Excellent partner that delivered great results for our business needs.
What do you like best about the product?
Many things stood out to us while working with Laika. The individualized attentiveness and collaboration, as well as the infosec expertise they provided to our team, was second to none! They have proven to be an excellent partner, resource for our company, and they have always gone the extra mile in supporting us.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have no dislikes or complaints. Laika proved to be a perfect fit for our company and our business needs!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika has done a great job in helping us identify the proper IS infrastructure design for our business model and assisting us in successfully attaining our SOC 2 Type 1 certification in our first year of full operations. They have been instrumental in helping us set the stage for our upcoming SOC 2 Type 2 initiative.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika took the headache out of answering the dozens of security questionnaires we were getting. The controls we implemented with Laika were able to answer almost 90% of the questions we were getting, and we would work with our Laika expert to go through the rest to make sure we were answering the questions appropriately.
More than that, our compliance team would always go above and beyond for us. Whenever we hit a roadblock, I knew I could rely on them to find a solution. I can’t overstate what an asset the Laika team has been -- they've saved me months of work, and I can't imagine going through the audit process without them. Compliance is a big undertaking and our team at Laika helped us understand what’s important now, what’s coming up next, and how to move through the process one step at a time

What do you dislike about the product?
We encountered some hiccups during the audit process, but our Laika team was able to mitigate them without setting us back in our timelines. They were very responsive and represented us throughout the entire process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Beyond all of the automation features that help make the audit process go smoothly, their team of experts is exceptionally knowledgeable and can help you gain a deeper understanding of your security posture in general. It's also made our sales team happy by providing them with responses to any security and privacy questions that may come up. They can easily get through diligence questionnaires now because we have everything we need stored in Laika.

As a new startup, went from 0 to an A++ SOC2 Type 2 within a year
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciated the openness and clarity from the Laika team and software. Our Laika experts helped us implement compliance best practices, navigated both audits, and provided recommendations for secure external vendors. The end result was an A++ SOC 2 Type 2 report that was better than reports from many big companies.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support of the compliance architects is helpful, particularly as Laika is constantly releasing product updates. That said, the updates mean that navigating the application can feel like a consistently new experience as the product improves. (Bookmarking has helped us!)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were elated to get our SOC 2 type 2 as a company growing from 2 when we started with Laika to several now. Because of Laika's help, we feel really great about our security posture.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Care less about the product UX and more about the CS support you receive -- when it comes to SOC, the latter is way more valuable.

The team is consistently hard at work updating the product. While some updates can be hard to grasp at first, our compliance experts are there to answer our questions and provide us with resources to navigate through.

The Laika support is incredibly valuable. Not only do they help you implement and improve your compliance posture over time, but also frequently take on customer suggestions. The team is always making sure they can provide the best compliance experience to their customers… and it shows in their willingness to take feedback and adapt.

Compliance is complex, and the nature of implementation is that there are always different streams of work to complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is a very useful tool for achieving alignment across major security standards (not just SOC 2 or ISO 27001). Their help with compliance implementation and upkeep after the first year has made us more security conscious.

We strongly advise businesses to consider the product if you embark on your trip to achieve security audits. It gives you clear direction and focus, helping reduce the amount of resources necessary to complete those achievements.

Team cooperation, professionalism, turnaround time and pragmatic execution of tasks. Having Auditors in house helps a lot in understanding needs and matching it to efficiently complete action items and achieve compliance.

So far, there hasn't been any incidents to warrant a dislike feeling.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have achieved our SOC2 compliance with Thoropass. They team has helped us get ready for 3 consecutive audits. Great support and expertise, great customer service, very knowledgeable team. They were also proactive when we expressed some frustrations along the way. They actively looked for solutions. A higher up manager met with us and ensured that our pain points were successfully resolved.
Can't imagine doing security compliance without incredible team at Laika!

Laika truly alleviated all our worries about compliance. We started our journey concerned about the amount of work, but the software/ architects organized the entire process in a way that was actually attainable. Our audit process was also incredibly smooth. We worked with their integrated audit partner, which was a game changer. Everything was done through the platform which mitigated a lot of back-and-forth.

To be honest, I had a really positive experience working with Laika. Compliance is complicated...especially when starting from scratch. Our architect was crucial in helping us navigate those complexities. Because of Laika, we have a really good grasp on our compliance posture (for now and for the future)

We knew we needed compliance right from the get-go. But as a small company, we had no idea where to begin. Laika helped us consolidate everything and demonstrate our security measures to our customers.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika’s human component is the biggest value-add. Throughout our entire process, I never felt like I didn’t have support. It’s really great to have an expert who knows how to approach compliance correctly. Our team of experts consistently over-delivers and is there for us when we need them. Whether it was ensuring we’re implementing policies correctly, or answering questions from our customers… they made us feel like our goals were actually attainable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their solution transforms difficult requirements into bite-sized chunks of work, which is really helpful to understand the scope of work. However I think a project management feature would be fruitful so that we can see our to-do’s, in-progress, and done all in one place.
Also, sometimes the platform doesn't cover all of the nuances of particular compliance processes that are required. That being said, the team behind Laika is extremely helpful in that regard.

Laika has helped shape our organization to become security-minded. Not only have we been able to get through diligence with our SOC 2 report, but also understand the value behind each control we’ve implemented.

When looking for a solution, I highly recommend Laika. They don’t just help at the beginning. They’re there for you 100% of the time, even after the audit. Having a partner that is just as invested in our success and growth as us is invaluable.
Super fast SOC 2
What do you like best about the product?
Laika was totally turn-key for us. We started with nothing, and had completed the full SOC 2 type 1 process in about 6 weeks. As a single vendor, they provide the tooling, materials, consulting, and the audit for one packaged price. They provide a compliance architect who guided our decisions, and by the audit was smooth and fast because our Laika team could handle all of the interfacing with the auditors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, it is compliance... But if you have to do compliance, this is probably as good as it gets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a SOC 2 to help our customers have confidence in our service. Customers are demanding it these days.
