore as same as windows

What do you dislike about the product?
Linux work loads give lot of trouble while setting up as I was not families with the Linux faced issue

We full filled Physical server and Desktop machine backup for the company

If looking for the backup solution for physical along with Virtual environment then this will full fill the requirement if purchased along with Veeam Backup and replication

Least RPO and RTO for the Data loss and data recovery.
Improved monitoring will help to auto fix few of the common issues.

I have not come across with any of the issues for our environment
