Glean is extremely helpful for Support teams

  • August 03, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Glean helps users find information at their company quickly with highly relevant search results. For the Qubole support team, this was quintessential as the need to gather data from Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, Google Docs and Slack conversations was necessary in almost every technical ticket that arrived from customers. We were able to quickly triage tickets and get useful information to solve the case using Glean.
What do you dislike about the product?
We did not find anything about Glean to be dissatisfactory. The product performed better than expected and the team we worked with were professional, prompt in replies and helpful in getting everything setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In Support, the ability to gather information from our knowledge sources quickly is of the upmost importance in order to handle the volume and intensity of issues for highly technical issues which were the overwhelming majority of tickets we handled. Quickly grasping context, scope and knowledge across our company's apps helped our agents reduce the time spent in triaging and resolving cases which allowed us to scale the team as the company and customers grew.

What do you like best about the product?
Makes it fast and easy to find information across the various platforms our team uses (slack, gsuite, confluence, jira, etc.). I probably use it 20+ times per day.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides that I can think of, sometimes I feel like ranking can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Information retrieval, making the team more productive.

Glean brings the company assets to search at a single unified place

  • July 28, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to search across assets in one single place makes me super efficient and enables me to do 8 hours of work in 20 minutes. Without glean i had to rely on individual application search.
What do you dislike about the product?
auto sort my search results by date always, this could be not applicable for many other users, but if I can have a one-time profile setup where I can configure my preferences of search results that will be the cherry on the top
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Searchability across assets and applications not having to look around for the information across multiple places not only saves my time but also makes me efficient

Glean is a time saver

  • July 27, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Not only does it satisfy my enterprise search needs, Glean helps me identify potential gaps in our knowledge base.
What do you dislike about the product?
Privacy. Glean's algorithms seem to work best when they're connected to everything, but I'm not comfortable doing that. I'm probably an atypical user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprise search with a very familiar UI. Knowledge lives in multiple places and Glean does a great job of allowing me to search all of them at once. Huge time saver.

Glean is my workplace superpower

  • July 25, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
With more than just a handful of SaaS products at my work, searching for things has always been a difficult challenge for me, usually solved with many many tabs open at one time. Glean is a single search engine for everything I use at work.

I love that I can easily get to my search when I open a new tab in Chrome, search is lightning fast (this is a big one), and that I can search across all my work apps in the one place. I also use Glean when I need more information on colleagues and it's so handy not having to open yet another tool.

Some of the more advanced features I enjoy are "go links" (I created go/time for timesheets and I also use go links for all of my engagements as a consultant, this way I always have a quick way to get to the info I need).

Collections initially seemed like a label or tagging system on the surface, but it's fast becoming my favorite feature because it's deeply integrated with Glean search in a way that allows me to add descriptions to items, sorting items, and adding links that aren't in the index yet.

New features and improvements come frequently and the product is always improving.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the difficulties has been getting company-wide adoption, to make better use of things like go links and collections. We're looking to roll out the chrome plugin on all machines to address this.

Our source of people data was also a little unique, and we had people spread across multiple regions. This meant that filtering that data by region was challenging at times, though it has improved with recent updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Glean solves the problem of multiple SaaS tools that lead to a subpar search experience (in terms of slow or difficult to operate search, and not knowing which tool will contain the information you're looking for).

Being able to quickly find what you need at work can be difficult, and with many tools and a lot of data, sometimes it's easier to recreate content than spend time searching for it, or worse still you may never find or know that a certain bit of content exists.

There's also the problem of context switching when searching. Each SaaS tool tends to have it's own different way of searching, it's own page with a list of results, and you end up with open tabs everywhere as you try to look for a piece of content.

At the end of the day, the benefit is a streamlined search experience, and being able to quickly find what I'm looking for. I tend to use search a lot more as I now enjoy the experience and can find content much quicker and get back to my task at hand.

Glean is a useful tool, but one I don't find myself using that often

What do you like best about the product?
I'm able to locate things internally that would otherwise take much longer to search for individually.
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't really found anything that I would say is an issue or needs improving
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I'm looking for specific content, presentation decks, etc. glean is really good about finding relevant information to my search

Creating calm in chaos

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Glean is a dynamic enterprise search with an intuitive UI. It helps folks search and find the information they need to do their job, and even find information they didn't know they needed. It acts as a door to many rooms. I can confidently say it saves the company time, increases productivity, and has a high level of user satisfaction.
What do you dislike about the product?
Glean has been great to work with on our rollout and very receptive to constructive feedback such as being able to bulk verify documents, and create subcollections. They are attentive to their areas for improvement.

For potential Glean users: It is important to remember that while Glean is awesome, it shouldn't be treated as a silver bullet. Your company still needs to take ownership of its content management strategy, keep things up to date, and in the correct repository; however, functionality like verifying and deprecating content in Glean certainly helps!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Glean is solving knowledge discoverability and findability problems. We have information across many tools and it can be difficult to know WHERE to search and to know WHAT exists.

Genius!

  • July 19, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The way you can take notes efficiently! It's so difficult to keep up usually, but Glean helps you record the lectures and take notes in a way that you can read them when you come back to them, and actually use them to study.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integrations with other apps/programs/devices that we use in school could be easier, e.g. the ability to import slides from different devices. That said, the app is updated often so hope to see it being more robust in the near future!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep track of notes! No longer need to listen to hours of recorded lecture or type furiously the whole class just to make sure I don't miss anything, since that means I can't listen to the actual content for fear that I may miss a little thing that may be on a test.

First universal search that actually works

What do you like best about the product?
1 place to search the dozens of different places that you need indexed
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit jarring when IT pushes it to your browser
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Modern teams use dozens of different tools that store important information. Glean enables me to not only find documents I've used in the past, it also helps me discover things I haven't seen when I'm doing research
