Excellent eDLP Client and Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The administrator console offers a wide range of configuration options. I specifically like using DG Arc's investigation tools. The client seems to be lightweight once you get all your exclusions added.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is working fine, there are no complaints with this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The eDLP Agent solves our data loss prevention problem since it covers everything.
Digital Guardian is a very powerful and flexible platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's flexible enough that we can have it do pretty much whatever we can think of. I like that the reporting platform is also flexible. Support is happy to create new reports. Support is VERY good, and they're always a pleasure to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
As is the case with most powerful software, since it's so flexible, there's no way for it to automatically show us any blind spots we may have inadvertently created. Test, test, test!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring, blocking and reporting critical data attempting to leave our machines.
Great Support and Quick Responses
What do you like best about the product?
The support team is able to take care of most needs without trying to figure out complicated settings and configurations and is really helpful in setting things up or changing settings and tuning out reports or findings. Quarterly calls or being able to regularly reach out to the account manager allows the opportunity to be able to learn and understand the interface. Many of the surface features you would use DG for are easy to pick up without being too in-depth in training. Most of the features are easy to also train and transfer to other colleagues without needing too much repeating or help afterward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the menu items are too small and less intuitive or hidden to see. One of the small things that pause productivity for fast working is not being able to hit the enter button to begin the search of something you are looking for, rather, needing to use the mouse to click refresh. Minor considering all of its capabilities as a whole.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Restricting applications, watching data, and document upload/ egress. Being able to restrict certain activities with rules blocking, and just observe in other instances without needing to block so that you get an informational perspective with activities.
Fantastic on-prem DLP solution
What do you like best about the product?
It has visibility where many DLP vendors do not. The prompting customization helps train staff on the correct use of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It often over-promises on future solutions. It needs to be able to keep up with the move to the cloud as well as integrations with sensitive data-producing applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blocking the movement of classified data. Visibility and control of data coming from non-SaaS platforms. The prompting helps train the staff on the correct usage of data.
Great DLP tool
What do you like best about the product?
Digital Guardian is a powerful tool that provides a lot of granularity to monitor and analyze data to identify potential violations of our security policies. It gives us insight that we previously didn't have.
What do you dislike about the product?
As this tool is very configurable, it is easy to get confused when troubleshooting when you do not see the results you are expecting. It takes much more time and effort to use this tool to get the most out of it than other DLP tools
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digital Guardian monitors, detects and blocks the sensitive data that we have classified from leaving our organization. Giving us greater control over personal information protection, intellectual property (IP) protection, and data visibility.
Very powerful tool if you now how to use it.
What do you like best about the product?
It can be tuned to cover most of your DLP needs. You can get a pretty complete picture of users' activities with and beyond classified information. It's possible to get more things done on one platform
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is quite complex and requires the continuous involvement of qualified professionals to make full use of the opportunities it offers and adapt to a specific environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It restricts unauthorized leaks of information and helps to teach users how to care about classified information in everyday work. It carries out early warning of users' attempts to violate security policy.
DLP: Granular Control with Minimal Disruption
What do you like best about the product?
Granular controls; polices and rulesets are highly customizable
Logging; while syslog options are sometimes cumbersome, the ability to get schedule reports to a SIEM or custom logging options with same granular controls is great
Setup; fairly simple server architecture for on premise customers
Logging; while syslog options are sometimes cumbersome, the ability to get schedule reports to a SIEM or custom logging options with same granular controls is great
Setup; fairly simple server architecture for on premise customers
What do you dislike about the product?
On premise behind on features; since move to ARC product and managed services, on premise customers get a little behind on feature set and updates
Policy writing is atypical; reverse coding style of rule writing isn't too difficult but it is somewhat complicated over tradition tope down coding
Interface clunky; little slow to report creation or navigating menus and dashboards for on premise setup
