What do you like best about the product?
I have the same opinion as above. The ease of installation and the support from the company are great

The learning curve can still be steep, but you can find answers from support or online
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have the ability to backup our environment. Before using Veeam the place I work for did snapshots only. I showed them why this was bad and why Veeam was the best solution for us. We now have multiple copies of our environment which we could use for recovery if necessary.

It is a very good product for the price

What do you like best about the product?
Once everything is setup, it just works. I regularly check on my backups and once it was happy, no erros, just backups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial setup took a bit of time, but no more complicated than Backup Exec which we used before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backup Exec was clunky and failed often. Veeam needs much less care & feeding.

It shows a very useful gui, the way to configure backup policies is great

Although it is one of the best backup tools in the market sometimes is little expensive

High rate of good backups, easy to restore
Veeam Backup & Replication was designed for VMWare so it just works seamlessly with vSphere.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use graphical interface inventory of vSphere VMs and quickly create AdHoc backups to a preconfigured destination.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to implement a storage solution that works with Veeam, whether direct-attached or remote storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using the Veeam Community edition, I am able to backup 10 of our most critical virtual servers now while waiting for a permanent solution.
Our Point of view on the Veeam Backup Replication
What do you like best about the product?
Our experience with Veeam Backup Replication is pretty great. We have deployed and successfully run backups on our on-premises for quite a long time. We have liked about the Veeam Backup is easy to deploy

Nothing, We are good with the Veeam Backup solution

We are always looking for a reliable product which can tackle our problems seamlessly

What do you like best about the product?
Schedule corporate backups and keep file history for a specified period
What do you dislike about the product?
In the community version it is not possible to create incremental backups and the backup reports do not indicate which files have been saved

I always have backups under control and the advantage of having a history

If you don't need incremental backups, the community edition is great

Ease of setting up backups and confirmation of them working.

Some issues with it accessing NAS storage but this was found to be Windows issues and resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up full image backups. It just worked well to do this.

Veeam is flexible and easy to use. It's a mature product that has been in the market for a long time, and most IT personnel know how to use it.

I wish it had more automation options like screenshot verification and automated disaster recovery testing.

Backup and replication for onsite servers.
Very simple to set up, lots of features.
What do you like best about the product?
Veeam Backup and Replication is a very easy-to-use software that supports backup of physical and virtual infrastructure to many different destinations. I use Veeam with a Synology NAS with a backup folder shared over SMB. I also use Veeam to replicate VMWare VMs to a remote site for DR site purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Veeam starts to get complicated once tape backups are involved. A lot of the documentation is theoretical, and there are no guides or best practice whitepapers available specifically for tape media. There is a steep learning curve for some of the advanced features Veeam has to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
VMWare allows us to replicate virtual machines to VMWare infrastructure at a remote location, then spin it up if our primary site goes down. It can automate things like re-addressing the virtual machines when the subnet changes. It very much simplifies the process of getting our emergency site running in the event of a network or power outage.
Veeam Backup & Replication: A solid backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
Veeam is easy to use and fairly reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their built-in file encryption has caused me numerous issues with my copy jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an easy-to-use backup solution that worked with a wide variety of repositories, was reliable, and full-featured. Veeam checked all the marks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would not choose to use their built-in encryption at the moment. It has caused many issues with backup-copy jobs writing to NAS over NFS. We are currently troubleshooting the issue; however, it has taken them 4+ months to do so.
